  1. I've been using Stagg's Silverado low fat chlli for sometime as it was reported by celiac groups to be gluten-free. Stagg recently has started listing it (and the "Chunkero" style as well) as gluten-free on the label. Yeah, Stagg! I warn you though, this is not a chllie for the tender-mouthted! Steve

  4. Anybody tried Vans Wheat Free/Gluten free Gourmet waffles? Everytime I eat them I get a gut ache and indigestion. Anyone else experience this with this product? I wonder what it cold be. I don't see anything in the ingredient list that causes me concern. Steve
  5. Benefiber used to be made from guar gum but the company has recently switched to wheat dextrin. Not sure if that would present a problem for celiacs or not. I guess it would depend on how pure the wheat dextrin is, i.e. contamination. Steve

  13. I had a CT of my abdomen recently with contrast, i.e., had to drink the barium milkshake. I inquired about it containing gluten on the day I scheduled the appointment. The radiology tech researched it and the next day had the info that it was gluten free. So, make sure you ask and get them to check it out. Steve

The frustrating thing to me is I still have most of the muscle strength I d id 20 years ago and enough aerobic capacity left to still exercise vigorously but my bones and joints are beginning to let me down.   20. Why do you say that you already knew that your girls have celiac disease, despite negative biopsies? My understanding is that the positive biopsy has always been the gold standard of celiac diagnosis. Do your girls have other symptoms that you have definitely connected to gluten consumption? Steve
  21. Try 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in 8 oz. of water. Works better than any over the counter antacid. Might not be a good idea if you have high blood pressure because of the sodium content, however. Steve
  22. Yeah, I was going to suggest gall bladder problems too. Either not having one or one that is nonfunctional. Have you had your gall bladder tested. They do an ultra sound to check for stones (blockage) and something called a hideascan to check for poor ejection factor. Steve
