Thanks for the chuckle!!!!!! The OBX is in North Carolina! It's really The Outer Banks. Its so beautiful! But I haven't seen any nudist there. Not saying its not possible, but really not the "family" type experience we're going for! Lollie

Do you think it will subside? Like yesterday, I was fine. I was happy and getting all the running done. Then I got sick. Stopped me in my tracks. I wasn't sad yesterday. But then today, as the physical subsides, now this almost crushing weight of BLAH!!!!! I think I will go outside and get some fresh air. Sometimes, this disease is just ridiculous...

Hi all! My family is going in 2 weeks to stay a week and a half in the OBX!!!!! I'm very much looking forward to it! I thought I would put a request out to see if anyone had traveled there and if anyoone had any suggestions of where I could eat safely while there!!!!!! I'm going to continue my search, but first hand experiences seem more valuable...

Can any one tell why the depression when you get accidental gluten in your diet? I got glutened yesterday, an over site on my part, and I was sick yesterday....numerous trips to the bathroom, nauseous, ect.... But now today, I'm just so down, and I get frustrated at little things so easy. It's not like me to be like this, except when I get some gluten...

Lollie replied to Rachel--24's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I'm so glad you gave it a try! I thought it was really yummy myself! I'm going to try to make it in my jumbo muffin tins as a "bun"! We'll see! I thought it took it a while to bake yesterday, but like I said, I was so busy trying to cook Easter dinner.....I didn't keep up with any of the timing. I just kept checking in on them! They were really easy... -
ARCHIVED Bad Experience At Lunch...
Lollie replied to frenchiemama's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Well I'm glad your DH was really good about it! Even if they were really nice, surely they didn't really think that if they just removed the bread, it would solve the problem. Of course you wanted new food, that was the whole point! I still stick to, you shouldn't feel bad at all, other then that you didn't get to eat with the family! But that's not your... -
ARCHIVED Bad Experience At Lunch...
Lollie replied to frenchiemama's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
you know, I don't blame you for not eating. It is so frustratating to ask for something simple, but specific. Have the manager come to your table, and still do it wrong. I mean, really, you could have just taken the bread off the plate yourself if that was all they were going to do. Maybe next time you can tell them all about CC and what it does to you... -

Lollie replied to Jnkmnky's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I was vegitarian for health reasons for abourt 5 years, the last 3 I have been mostly vegitarian. I often only eat meat once a week. I only will eat meat that I know where it came from and all that. I like the free range, all natural, all organic, air chilled meat. I get it at whole foods. I feel better about it. I haven't had any problems being... -

ARCHIVED First Loaf Of Bread
Lollie replied to Rachel--24's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Rachel- I'll throw in my two cents- I love my bread maker! I use it all the time. It only took me about a week of that frozen stuff to decide I could make it myself, cheaper and better! I wish I had a good recipe to share with you but my favorite has eggs and sour cream. If you want it anyway, maybe you have good substitutes, I would be happy to post... -
ARCHIVED Vegetarian Diet & Celiac
Lollie replied to cricket512's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
i've been vegitarian for about 8 years. I now consume some meat products, only fully organic natural ones and only about once a week. I have always relied heavily on dairy and eggs. I eat beans and lentils, and all the fresh fruit and vegies I can put in. I love rice and corn tortillas. I make my own rolls from potato starch. PM me if you want some... -
ARCHIVED What To Eat When Your Tummy Hurts?
Lollie replied to skinnyminny's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Sorry to here you feel so bad-but I do understand! For me, I always have rice. I really like the jasmine rice, it has a nutty kind of flavor. Also, if you can do dairy, I like cottage cheese and yogurt. Those tend to get me through when I feel really icky! Hope your better soon! Lollie -
Yeah, I haven't been taking very good care of myself, and I haven't eaten well..... I had DH pick up some good food from the Central Market on the way home, so hopeful now I will feel better. But I think probably I will feel better when Kinzie feels better! She took a long nap this afternoon, and when she woke up she was back up to 102! I hope I...

Thanks guys!!! I kind of figured it's the stress- but it is so nice to have others agree and affirm! My baby is doing better today. We went to the doc this morning, her lungs sounded good, but the doc went ahead and prescribed the normal anibiotics and vapor treatments. In case she gets worse. I'm really hoping she fights it back this time! Lollie...

This won't be very helpful for you, sorry! I am into this for 4 months now myself. I too was feeling great almost immidiately. But now I have more bad days then good. Why? I wondered if there is some turning point in the healing at this particular time, because it seems to be common. I'm trying to just keep on the course, and I have great hope that...

I have a question: Can you have a gluten type reaction from stress? I have been feeling well for a week or so (since my last accidental glutening) and then today I feel like someone beat me up and I keep running to the bathroom. I don't think I got any gluten this time, but my little girl is sick and that stresses me out big time. I didn't really get...
