ARCHIVED Kombucha
Mango04 replied to Mango04's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
hmmm I wonder how much you're supposed to drink. i bought a bottled version of it from Whole Foods. It says its raw and organic, so i figure *maybe* that's the next best thing to making it yourself. it gave me insane amounts of energy. i was practically dancing in my cubicle. do you remember what came out about it? i don't know why i'm so curious about... -
LOL we need some sort of massive banner on the front page of the board that says "click here for McDonald's fries threads before you proceed" or something like that. Not that we ever get sick of talking about the fries.

ARCHIVED Any Genius Enterolab Result Interpreters Out There?
Mango04 posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
So I believe Enterolab telling me this is what I have: HLA-DQB1*0201, 0301 I'm trying to read all that other fun stuff that apparantly helps you interpret things, but I am lost. How do you know if you have two copies of a gene? What does the 0301 part mean? Is it saying I have one copy of the celiac gene and another copy of a gluten sensitivity... -

Mango04 replied to Mango04's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
According to the bottle - "it's a handmade Chinese tea that is delicately cultured for 30 days. All of these combine to create an elixir that immediately works with the body to resotre balance and vitality." It sounds powerful... -
ARCHIVED Vegan And gluten-free Diet....i Need Lots Of Help!

Use lentils (brown, red, green), beans (garbanzo, black, pinto, navy etc.), rice, nuts, vegetables, fruits, rice milk, almond milk, quinoa, buckwheat, healthy oils, spices, Earth Balance...you can do so much with those ingredients. There is a vegan market near me and many of their items are actually gluten free. Pick up a raw foods cook book or vegan cook... -

ARCHIVED How Do You Leviate Your Symptoms When Glutened?
Mango04 replied to kari's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Can you bring food with you? Maybe pack a cooler with lots of gluten-free food, or bring stuff like Tinkyada pasta and sauce and cook it for yourself and your relatives. I bet nobody will know the difference. You could also find a good grocery store or health food store when you get there and stock up on safe food for the week. If you tell them you're... -
ARCHIVED Anyone Know If The E-nergy Egg Replacement
Mango04 replied to danikali's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I've been completely dairy-free for about 10 years and I have just recently discovered I can tolerate raw goat cheese. I've read that the casein structure of goat's milk is much different than the casein structure of cow's milk. It has to be raw though for me to be able to tolerate it. Traces of pasteurized dairy still bother me. I wouldn't try it anytime... -
I don't know why but Kinnickinnik bagels always make me sick. They do contain a lot of odd-sounding ingredients. I also sometimes react to Thai Kitchen stuff. For me I believe it's the soy protein in those products that gives me a "glutened" type of reaction. I've noticed a definite trend on this board that involves people getting "glutened" by...

Pixi - I've been in similair situations as well. I think it's usually safer to order hard boiled eggs and fruit at a place like that. You probably have less of a cross cotamination risk that way.

ARCHIVED A Very Strange Question About Gum
Mango04 replied to Mango04's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
It's happened with all different types of gum. The one brand I don't have a problem with is Glee Gum (an all natural kind), but multiple other brands liquify for me. It is odd! -
Almost every time I chew gum, it liquifies in my mouth. I don't know how else to explain it. One minute it is gum, and then all of a sudden it disinegrates into this mushy disgusting liquid. I don't have to chew the gum for very long before this happens. Does this happen to anyone else? Maybe it is common, but I have only ever found one other person...
