ARCHIVED The American Idol Thread...2008
Cheri A replied to blueeyedmanda's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
So, what did everyone think of the guys last night? I took a trip through memory lane. I was in high school in the 80's, so had a memory of most of the songs they sang last night. I about fell off my couch when Paula told the first guy that she was glad he wasn't wearing Dolphin shorts to sing that Wham! song. I really do not like that Danny guy... -

I think so too, Julie. I feel bad for Jason too. I wasn't buying it either. I purposely turned that off, lol. I could tell that she would get on my nerves. I normally like that show though. It's fun for us to play at home. -

Oh, my! I'm so sorry!! Can you call and get a loaner?! I've never heard of a KA doing that! My bread recipe only requires 3 minutes of mixing. -
ARCHIVED Port St Lucie & Fort Lauderdale, Fl
Cheri A replied to elefky's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
We ate at Smoky Bones on Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale successfully. Good prices too. We also ate at Pizza Fusion. My daughter loved that she could actually have a restaurant pizza. It was pretty expensive, but worth it for her. Do NOT eat at Outback Steakhouse, Federal Highway and 62nd Street, Fort Lauderdale They did not know what they... -

Wow, I actually forgot last night. I need to set up TIVO, but it conflicts with Biggest Loser. I love that show too. I was working from home. I'll watch tonight. I caught most of the guys show. I felt sorry for Jason Yaeger too. Simon is so mean sometimes. -
ARCHIVED Quinoa The Superfood
Cheri A replied to FinsUp's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Thanks! I haven't made quinoa in a while. My family is not super crazy about it, but they will eat it with black beans, rice, and sauteed veggies. -

Where is everyone?? Now that it is down to 24 people, I'll start watching AI. I watched the guys last night. I liked a few of them. Some them I really didn't care for (like the Ellen DeGeneres look-alike). Um, what's up with Paula's puffy face? I'm going to try to watch tonight, but I'm leaving town in the morning so I'm not sure... -

We use Seventh Generation also. Now my hubby doesn't have an excuse not to wash dishes. The other stuff gave him eczema. -
ARCHIVED Everyday Minerals - Great gluten-free Mineral Make-up!
Cheri A replied to Mango04's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Wow, that is very interesting. I am wondering the same thing about cool versus warm. On my first free kit, I got fair medium, multi tasking neutral, and medium. I liked the medium the best. On this next kit, I ordered medium summer in original glo and intensive to round out the cool collection. I also ordered medium beige. I will try that today... -
ARCHIVED I Need A Rolled Sugar Cookie Recipe
Cheri A replied to Darn210's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I just wanted to post that I made Patti's Easy Gluten Free Cookie recipe again on Valentines Day. I dyed the dough pink and cut them out with hearts. They came out spectacular! Everyone loved them, including gluten lovers. My modifications are using a sorghum, potato starch, tapioca starch blend and using 1/4 cup of applesauce to sub for egg. I did... -

Hi ladies, I still haven't played with my new eye shadows. I'm going to need an organizer too, I think, even though I am much further behind some of you. I will admit that I have been wearing make up every day for awhile now, which is very different for me. No gym membership so I can't achieve that status. I will have to page back to all of... -
ARCHIVED Everyday Minerals - Great gluten-free Mineral Make-up!
Cheri A replied to Mango04's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I just got my order of eye shadows that I split with my friend--now to remember who ordered what! I also the free kit of apple blush, the foundations that I didn't get before in the "cool" section, and a few from the other. I'll be playing make-up soon! -

ARCHIVED Sharing A Heart-warming Story.
Cheri A replied to jayhawkmom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Wow, those stories are so touching! I'll add one too. My daughter came home with valentines with tons of candy that she couldn't eat (see my siggy for all of the allergies). One friend, who also has allergies, bought her candy that she could have. Everyone else got something else. She was thrilled that they thought specifically of her. We, also... -
ARCHIVED Letting Others Cook For Your Child
Cheri A replied to dandelionmom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I don't let others cook for our dd either. I make whatever she needs to take with her. Other people have good intentions but are just not used to having to prepare meals or cook the way that we do. It isn't worth the risk of her getting sick. -
ARCHIVED Please Say Prayers Or Send Good Thoughts For My Dad
Cheri A replied to Glutenfreefamily's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
((hugs)) and prayers for your dad and family as well. My step father had elective knee replacement surgery last year. He has had a long, hard recovery too. -
ARCHIVED Kitchen Bouquet Browning & Seasoning Sauce
Cheri A replied to Darn210's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Thanks! I usually just use cornstarch and spices for gravy. I make my own beef and chicken stock, though. So mine is not pale, it's dark because of the onion skins. -
ARCHIVED Gluten And Rice Intolerance?
Cheri A replied to WeThreeEs's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Our dd is also allergic to rice. I bake mostly with sorghum flour/tapioca starch/cornstarch or potato starch. Any recipes that call for rice flour are easily changed to sorghum flour. She loves potatos and quinoa. ((hugs)) -

I also wanted to link to another post that is on the Publicity Board. One of the employees cannot eat gluten and has suggested a magazine for people with allergies and celiac... -
ARCHIVED Everyday Minerals - Great gluten-free Mineral Make-up!
Cheri A replied to Mango04's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi Terri ~ a little bit goes a long way. There is a link on their page that really helped me a lot. I really love this make up more and more every day. The first time I used it, I wasn't so sure! There are some real make-up queens on here that are much more knowledgeable than me. I am still sitting with my cart unordered right now. -
I am just seeing this thread ~ I voted, and will send it on to as many people as I can.

ITA with the previous poster about all of the added colors, dyes, MSG that in in most of all of the packaged foods. Maybe it will be helpful to someone else. Open Original Shared Link
