  1. Nice to see you found a coffee that works for you, sometimes you have to find a lower acidic coffee, or a decaf coffee. I had to drop to decaf this last year, the washing process seems to lower the acidity and bite making it easier on my stomach (I have no problems with caffeine pills) Still swear by Christopher Bean Flavored ones though.... One point...
  2. OH the popular "Repti-Cal" Herbivite multivitamin powder for lizards also contains gluten I learned the hard way after spilling some and curiosity...... Anyway, due to the nature of the powder form.....My beardy is going to be going whole foods only it seems with crickets, chard, mustard greens, cactus, squash, collard greens, some fruits, and some other...
  3. Sounds like it could be a digestive enzyme issue or a weak stomach acid issues. HCL pill like the ones by doctors best or bluebonnet will make your acid stronger to break down foods, while enzymes like those by silverfern could help, a less complete enzyme pill like Jarrows might work for you. Avoid enzymes with calcium, and antiacids. Keep a food diary for...
  4. You could be experiencing 3 different things in my experience. 1. Gluten ataxia, some of us get this where our immune system might also attack our nervous system and brain. 2. Magnesium Deficiency, do some research it can cause tingling, numbness, and even a fire like needle sensation, we end up with this deficiency with celiacs often. Amusingly it often...
  5. First off the food sensitivity test...is a waste of money and completely hit miss. A allergy test is what you need, and even then it can be a bit iffy. Your melon reaction sounds like a allergic reaction, you can get allergies, food intolerance, and sensitivities at any time. There have been many people here that react to honey.....local honeys here used...
  6. I doubt cross reactivity, intolerance and food sensitivities I will credit. I also doubt they cause villi blunting. Here is a perspective for you. You drink a TON of a liquor or a food and get sick, then when ever you smell it, taste it again, you instantly feel sick. Its like that it seems with many food issues. You ate something with gluten that does not...
  7. Meal prep, fix meals in the mornings when you fix breakfast and pack it. OR batch fix doing large batches of like crock pot chicken, steamed veggies, soups, stews, sheet pan meals, Portion it out unseasoned, and season each how you want that day with so you can get some variety. Meals bars like kind, Julian bakery protein bars, or bags of nuts are good for...
  8. Well I had a bad reaction to the birdseye broccoli, (same lines as their sauced I learned after a phone call) a few years back and never touched them again. I sell my bakery gluten-free goods at a farmers market and get goo deals on fresh produce there. I also buy some stuff in the store fresh, but for the most part I actually stocked up on stuff like freeze...
  9. Ditto I had to remove carbs, sugars, fruits, grains, some spices, and a few other things, then take a herbal regime to get it to stay in remission. We all have different triggers and took me awhile to find mine...luckily most were avoided for other health reasons already, or I had noticed that caused me issues and were in moderation prior so cold turkey was...
  10. If SIBO or Candida, you would need to go to a low carb diet and starve the stuff using a keto/atkins diet. Doing so would also get rid of most gas issues, as with no carbs or sugars to ferment there will be little gas. Will take a few weeks with the diet to notice a improvement. Also soy is a major issue for alot of us with gas issues if you have a intolerance...
  11. Yeah I find most days I still prefer and do better on blended diets or soft diets like omelettes with steamed veggies in them, blended soups, mushy cooked foods. Basically I cook stuff to mush for 2 of my meals a day to make it easy, and I find I do much better with blended soups, shakes, and porridge which I make from coconut flour, nut butters, and protein...
  12. So I been exploring my options for a Emotion Support Animal to talk to, I can not have fur animal due to lease agreement. I got a bearded dragon instead, he lives on crickets, meal worms, chard, turnip, mustard greens, can have some squash, and a few other things. ANYWAY, I was feeding him his meal worms this afternoon and out of curiosity decided to put...
  13. I lived in a shared house the first almost a year.....it was nightmare, I got poisoned almost 2-3 times a week. Fights with family..... I have tons of stories on this and could fill a few pages lol. Salad....lol yeah I did that, "OH I can go to subway and get the salad and be safe" Yeah right, that was a big mistake, as mentioned above it is in a place...
  14. First off is to go over the newbie 101 section and make sure there are no sources of contamination. You have to replace several things starting off like cutting boards, scratched pots. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/91878-newbie-info-101/ Remove some others foods helps many times like dairy and oats, and going to a whole foods only diet. Dairy...
  15. What company, some companies do both sauced gluten lines and plain veggie lines. I have gotten glutened off of a few brands that do this. I know birdeye got me once, I called them to learn they use the same packaging machines for both...just hose them down between runs. (this was years ago) A few others companies will put warnings on theirs.
  16. They make strawberry syrups you can add in, I know I use one in my bakery called Simple Squeeze strawberry real that you could say blend in almond milk to avoid the dairy. We like to use it to add strawberry swirls, make strawberry icings or just mixed into muffins or breads. Open Original Shared Link
  17. Corona is not safe....dear god I do not know how many times that one has come up. DO NOT use beers made from gluten grains, there is no way to effectively test them with the standard testing methods due to the way they are processed. Look for non gluten grain containing alternatives or ciders like Austin Ciders.
  18. Need some baseline info and you are probably overlooking some things that are common. IE eating out side at non dedicated places, using the same contaminated cutting board, or scratched pots and pans that retain gluten in the scratches, condiment jars that have crumbs etc. Do read the newbie 101 section, do not worry we all make this mistakes at first. https...
  19. A gluten free diet minus the processed gluten free food yes. Big down side about gluten free foods is most are made with rice, starches, sugars to "mimic" gluten food making them terriable for diabetics. There are some great choices out there if you know what your looking for, but a whole foods gluten free diet would be helpful. I am not a doctor and...
  20. Well first off, it could be 2 things or the combination, 1. Nutrient Deficiency 2. Gluten Ataxia. I would suggest a full spectrum B-vitamin, they work together and just taking one will not get you the full benefit (wish I could show my medical charts on these). Magnesium is another one that can effect coordination and neurological function and is a common...
  21. When you first go gluten free you need to go to a whole foods only diet with limited to no processed foods til your gut heals. Gluten free breads are full of processed flours, gums, and in many cases tons of starches that can ferment and cause gas. They can also contain stuff you could be intolerant to, many of us get issues with xantham gum, diary, soy,...
  22. I use potassium to firm up my stools, sort of naturally dries out the stool, but I can not take the other things people take. A easy to digest diet for awhile like nut meal porridge (no carbs to bloat, and a coconut base so high in potassium). For gas I found a form of star anise worked, I make a bit of a tea with it. I keep a bottle of glidenX around also...
  23. They might ask for blood test, but that would require eating gluten again, we tell people to keep eating it til all testing is done. BUT as the scope is the gold standard your doctor might just call it on that if you get positive biopsies. Here are some useful links so you can read up on testing, the diet and lifestyle, and see some hope of gluten free options...
  24. Check with your EO source and see what they use for a carrier oil and ask about gluten. Common carrier oils are Almond, Aloe Vera, Apricot, avocado, barage, calendula, coconut, evening primrose, grape seed, hazel nut, jojoba, macadamia, meadowfoam, olive, peanut, pumpkin seed, rosehip, safflower, sesame, soybean, sunflower, walnut, AND WHEAT GERM. Never...
  25. It can slow down or lower the absortion rate of key nutrients you body needs, but not stop calorie intake. Depending on your diet, it could cause your body to go into "horde mode" essentially it feels starved due to certain things it needs missing, and start loading on fat weight in a attempt to survive when it is not really starving. You could also get inflmation...
