  1. My dr. explained it (negative tests) to me with a "do you need a piece of paper to tell you it hurts when you shut your finger in the door? No, well - you don't need a piece of paper telling you that if you eat something you don't feel well"
  2. Personally, I can't wait to go on Jeorpary... "I'll have Food Intolerences for $800, Alex"
  3. That's the one I buy, I think it's Honey BBQ flavor. Good stuff!
  4. I forget who posted it, but the banana peanut butter muffins w/ chocolate chips are so darn YUMMY!! Esp. when warm out of the oven (or microwave)... mmm.. drooling, will have to make some soon.
  5. We make the Gluten Free Pantry pancakes and waffles... yum...
  6. Yes they do. I gave up dairy for a year (a very long year!), and then slowly worked it back into my diet. I can tell when I've gone overboard (gas) but now i have it almost every day.
  7. Be sure to throw out your contacts if you're wearing any, and any make-up that you may have worn while contagious. The hardest part for me is not wearing contacts while I have it!!
  8. I am SOOOO excited, I finally found some Tinkyada lasagna noodles and am going to be making a big pan of it tomorrow! I must have some garlic bread or breadsticks to go with it. I'm willing to make my own, I have some GFP bread mix and the baking mix, and some other flours here as well. I looked on the GFP site for a recipe, but under "breads" all they...
  9. While you're waiting to get the biopsy (and I agree you should continue your regular diet until then) take this time to read up. So many of us started "cold turkey" and it's made the learning curve very steep. You can read some books, surf this web site, understand what you can and can't have. Find some good recipies to try! I started with plain meats...
  10. When it happens to me, it means I've been eating a high fat food (potato chips usually!). It could also mean you are not absorbing enough nutrients.
  11. Helpful Hint: if you have left over rice, put it in a microwave safe bowl and put an ice cube right in the middle. Cover and microwave - the steam from the ice cube makes the rice moist and fluffly again!
  12. Great topic!! First I want the staff to be educated on what gluten is, what cross-contamination is and what is exactly in each menu item. I've had some waiters run back and forth to the kitchen to ask, while others look at me blankly. I'm so grateful that they take the time to check, rather then assume. I do worry about CC, but am not so alarmed by...
  13. My stomach has always been sensitive to stress. It's always the first thing to "go" when I have something major going on. My dr. reminds me that the gut is our "second brain" and has the same chemicals/hormones as our brain does, so if our brain is stressed it makes sense that the stomach feels it as well.
  14. I asked my CPA and she said that by claiming this on my taxes (assuming I could meet the 7.5% needed) she said she couldn't think of a bigger AUDIT ME red flag for the IRS. She encouraged the medical flex plan from my employer, but frankly I don't have time to track receipts and compare prices.
  15. Just wanted to sympathize. I've just started back to work full time this week, after being laid off for several months. I really loved being home. But alas, reality is here and I need a paycheck and benefits. I've also just started two classes, one of which is a film class and will be very time consuming watching a bunch of old foreign movies... thank...
  16. Remember the line from The Devil Wears Prada... "I'm only one stomach flu away from the next size down!" Hope you're feeling better and enjoyed your b-day!
  17. I eat Tostido's or Trader Joes.
  18. I've had mono, it's so awful. Send someone to the video store to stock up and just sleep, sleep, sleep. Feel better soon!
  19. At first I was very paranoid and stayed away, but now I do eat them. I agree with a previous poster that I don't scarf down the whole package the first couple times though; but I am always cautious with any new food.
  20. Sweetie - that's good information... thanks for sharing. Guess I'll have my brother place an order for the bread sticks and get them for his next visit... already drooling!!
  21. We absolutely do need to support a bakery, hopefully an every-day type cookie will have an every-day price. I'll contact my brother (who lives in E. Lansing) and see if he can swing by and get some goodies next time he's coming to visit.
  22. It's been a green Christmas, sorry no snow to share (although normally I'd love to get rid of it!!). Yesterday we played at the park with just light jackets on, it must have been 50 and sunny out!
  23. I just ordered some from Knickinkinck. And at my regular ol' grocery store they carry a canister of gluten-free corn flake crumbs, I was thrilled!
  24. I'm a big fan of Jose Curevo pre-mixed margaritas... just pour and serve!
  25. That's what's on their web site!!
