  1. These guys Open Original Shared Link say you might get gluten in the adhesive they seal tea bags with. personally, tea that I've had really agrees with me. In fact I'm going to go brew a cup!
  2. I'd get it if it wouldn't scare the little kids I'll be teaching, lol. I love things like that. Now I've just got a collection of humorous cat t shirts that always get attention. Back in the day I'd wear very shocking things, especially in grad school. It was the norm to be as shocking as possible in art school!
  3. Thank you everyone. Teaching art is my passion. So happy to be able to do it again,
  4. That's awesome! I have a lot to contribute
  5. Congratulations! personally I took a big horse pill of a prenatal chock full of iron that the obgyn recommended each time I was pg. Do what your doc recommends. They should do a test to see if you need it or not, and if so, about how much you need.
  6. Miss a cancer! That's awful for the doc to say that.
  7. I was just wondering. Sorry to be so intrusive! I always wonder about how well insurance covers these things. I'm so happy it's working out for you to do so. Ok, I'll be honest... I'm super nosey, lol.
  8. What is the success rate for the blood tests?
  9. Oh my, I can identify with choking on lousy gluten-free bread! Poor kiddos!
  10. After a ton of job interviews, I got a great job offer this morning! Will be working full time at a public elementary school! Perfect job, lovely principal, very supportive sounding. Job starts in late august so only a bit more of working pt. Not that I don't love what I'm doing now- I'm a support professional helping a woman with disabilities- but the pay...
  11. I applaud Gemini's post. I have not found it hard nor isolating, except at first when sorting out hidden gluten sources. I was so happy to have my pain decrease that I would have been happy if I only was eating potatoes,. As it is, there's such a huge range of foods you can eat that it's rather healthy and it's fun to explore what you can make. Even on a...
  12. Does your health insurance cover the monthly testing?
  13. Thanks! Making it soon!
  14. Are you in the us or U.K. Or other? heres where we started discussing it in march
  15. Make sure to do a google search on carnival cruise gluten-free and see if there are any other forums to copy this to. How outrageous!
  16. I used to have them very frequently. My on put me on an prophylactic disease of macrobid years ago which knocked them down. But you know what? I stopped taking the med and after I went gluten-free, I haven't had even one! So not sure if it's related or if drinking more water and urinating more frequently helped. ..... but it's so much nicer than it was 1...
  17. Lol, or they get paid by the word so they just throw more in, hoping people don't question them. And thanks. I was hoping it wasn't something new they threw in when I wasn't looking.
  18. Since when have dairy and eggs been prohibited during Lent? I've not heard of this in my 5 decades of being catholic?
  19. Thanks for the clarification! Made it sound like people were bringing in their own udi's bread!
  20. Here's slightly more info Open Original Shared Link but GMO's are ok? so people were bringing store bought bread in for communion? What about the gluten-free hosts made by the nuns? Can someone pls explain celiac to the Pope? He's a smart guy.....!
  21. There's certainly nothing wrong with going off dairy. I had to for at least a year. It's hard at first but you get used to it! I wish you good luck.
  22. I agree totally with Karen. It can be done on a budget. We do. Our trick is we don't buy much except for noodles that are from the gluten-free aisle. I mostly eat foods that are whole that my husband cooks for me. Mostly ethnic dishes actually that the whole family eats. I don't do the expensive gluten-free bread. I just can't enjoy it as it costs so much...
