  1. CindyN, I do not have Vertigo but I had friends with Vertigo and/or Meneieres and have researched it for theem. You can do something called the Epley Manueveres for Vertigo. Here is a Webmd article about it. https://www.webmd.com/brain/home-remedies-vertigo#1 Also have your Vitamin D levels checked according to the Vitamin D council...
  2. Fbmb, I never can get it all in one post. I was also going to cite this new research where they are finding the genetic causes of an inborn metabolism for certain Vitamin/Minerals which lead first to inflammation and then disease in time like when EBV takes over the Magnesium receptors in the cell leading in time in those genetically susceptible...
  3. Fbmb, I was just curious what you found about your tonsils? And to report some research I came upon that might help you. It is entitled "XMEN disease: a new primary immunodeficiency affecting Mg2+ regulation of immunity against Epstein-Barr virus." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24550228/ And why XMEN disease is considered more...
  4. Natureguy, When I work in the hay field (like I have done recently) sometime the excess sweat after 3 or 4 days causes the same problem you are describing. This only happens when I have an extended of period of sweating. Both the jock itch and athletes' foots have a common cause. DO NOT do this if you have DH, Hives or other skin issues...
  5. Ennis_TX, I didn't have the research in front of me at the time and have been busy with some farm issues and some faith and family issues but I wanted to post this research now that I found it again. I hope it helps. It is about how various meal types can raise our stomach acid levels at least temporarily. While removing CARBS can alleviate...
  6. Jonezy, You might look into this research. Being in college is obviously a very stressful time. .. ..it is this time when latent viruses can attack our Immune system. new research is showing that EBV can lay hidden in our system and sometime cause(s) us GI problems and without the doctor knowing to look for it the EBV infection is overlooked...
  7. Kylebailey1994, I don't have time for a very detailed answer tonight or really the next few nights and probably the next few weeks. It takes so long to write these responses (I hope it helps someone else) that it sometimes interferes with other things I am trying to accomplish in life. (and you will see this is not the shortest response either...
  8. Mbarz and Cristiana, If your having Iron issues this is a good thread. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/119240-diagnosed-with-ttg-iga-level-of-128-three-days-ago-trying-to-conceive-or-should-i-hold-off/?tab=comments#comment-981475 And see this research entitled "Is achlorhydria a cause of iron deficiency anemia?" https://www.ncbi.nlm...
  9. MarieRH, Don't forget to check your medicines. Some BP medicine can cause chronic cough. https://themedcircle.com/6-medications-causing-unexplained-cough/ I had chronic cough before I transitioned of my Linisopril. Heartburn medicine can cause it too. I have a friend at work who is always clearing his throat but I can't convenience...
  10. Ennis_tx, You have diagnosed the problem correctly I think. But not the reason. This inspire article deals with a lot of the questions/issues of getting off PPIs for good. https://www.inspire.com/CAGU/journal/ppi-warning-gastroparesis-delayed-gastric-emptying-proton-pump-inhibitor/?origin=freshen Admittly it is not easy. It took...
  11. Robin, They can be connected diseases. Here is a good article about their connection. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2890936/ They have a separate break out paragraph on the celiac and SLE connection(s). quoting Celiac disease "The coexistence of SLE and celiac disease is rare. So far, only 17 cases have been...
  12. Novagirl, I do not have your condition. But I did have early onset arthritis. I found taking Magnesium and Vitamin D helped my joint pains. I did some quick googling to confirm whether these conditions are linked and it turns out they have been studied together. see this research about a Vitamin D deficiency associated with a costochronditits...
  13. Victoria, It can be. Up to 40% of Celiac's have some Neurologic/Psychriatric issues. Here is the research on the anxiety and depression issues common in celiac's entitled "Neurologic and Psychiatric Manifestations of Celiac Disease and Gluten Sensitivity" https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3641836/ I used to have terrible anxiety...
  14. Maddiecl, Doctor's go to where the inflammation is occurring? Which sounds like a good thing but we want to be ahead of the curve and not behind it right? If your stomach is inflamed then that same inflammation trigger will continue to effect the rest of your GI tract including your small intestine which comes next down the line in a manner...
  15. JenLN, Here is a thread that might help you. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/100403-can-a-person-have-a-positive-ttg-blood-test-for-no-reason/ You might also try eliminating Dairy and Soy at least for 30 days to see if she feels better. According the UChicago page they also can cause Villious Atrophy and these food allergies are common...
  16. Carolina, It comes down to timeline (mostly) like how long has this been going on? This strange stool pattern you are describing. Here is a good article about how bowel transit can tell us how much inflammation IE stress our GI system is under. Here is the naturopath's explanation and easy home test. Open Original Shared Link Here...
  17. PoorlyPixie, For your fathers chronic fatigue try some Magnesium Citrate with meals. See this constantly tired thread about fatigue. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/122735-constantly-tired/?tab=comments#comment-997070 And have you checked into low stomach acid as a cause? Most of the time you don't have enough stomach acid. And...
  18. Jen1104, Have you considered having your Iron levels checked? It might explain the hair loss and the anger irritability issues. Here is a heathline article on the association of Low Iron levels and potentially associated hair loss. Open Original Shared Link As for the irritability issues see this research from Japan entitled "Iron...
  19. Christine, If IDA has been ruled out then Ennis_tx has given you good advice. It is not directly a "Celiac thing" but it is common in Celiacs because we lose our ability to absorb critical vitamins and minerals (nutrients). It is a chicken and egg thing? Did the Vitamin/Mineral deficiency come first causing the fatigue or did celiac come first...
  20. GFinDC and Lindsy, Here is the link/research on Vitamin D deficiency in Urticaria (Hives) entitled "Vitamin D Supplements Improve Urticaria Symptoms and Quality of Life in Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria Patients" https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4203568/ Lindsy your doctor should definitely check your Vitamin D levels. This...
  21. Lindsy, Since you are going back to the doctor tomorrow you might not read this in time. But I hope you get a chance to read it before you visit the doctor. I can update this thread with more information later in the week sometime . .but here are some quick hits. Your rash can be a sign of your anemia! https://www.healthline.com...
  22. AmericanPastor, I should clarify for those who haven't/don't read the verywell article. quoting from the verywell article for clarity. "Physicians use a panel of common medical tests to monitor your liver's function, including measurements of the liver enzymes aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT). If your...
  23. AmericanPastor, Did you mean to type AST levels by chance. I had elevated ALT liver enzymes before my Celiac diagnosis and NAFLD despite not drinking. Here is a nice verywell article on elevated liver enzymes common in celiac's. https://www.verywellhealth.com/celiac-disease-and-liver-diseases-562618 My liver enzyme levels are now...
  24. Chaber, I agree with cyclinglady. Many years ago now I took Juiceplus 10+ years ago at the urging of my doctor no less. Visit there website it is all MLS. The(ir) ingredients they claim are whole food (natural) but they never list their ingredients anywhere on their website. I was diagnosed as a celiac despite taking Juice+ for probably...
  25. Teliac92, Cyclinglady is correct. Migraines can be a serious condition. I think you asked in another thread about Magnesium. Not all magnesium's are equal. I highly recommend Magnesium Citrate with meals or Magnesium Glycinate they are both well absorbed. Magnesium won't get rid of a Migraine when you are having one it has be taken regularly...
