  1. This topic has been debated many times here, and I'm sure it will be again. People's reactions and sensitivity levels differ, so it seems that there really isn't a definitive one size fits all answer that works for everyone. I hope we can discuss and at the same time respect that some of us are more sensitive to topicals than others.
  2. Wow--that sounds really good--and summer-y!
  3. They do--the one I was at last weekend also had the "mini" size.
  4. Rah-schell! Get her a Thai Crystal--nuttin but mineral salt.
  5. Jen!!! First of all, welcome back Your post is timely for me since we are about to move about 20 minutes outside of NYC, and I was going to be doing some scouting for where to eat while in the city. You saved me a bunch of time. Thanks!
  6. Congrats and best wishes to the psyllie kiddos starting high school!! How exciting My niece/Goddaughter was here over the weekend whilst visiting colleges in the area--jeesh, can nae believe she's 17 already! Where does the time go
  7. The seasoned butter at Outback contains gluten. I always ask for everything to be plain, unseasoned and request some plain butter on the side. If that's not the problem, there must have been some cross contamination at play. I've always found Outback to be reliable and knowledgeable about gluten, but that will vary between locations.
  8. We had nice weather over the weekend--it heating up again for the beginning of the week, though, and humidity is on the rise. Looking so forward to the crisp northeastern fall
  9. Hi psills--hope everyone's doing ok
  10. I had a horrible reaction to poison ivy the summer before I went gluten-free. There is another Celiac on this board who also had a bad reaction to poison ivy, so I guess some of us are not immune.
  11. I use Gluten Free Pantry Cronbread Mix--very tasty.
  12. Hey all--nice to see some chit chat! Just heading to bed--my sister, her husband and me niece are coming tomorrow for the weekend. Haven't seen them since just before we left for TexAss
  13. I run it up and down at least 30 times--more if I'm gonna be in the heat or expect to be nervous. Be sure to completely cover the entire underarm area. Now, every day when I apply mine, I think of this thread
  14. Psills!!!! Happy Phriday the 13th!!!!
  15. This is the way I understand it too. Some people with a wheat allergy can use spelt. Of course, that does not hold true for Celiacs
  16. I found it at Wegman's last weekend. It was around $4.79--haven't tried it yet.
  17. I took Levsin years ago when I was first diagnosed. My doctor said he used it also for his patients who had just had a procedure to ease cramping. It's an antispasmodic--I took the little pills that dissolved under my tongue. It worked just ok for me, and made me tired.
  18. For anyone interested, there is a thread with a link to the Today Show piece--

  22. I'm very sensitive and have not--as of yet anyway--ever had a problem with wine. I don't do the coolers and flavored ones--those could have issues like malt depending on the brand. Plus, I like my wine straight Are you new to the diet? It may be too soon for any alcohol--I didn't even try it for a year or so as I was very ill to begin with...
  23. Oceangirl said it perfectly--many of us need to use gluten-free personal care products. The problem is not that gluten is absorbed through the skin, but that it's all too easy for things like shampoo and lotions to make their way into our mouth--and for the very sensitive, it does not take much at all. It's an individual decision--I tend to say to someone...
