  1. I used to use Fleishmann's Unsalted sticks for dairy free, but our stores do not carry it anymore. Also, I think, Fleishmann's light in the tub was dairy free. Check the label if you can get it. Now I use Crystal Farms (blue box) sticks (I forget whether it says corn oil or canola oil onit. Anyway, she likes it ok too.

  3. Yummy! Thanks for that!!
  4. I also LOVE this cookbook... I have made several things and made only slight modifications. We only have sorghum flour/tapioca/potato starch as our flour mix and everything I've made has turned out great. I currently have the book from the library, but I'm going to buy it! I've made the fig bars (but left out the figs and spread it w/raspberry jam...

  6. Hi all ... I made this for dinner on Cinco de Mayo and it was scarfed up by my family. I subbed Woodchuck Draft Cider (Amber) for the beer and used 1/3c. Gluten Free Pantry Taco Seasoning. Next time, I may try homemade Chicken Stock as another reviewer did. Try It!! Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup (from Allrecipes.com) Slow Cooker Chicken...
  7. I can't buy the pre-mixes for bread or pizza but have found a couple recipes on-line that work great. For the pizzas, I just make about 4 crusts, prebake and then freeze. When we need a pizza, then I top it. It's at www.savorypalate.com The bread recipe I have been using and she loves the best actually has "bread holes". It seems to work best...
  8. We have an air popper, but like I said, have used the Act II Kettle Corn. I read that same artice about the filmy stuff and got grossed out. My dd just asked for popcorn so I did it in a brown bag. It worked great, except I put too much in so ended up w/it coming out of the bag. I'm not sure I'm comfortable w/the staples. She's eating it happily right...
  9. I have used Act II Kettle Korn for microwave popcorn... however, I just ran out and am going to try regular popcorn popped in a brown bag for another option. Trying to cut out as much artificial stuff out of our diets.

  13. Just an FYI for everyone... I was just drooling over the Kitchenaid on amazon after getting a Mothers Day email from them. For now through the end of the month, their is some sort of rebate that you get to pick a free attachment (grinder, juicer or something else). Did you get that rebate Lorka? So what's the difference in what it does between the...
  14. I have Dangerous Grains on hold @ the library and also saw that they have a couple of Bette Hagman cookbooks too that I want to request.. can you check it out at the library first and then buy? A cookbook that I rented that has some great recipes and I'll probably buy is "The Incredible Edible Gluten Free Food for Kids by Sheri L. Sanderson.

  16. I'm not sure where I've been, then, cuz I just heard of it last week. She took it for lunch today I hope it survives in the thermos! She was so excited to have a "pasta".. can't have the wonderful Tinkyada pasta and doesn't like the quinoa-corn pasta. Next time I make it, I may just make a few of them and ditch the wheat pasta that the...
  17. ((Chrissy, Kassie and Tianna)) ~ I will keep her and your family in my prayers. Sounds like you are on the road to getting her some help.
  18. I made spaghetti squash tonight and served it w/spaghetti sauce. My dd and I loved it! It came out like angel hair pasta & was delicious. Has anyone else discovered this??
  19. I'd love it too! On another message board I post at we have a "What's For Dinner" board that we all post what we are having for dinner and recipes when requested... noone else deals w/the dietary restrictions that I do but I get ideas from them and it sometimes gives me inspiration. Maybe some of you would like to do that too.. ?
