  1. I use Ester C capsules as they lack the filler in the others I get the 500mg ones and split up the dosing. PS I dump the capsules under my tongue the flavor is mild and I wash it down with a drink after.
  2. Contact the manufacturer and ask about the gluten. Some say the hand soaps, lotions, shampoos do not matter, I say if you touch it with you hand casually then touch your food, a mint, gum, lips, etc your going to evetually gluten yourself. Heck those of us with long hair can attest that it blows into your mouth randomly with a fan or wind. Everyone is...
  3. Fact, gluten is a protein like blood, smaller then a germ. Some surfaces with scratches, porous etc, it just is harder to get off. Think of trying to clean blood off of some thing where the CSI techs can not find traces. But like a protein high heat can destroy the proteins like 500F+ like the oven self clean cycle so you can decon some pans and post...
  4. Might be good to read the newbie 101 section to be sure your really gluten free,https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/91878-newbie-info-101/ also if you post your blood results I am sure someone here will help you decipher them. A few months in is not far into the diet, if you have celiac you took years to rack up damage. I read a paper last week talking about...
  5. If powdered yes....you inhale powders like flour etc and it gets stuck in the mucus in your nose and throat which eventually runs into your stomach. That is all it takes. If you get it on your hands, under your nails, in your calluses etc. You can later gluten yourself when eating or fixing your own food. I had to stop working in concessions years ago...
  6. I can give you a HIGHLY likely culprit but will need a doctor to confirm. I got this after going gluten free for celiac, and it flared with certain foods. Doctors said I had Ulcerative Colitis, they put me on a RX that stopped it but later could not get it when I lost insurance ($690a month) I found diet and supplements stopped it. UC has different designations...
  7. There problem is not just related to the road work. In recent years those of us that opened up small gluten free businesses have been knocked out and shut down by the processed "main stream" gluten free options in stores. While some people do not mind spending the extra money and time to head to a specialty shop for fresh healthy gluten free food. Many will...
  8. Yeah my UC flares to sugars/carbs....hince why I mainly mentioned sugar free ones. My UC also flares to other common triggers and oddly not to others. My UC is fine with chocolate, and coffee....but I eat fruit I have blood and mucus. I did a post awhile back about some things I use to control my since I can not afford the Rx that used to work so wonderfully...

    So stressed?

Might be best to make a post if your looking for answers, give us a idea of foods you do eat that are nuturally gluten free and perhaps we can help you with recipes? The best thing is whole foods, avoid processed foods and no eating out unless you can find a 100% gluten free place or one well reviewed by other Celiacs on Findmeglutenfree. But overall...
  11. Yeah one I found recently Open Original Shared LinkYou can order these on amazon in a dry powder, blend with water and freeze for your own and add flavors/mixins I have used wink also with no gluten issues....I honestly prefer making my own nicecream with coconut milk, Swerve Sweetener, stevia, and LorrAnn flavor syrups or Capella Drops flavoring. Love...
  12. Older thread but, I use Liquid Health Energy & Stress and the Neurological Support 1 tbsp each 3 times a day, eat tons of Cocoa nibs and pumpkin seed protein to help with serotonin and melotonin, and take CBD oil when under heavy stress or feel like a panic attack is oncoming.....and some other stuff when it swings to suicidal. Few other coping methods...
  13. To add on to the above, the more your intestines get damaged the more prone you are to other issues, diverticulitis, Ulcerative Colitis, IBS, random foods start giving your new allergic reactions and you start vomiting to random foods that used to be OK as your body gets more compromised and your immune system more confused as undigested proteins get into...
  14. So I normally blend my own protein powders, pea protein for iron, pumpkin for various vitamins and minerals like zinc, Iron, K, etc. the build form there with sancha inchi, flax, chia, etc to get my proteins. I have some odd issues with multiple food intolerance, recently learned my xantham gum issue is only from corn derived xantham gum, artificial sweeteners...
  15. Well bleach will help loosen the proteins to clean up ....it does not destroy them. Think of gluten proteins like blood proteins not germs (gluten is smaller). You have to clean it so the CSI tech can not swab it and find DNA.....Bonus 500F+ destroys gluten so the oven self clean cycle can be used to decon silverware, and some pans. When cooking or...
  16. 500F+ will destroy gluten proteins, Oven Self clean cycles exceed this and a commercial oven can go to 550F. A hour or so at this should destroy all gluten. Unfortunately dishwashers now days use the rinse water from once cycle to clean in the next cycle to save water.....yeah not so good for CC issues now days. For Bunt pans or thinks with a ton...
  17. gluten-free Harvest follows very strict oat protocols not the mechanical separation others use. But here are some grainless options from my food list Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link ^Grain free Granola and Nut based hot cereal/porridge Open Original Shared Link *^Low Carb Sugar Free Grain free Cereal Open Original...
  18. SO we did menu testing and knocked it down to 3 fore sure lines for lunch/dinner that people liked....several things and thoughts were cut. And a issues with the paleo English muffins and tortillas were cost and consistent sourcing, they might come back later. Paleo Burgers, built with Turkey Burger Patties, between 2 chunks of iceberg lettuce served...
  19. Was in a hurry this morning but a bit of follow up on the intolerance/allergies, Dairy, with Celiac our villi are eroded/destroyed and they produce the enzymes to break it down so we get intolerance to the lactose in them. Further damage and leaky gut can make these reactions progress to immune responses which brings up getting more allergies, sensitivities...
  20. I would be more careful with the granola then the milk lol. But yeah the milk thing is beacause the enzymes to break down the milk are produced by the villi in your intestines....cealic destroys the villi and there goes your ablity to digest milk and the undigested sugars and proteins can cause all kinds of havoc to the body from gas, bloat to vomiting and...
  21. Yeah big one, the enzymes to break down lactose in milk come from the villi....the ones celiac destroys. Years later I still can not have anything with dairy. Other claim they can have it after awhile of healing. Personally I had a issue with for over a decade....and brain washed myself into that it was evil pus filled stuff for baby cows not humans...
  22. If you suspect celiac there is a blood test and you need to request the full panel from your doctor and keep eating gluten til all testing is done. After the blood test they will do a endoscope and biopsy to check for damage. Open Original Shared Link Constipation used to be one of my symptoms, and was made worse by Magnesium Deficiency from damaged...
  23. I make a simple flat bread out of eggs and coconut flour in a skillet think the recipe is on my profile in one of my recipe blogs. Califlour foods makes a plant based pizza crust that can be used as a flat bread or baked into crisp. Thai Kitchen Makes curry paste that is gluten free....make your curries from scratch it with, I used to make a great one...
  24. Bakers yeast is different then brewers yeast. I had to give up yeast around the time I gave up gluten, it made me bloat. Fletchmans yeast is Gluten free and you can find it in most stores. Open Original Shared Link NOT all breads need yeast, I have run a bakery for years and we do not use yeast. Yeast is used as a leavening agent, and takes time and...
  25. This disease never goes away, gluten free for life is the medicine to keep you healthy. Fact he shows no damage just means he is adhering to the diet and doing great. Sounds like he was blessed to get diagnosed so early and not end up with complications (I am honestly very jealous of him). As long as he strictly stick to the diet he will stay that way...
