ARCHIVED Ignorant Server Of The Day
wolfie replied to floridanative's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Oh boy....LOL!! I was on vacation last week and ate out a bunch of times. It was scary! I did try to frequent places I knew I could have faith in..PF Changs, Red Robin, Chik-fil-a, but happened into a Pizzeria Unos (nothing else close, or so I thought). I figured it couldn't be too bad b/c they had gluten-free info on their website, boy was I wrong. ... -
ARCHIVED Ben & Jerry's!
wolfie replied to penguin's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
YAY!!! Thanks for sharing!~ For those who can't eat dairy, I did see on their site that they have come out with 3 new sorbet flavors with no dairy/lactose. I wonder if they carry those in the scoop stores? I have yet to find them at my local grocery stores, but maybe b/c they are new in 2006. ChelsE beat me to it! -
ARCHIVED Pampered Chef Pantry Items
wolfie replied to angel-jd1's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks for sharing this! I was just invited to a Pampered Chef party yesterday! -
Hope you can avoid it!! I had this right after Christmas and have never been so sick. It was right before I got my test results back, so I had not gone gluten-free yet. I was already at a low weight, though, and had to go to the ER b/c I was dehydrated. I only had D and puked for 6 hours, but that was enough to make me have an IV for 4-5 hours. It took...

ARCHIVED Menstrual Irregularities
wolfie replied to a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
This is a really interesting thread. Since going gluten-free 3 months ago, my periods have definitely changed. First they were more frequent (every 20-21 days). Gyn ran a bunch of tests, nothing wrong, really. Now this month I am a week late (on day 35 now!!). WTH? I am fine with lighter periods b/c mine were ridiculous. I really think going gluten... -
I went on vacation last week and had the best gluten-free experience at Red Robin. They bent over backwards to make sure that I would be safe eating there. They made my burger in a seperate pan and b/c they couldn't guarantee that their spices were gluten-free, they suggested leaving them off before I could even ask them to. I was very impressed. It was...

ARCHIVED Jin Dandy Grits Now List Wheat On Label
wolfie replied to floridanative's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have been eating Quaker, but not the quick grits, I think they are called "old fashioned grits". I did look and seems I did buy the quick grits this past time. Why can't you eat the Quaker? Did they change something that I missed? LOL! The label looked okay. -
I am going tonight and I am crossing my fingers that the fries are made in a dedicated fryer b/c they are SO yummy!!! I haven't had a french fry since going gluten-free and am really craving some!

ARCHIVED Why Go Through Endoscopy?
wolfie replied to radman's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I did not go through the endoscopy. My PCP ran bloodwork at the request of my nutritionist and found elevated IgG levels (unfortunately she did not run a full Celiac panel, so I didn't have the other numbers to go off of). She told me to go gluten-free, so I did. I then saw a gastro who wanted to do the endoscopy, but I had to go back to eating gluten... -
ARCHIVED Amy, I Thought You Were My Friend!
wolfie replied to penguin's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I posted a couple weeks ago about the enchilada bowl and being glutened too! I am sorry that you are feeling bad I won't be buying any more Amy's for now and I really like the rice mac & cheese, but not enough to feel that way again. Hope you are feeling better soon!!! -
That all sounds wonderful!!! Do those crusts come frozen? I will have to give them a try! The only pizza/crust I have tried since going gluten-free is the 6 inch Foods By George cheese pizza. Thanks for sharing!

ARCHIVED Oats: Who Eats Them?
wolfie replied to Ksmith's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I don't eat them, but then again, I never really ate them before I went gluten-free either unless they were in a cookie! -
ARCHIVED Treats?
wolfie replied to mbg98's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I do believe that Snickers bars are gluten-free. I eat M & M's, Hershey's Kisses, Gummi Savers, Starburst, Skittles. For brownies I make the Gluten Free Pantry Chocolate Truffle Brownie Mix. I make my regular chocolate chip cookies with gluten-free flour and they come out great. Lots of ice creams/sorbets are gluten free. Hope this helps some... -

ARCHIVED Anemia.....just Happend Upon Some Blood Test Results
wolfie posted a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I was looking for my son's birth certificate so he would go to baseball tryouts and happened upon my labwork from 10/2005, before I found out about my gluten intolerance/Celiac. My RBC (red blood cell) count was marked low at 4.14 (normal range is 4.2 - 6.10). My dr never said anything about this being a problem and said all results were fine. I have been... -
ARCHIVED Rib Pain
wolfie replied to guy220d's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I have had this before too. Mine seems to coincide with other gas pains that I am having when I notice it. The other day I noticed it when I think I had some cross contamination issues with something that I ate. I was not feeling well for a good 24-36 hours and rib pain was part of it. Sorry I am not more help as to why, but at least you know you aren... -
ARCHIVED Foods By George Pizza....
wolfie posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Just tried the Foods By George Cheese Pizza tonight..YUM!!! It wasn't cheap, but very worth it. The rest of the family had ordered Pizza Hut and I had just run across this pizza at my local health food store today. I was very impressed with it! I will probably dress it up some next time with some veggies. Just wanted to share as I know that I am... -
ARCHIVED Where Is Your Stomach Pain Located
wolfie replied to gointribal's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I have pain above the belly button and in the rib area and also below. Not sure why the difference, but it has gotten A LOT better since I went gluten-free. I am sure it was all related somehow with me. -
ARCHIVED Does Anyone Use Antihistamin Drugs?
wolfie replied to elisabet's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I still take Claritin. Seems to work okay for me. -
That is the latest one I have received as well. I signed up in January too and got the Fall 2005 issue about 3-4 weeks ago.

ARCHIVED Diddo On The Neg Test Results
wolfie replied to Sandyo's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Sorry you aren't feeling well. It is an all or nothing thing...if you are gluten intolerant, only a gluten-free diet will help you feel better. Same with Celiac....life long adherance to a gluten-free diet. To my knowledge Frosted Flakes are not gluten-free. You can still have gluten intolerance and/or Celiac with negative blood work. If the diet makes... -
Oh that is ridiculous! I agree...call and ask to get on a cancellation list or get your file and ask for a referral to another gastro. Hope you get some relief soon!

I like Millstone (can get at Walmart). They have lots of flavors to choose from and they are all gluten-free! I am drinking hazelnut cream now. The raspberries & cream is really yummy too!
