  1. Which ketchup do you have? A lot of them are gluten-free--
  2. I found the transcript of the show-- Open Original Shared Link Nothing that I can see
  3. Hi! A toaster oven that you already have is fine--I would give it a good cleaning, and put foil under any food that you prepare in it for your son. He does need to have a dedicated (regular) toaster, though. Some other things that need to be dedicated to gluten-free food prep--wooden boards and utensils, collander, and don't use Teflon or other non-stick...
  4. Sally--I did Tivo it and forgot about it till now! I just checked--the show was about people who survived life-threatening situations. The woman you mentioned was talking about her boat sinking and being attacked be sharks. 2 of her companions didn't survive. I heard no mention of Celiac....
  5. Hi Vincent--I love Lay's Natural Ruffles--potatoes, expeller pressed sunflower oil, salt.
  6. I just ordered these recently! They arrived this week and I've been taking them for 2 days now--so far, so good I got the Quintabs w/ iron.
  7. I love Neutrogena Lip Gloss!! I have a bunch of them
  8. I know--I love that, too. Smart Balance is another brand that labels gluten-free. And Clabber Girl Baking Powder.
  9. You know--I just remembered that a while back someone--I think KaitiUSA?--posted that Bert's Lip Balm had the vit. E from wheat germ in it, too. Does anyone remember? I'll try to find the post.
  10. I'm going to Tivo the repeat later on tonight, and look at it tomorrow--thanks for the heads-up!
  11. Hi Lexi--I'm going to mosy into the teen forum for a second! I can't eat K's products because most everything is made with tapioca starch as an ingredient. This give me a reaction very close to a gluten one. This is just a thought--sometimes you can be intolerant to other things--not just gluten. I believe Canada is the same as the US in terms of gluten...
  12. Thanks Jen for the kind words A lovely, intelligent young woman like yourself should be able to enjoy this time of life without the constant pain. I'm glad you have a friend to spend time with who will listen--would love to know what she thinks of our quirky little group! I agree that it's too bad we all aren't closer--but I think we make up for that...
  13. Well, I'm happy to see you've come out of your corn-induced fog! Glad to see you posting again!
  14. Hi T, and welcome in to the wonderful world of Celiac! Where the patients quickly know more about how it works than the doctors. I, too got "gluten-free, dairy free diet, see you in 6 months". I learned everything I know about this disease right here. Keep reading and feel free to ask any questions that come up along the way. Everyone here is very caring...
  15. And for all of us, Lynne. Thank you
  16. Kim--Please stick to your guns and insist that he be tested. I had almost the exact same symptoms as a child. I will never understand doctors' reluctance to even run the tests--if he is positive, it is imperitive he be gluten-free to avoid additional health problems in the future.
  17. Hi Rick--welcome in! You've come to the right place. Feel free to ask any questions you might have--we've all been where you are now. The fatigue is typical. It will get better, but that takes time. Have you been checked for anemia? Also, a multivitamin is a good idea, too. Your mom very well could have had a problem with gluten. It...
  18. I know--I've been following your progress. It does take a ton of trial and error--and I (and lots of others, I'm sure) have been very interested in your search for the root of your symptoms. It had been more help than you know--I know I'm intolerant to corn, and have been avoiding the obvoius sources for quite a while now. I would have the occasional bowl...
  19. Thanks Rachel--looked so good till I got to the soy protein. Gosh all these food intolerances are enough to make you head spin !
  20. Rachel--what's ricemellow creme? A topping? It sounds good!
  21. Thanks Betty--wish we were together this afternoon--we could cry and get it all out together. I feel a little foolish, but I guess I really needed to say it "out loud" as it were. I understand completely how you feel--and with your husband being disabled and all--puts more pressure on you. I don't know how you do it. I'm so glad we have each other here...
  22. A Wendy's single hamburger with ketchup, mustard and pickles, french fries and a pepsi would make me very happy right now. I know there are subsitiutes I can do at home--but they are not the same!
  23. I've been dealing with this thing for over 20 years. For the past year, it's had a name, but that really does not make it any easier to deal with. I've had relationships with family and friends affected. Between my physical difficulties and the anxiety and depression, I was labeled the sensitive one--and was really not taken seriously. Since I was never...
  24. Hey Judy--that was quick!! How you doin today?
  25. Hi! I get the generalized itching when glutened, too. No rash or anything visable, but itching that drives me crazy.
