  1. Where are you finding Tomberlie in San Diego, Mango? Sounds delicious! Obviously I missed the Hillcrest farmers market....
  2. Probably vit. D deficiency is one of the major causes. We get so little sun on our bodies these days. Here's an interesting lecture from a doctor about vit. D: Open Original Shared Link
  3. To me the interesting part is which genes you have. DQ1 genes are associated with the brain issues, DQ2/8 the intestinal symptoms. It is just interesting but overall not all that valuable.
  4. I don't know but I'm guessing "no". You might want to google it and see though.
  5. Chances are you're still eating something your body doesn't want you to eat. Try to figure out what it is with a food journal and/or elimination diet.
  6. Trouble swallowing is also a thyroid symptoms but it is also a symptom of EE as well: Open Original Shared Link
  7. I don't know, but it requires ultraviolet B to make D, I think.
  8. Doh! Yes, I didn't realize you're in Canada, so it probably is the litre one. Yeah, you're fine!
  9. It really really cleared up my brain fog and memory issues. Give it awhirl!
  10. I don't know if this will help you or not, but it might! Open Original Shared Link
  11. Unfortunately there's a lot of bad, old, out-dated information imbedded in the medical types about vit. D toxicity, and they're also prescribing the wrong type of it! I've had arthritis since my 20's and it has virtually disappeared since I started the 4,000 iu of D3. One thing, I think that guy's measuring is different from what they use in...
  12. IMHO the worst part is the purging they have you do the day before the procedure. To me, it meant an night spent running to the potty. Even then, once I didn't quite make it to the pot in time... :\
  13. You can have negative blood tests and still have biopsy proven celiac. In some forms it doesn't manifest in the intestines at all but in the brain, liver or skin. However, most doctors didn't learn this in school and they're ignorant. For anyone with IBS you really should give the gluten-free diet a try, I'd recommend dairy free too since dairy causes...
  14. True enough, but perhaps the OP lives somewhere tropical? There's also tanning salons, you just have to make sure you get the sort that have lamps that emit UVB. Me... I take 4000 iu a day. I just realized my knee arthritis has completely disappeared. I am astonished!
  15. Here's a really interesting talk from a doctor about Vitamin D. It is quite long but very fascinating. Open Original Shared Link

    ARCHIVED The Only One

I bet there are many more that have trouble with gluten but aren't even aware of it.
  17. Just try giving them a call and seeing if they can accomdate your diet, I'm sure they must have a web page too.
  18. How do you know this? AFAIK vitamin D can only be measured in the blood and it doesn't just drop precipitously, it gets lower incrementally. There is, of course, the old fashioned way of getting D... by exposing your body to the sun. Just don't use sunscreen and be sensible about the amount of time.
  19. They're finding cancer, osteoperosis and stuff like that linked to D deficiency. So the symptoms are nasty, nasty diseases that might kill you. They really should be doing routine Vit D testing in blood.
  20. Here's a recipe for my Open Original Shared Link. Basically it's my quick and easy breakfast or dessert, I stir it up in a bowl and microwave it in the same bowl. Recipe is a combination flour(s), egg, baking powder, flavorings and optional things like nuts or fruit. I don't use sugar, use splenda or something else, but you can if you want.
  21. Be sure to take the OILY vitamin D3 called Cholecaliferol, not the D2 or the dry D3. I think GNC or Vitamin Shop has Carlson's brand which comes in 2000 IU. D deficiency is being linked to all kinds of disease now. Here's some web sites that write about D: vitamindcouncil.com This Open Original Shared Link writes a lot about it. There's a growing...
  22. I think you can get it cheaper elsewhere, I bought some at Simplycoconut.com probably over a year ago and I see amazon .com carries it now too. Its good stuff! I use it to make "bowl muffins". You don't need a ton of it because it is super thirsty stuff and absorbs liquids like mad. It is frustrating to work with sometimes too but it works great in...
  23. You might want to check out paleofood.com, lots of eating ideas there.
  24. Same as you would from milk, just use coconut milk instead. First thing to do is get the Kefir culture called "Kefir grains". Then you put them in a clean jar (I use 1 quart mason jars). Fill it up (leaving some air space at the top) with coconut milk (without preservatives). Drop in the kefir grains. I cover the top with a coffee filter held on...

    ARCHIVED Gluten Ataxia

Yes! The brain can reroute at least parts of itself. It seems a chemical called BNDF helps the brain grow new nerve fibers. I read an interesting article that Intermittent fasting can increase BNDF, calorie restriction might too. You might web search on those topics if you are interesting in reading up.
