  1. I know you all must be getting tired of seeing me with a thread like this. I had another great experience. I just get so excited when I have these I have to share them with everyone. It was at the Chilis in Toms River, NJ. Again the hostesses know nothing about the gluten free menu. I got the manager and he knew enough about celiacs to impress me....
  2. I had been using the Lipton Onion Soup Mix all the time. I use it to make a dip. I never had any problems with it. Now I am wary to use it. Thanks for all the info
  3. wasnt there a company online that sells gluten free oatmeal? I thought I saw a thread about it on here and I cannot find it now. I would love to know it if anyone has it. Been dying for regular old granola. Thanks
  4. I am also another jersey girl.. but obviously my name has nothing to do with it. Had to add my two cents into the jersey thing. Central Jersey... shore. My name happens to come from ummm.. Tinkerbell... another obvious one.. from the famed Peter Pan. I love Disney. Besides it is the name of my beautiful cat. She is a ragdoll, and I named her Tinkerbell...
  5. Chelsea.. It took me forever to get thru this post. I am not sure if you will even read this. I want to let you know just like others have, that you will be missed on here. Your information and wit was very appreciated by me. You helped me so much with your information. I love the fact that you want to be a chef and would love to be kept updated on...
  6. Congrats marcia.. glad to hear that you are feeling better. it only gets better!! welcome to the club. and no one needs an "official" diagnosis to be here. you are welcome either way!
  7. wow.. I am surprised at how many people have cheated and/or still think of it. I have only been gluten free since Oct 2005 and there is no way I would cheat on purpose. I dont even think of the consequences, its just not an option. I dont even think about gluteny foods. ok, I do get a hankering once in a blue moon for something, but it flies right...
  8. Thanks for that list. I also think it may explain a lot. I didnt know Palmolive might not be gluten free. That is what I am using now! darn it. I was using Crest. Anyone know about Aqua Fresh?? We just bought it the other day and its all I have now.
  9. evie.. thank you for enlightening myself as to what to look for. I hope you feel better and enjoy your weekend!! it sounds great!
  10. As was mentioned in another post.. my experiences with a salad bar is asking for trouble. I wouldnt trust anything on it. I have thrown caution into the wind and took some stuff from a Whole Foods salad/food bar. I got lucky and never have gotten sick. I only have done it twice and each time I know I am asking for trouble. And again, the breadcrumbs...
  11. woooohooo!!! congrats!!
  12. I use the same one as mamatide. In fact I am eating it now. I absolutely love it! I can eat a whole pie to myself. They are small pies. hehehe
  13. Oh Ursula ((((((((((()))))))))) I am so sorry you are having these problems. I have a weight problem too. And now that I am gluten free, I gained even more weight. When I was at my sickest, I was down to a size 16, the woman altering my wedding dress said I better not lose anymore weight. Boy would she be eathing her words now. I am terribly sorry...
  14. I am with debmidge.. do you think they would deliver to NJ?? they could hit both of us in one trip!!!
  15. I am glad you had a great experience there too. I am always excited when I find a restaurant that tries to understand and works with us.
  16. I love everyones pics! Its great to see peoples faces to relate to their names and their stories!
  17. I love the Carrabbas shrimp scampi too. I would ask about the flour issue too.
  18. I made my pizza dough and tried to refrigerate it until the next day.. didnt come out to well. I think maybe I will try baking and then freezing them.
  19. No, he just got upset. He didnt like being held there I imagine. When he was just a baby, 3 months early, he was a lot more cooperative with all their procedures. Now that he is getting older he realizes what is going on around him. And he just plain old doesnt like it!!!
  20. OK.. we are back from the doctors. Took a long time. The cardiologist said he is fine. The dialated aorta is still there, but on the Z scale ( um not quite sure what that is ) Colin is at a 3. A dangerous level is a 6 or more. He has been hanging on a 3 for a while now. He had a rough time with the ultrasound. He was great in the beginning. ...
  21. Yes yes yes! I finally got the nerve up to put mine up! If I can do it, anyone can!! I dont take nice pics at all! My avatar is obviously Colin ( hes the little one in the middle ) lol.. and me and my fiance Gary
  22. Yes there is a post on the menu. However, you have to check with them each month when you go, they may change their menu. That is at their request. Again another reason to give them some kudos! Judy- The Chilis I went to was in NJ. At Hamilton Square. Colin was asleep until we hit Route 195, I didnt have the heart to wake him.
  23. I read somewhere, maybe the Delphi list?, that Dora was gluten free. As I said, I am not sure where I read it, but I did see it somewhere as gluten free.
  24. Today on our way home from Philly we stopped at another Chilis. Of course when we got there, the hostess had no idea what gluten was, she was a youngin, and proceeded to tell me that they had nothing like a gluten free menu. That was when I told her to ask her manager. Well to make a long story shorter, I ordered a fabulous Honey BBQ Sirloin Steak...
  25. Yes you sure can Random. They put whatever you dont finish and want to take with you in a styrofoam carrier and into a bag. I hope you get there soon! You will love it
