  1. I wish I could say I have found an awesome bread. They all are super dense and never that nice soft gluten texture that I particularly love for PB&J sammies. If I ever come across one it will be shared with all.
  2. YAY!! I was so happy when I got dairy back, too. Makes life more bearable, doesn't it?
  3. I have yet to find a recipe that works for me.
  4. I second digestive enzymes. They can be helpful. Have your stool checked by your doctor for fat as excessive fat can indicate a pancreatic disorder. Some Celiacs have pancreatic insufficiency secondary to celiac disease and it takes some gut healing to have it resolve and they are put on additional enzyme therapy (I believe... not 100% certain on it).
  5. I'm sad to read that your therapist did not believe you. Did they ask you if you were officially diagnosed? I honestly would find a new therapist, tell them you have the disease and then if they ask if you were diagnosed you tell them yes. None of their business whether you got a traditional diagnosis or not. Their job is to help you cope. Ugh that is so...
  6. Interesting thread. Every now and then I have a feeling of being on board a ship but it is a fleeting feeling and goes away quickly. I get motion sickness very easily. It also tends to happen when I'm close to elevators (but not in them) so I just assumed they were running and I was feeling the ground move. But it's happened other times, too.
  7. Yeah... this happens from time to time. Total bummer but at least you figured out what gotcha this go around and aren't on a wild goose chase. Hope you feel better soon!
  8. My boyfriend's mother (a huge cycling enthusiast, high school math teacher, overall pleasant woman) came over on Sunday and promptly announced that she and her hubs were eating gluten free after reading Wheat Belly and Grain Brain. She then proceeds to tell me how they went out to eat at their favorite Mexican restaurant already and of course plan to make...
  9. Last night I had a NY strip steak with a baked potato and broccoli. Simple yet totally delicious. Don't know what I'm having tonight but we have chicken breast thawing and some Aidelle sausag in the fridge.
  10. I am going to reply on a mental level - as this disease affects us all mentally - and offer that in addition to worrying about the obvious physical symptoms you consider therapy or perhaps meditation. I started therapy and have learned a lot of coping skills instead of running with my anger, sadness and isolation which was making me a very poor person to...
  11. Doh! She is too big for my signature. Oh well - I will just have to keep her in my back pocket to cheer me up.
  12. I also have memory problems and at age 28 that is frightening to me. It is well known by family and friends that if I don't remember it's OK - because you just don't expect her to.
  13. Can I have her permanently in my signature? I love her!! Yes that is definitely me after eating those eggs! My eggs were given to me by a coworker that is raising some turkeys for Thanksgiving. He found out about my chicken egg intolerance and kindly offered up his turkey eggs. He said he will continue to collect them for me if they worked out.. I emailed...
  14. I julienned some potatoes and made some awesome hash browns for breakfast yesterday and then fried a turkey egg and plopped it on top. It was so good that I did it again for dinner. Happy dance for me because I successfully ate turkey eggs with NO reaction! YAY!
  15. Thank you both for your rub/marinade ideas! I tried a rub that was a little too peppery (as in chili peppery) last time. It was good but it struck me as imbalanced.
  16. I have a pork loin to roast tonight and some chicken breasts to grill. I'm getting a little tired of my normal routine. Anyone have a good spice rub for the pork? Aherm.. I see Karen you have a rub mentioned in your post???
  17. I haven't decided yet- But I wanted to try and make some gluten free bread rolls tonight. I made some last night with no yeast and they came out a little too flat. Delicious, but flat. I forgot what fresh baked bread smelled and tasted like.
  18. Thanks Sara! ((hugs)) It is like a roller coaster... good days and bad days and twists and turns and upside down and all around. Most days are good.. but when they are bad.. they are BAD! The mental and physical draining takes a toll.
  19. I have been dealing with potty training a 3 year old beagle rescue... and this is humorous yet totally my life. ::face palm::
  20. "People tell me it's so easy these days. There is so much food for you people now.' Jeez. It's not the food. It's the social aspect around the food. But we work around it, don't we?! We bring our own food and have a good time without that glutenous crap in our bodies!
  21. I thought I had a fat issue too, based on GI symptoms despite negative antibody levels. I figured out with a dietary journal that I was intolerant to eggs and sugar alcohols (they were in my protein bars). Since eliminating those from my diet I no longer have the GI symptoms (which was diarrhea and steatorrhea)
  22. I feel like this today. Everything is just too much for me. When I get home from work and work out I hope it will be better. If not, there is always tomorrow. Right?! Tell me I'm right!? *desperately searching for affirmations* The struggle is real. ((Hugs to OP)) sorry I hijacked your feelings.
  23. I switched my dogs and cats to a grain free diet. I scoop their food, wash their bowls in the sink and they give kisses and wash themselves with their tongues so I didn't want to be washing my hands EACH and EVERY single time I interacted with them. It hasn't changed things much for them. The cats seem to enjoy the diet more than their previous one. They...
  24. I've had something similar happen to me before for a urinalysis. I work at a university and our neighboring department is the clin path lab. They run CBC's, chemistries, UAs all day. I was having horrible bladder infection symptoms. I gave them a sample (prepped as I would if giving one for the doctor's office) and they ran it. Gave me the tests: white blood...
  25. No this is an oral medication that I took once a week for 3 months. I have read that some people find success using the Nizoral as a body wash but that was not the case for me. I had to take systemic medication. Thank you! I didn't have any side-effects that I am aware of.
