  1. Torture! I'm tempted to lick the computer screen!
  2. What about writing a cookbook (Laurie, if you care to share some of your experience?) I did run across Mr. Sipps that was looking for products to supply school lunch products. Perhaps you could find the right company to work with for selling the recipe. You might be specialized to Kosher products too.
  3. OK. Get the full written report. Did you get pictures of the scoping? While this may seem like a step backward, it still has some valid information for you. The scoping may have been delayed too long to show the full picture. Keep a food journal. I say journal, because activities need to be listed. (i.e. Going to visit farm animals and feeding...
  4. I have been to Farmer's market in our state. They put a sticker on it saying it was not made in a commercial kitchen. (I don't know how that stays in compliance with the commercial kitchen law?) Can you go to a farmer's market and ask a merchant? There is a commercial kitchen rental business going on in states that make it a requirement. Farmer...
  5. You should get a referral to a pediatric gastroenterologist. Don't change her diet yet! The doctor will do an endoscopy with biopsy. This can give you a full diagnoses. There are other disorders that have the same symptoms of Celiac. (some of which can be related to Celiac.)
  6. I questioned how low it was. That is why I wanted to let you know about being Celiac and IGA deficiency. It really can throw off the Celiac panel for diagnoses.
  7. I agree with the previous posters. I do want to explain that 30% of Celiacs are IGA deficient. That is why the TOTAL IGA test was suggested.
  8. Yes Canada has a beer machine that can only be accessed by showing a Canadian passport. Brilliant! I love watching Canadian coverage of the Olympics! I got to see the US men's hockey game as it was being played. (I don't want to stay up late to see it, and the final score was obviously leaked. )
  9. I don't know the scoring system. Canada stories from the Olympics are so cool. Stories of kindness to other competitors and the BEER machine! Ok so today I am taken with the US men's ski sweep. Gus Kensworthy adopted how many puppies? I hope those puppies don't chew his medal to shreds. LOL That is too cute!
  10. Congratulations Canada! That was a close hockey game.
  11. The girl from South Korea is really fantastic! I am pleasantly surprised by the little Russian girl too. Japan has a top notch ladies skater too. Patriotic or not, talent can not be overlooked. I am really disappointed about the "team competition". I have been waiting a lifetime to see Precision (now called synchronized) skating as an Olympic event...
  12. We can rag about any product, or situation here. (As long as you aren't making a personal attack to a member/poster.) It really doesn't matter what the cookies taste like. If a scout asks me to buy cookies, I buy cookies. It is really nice to have the "For the Troupes" option. Grab a box for a local packing party of care boxes for service men and...
  13. We skipped the endoscopy because my daughter was too sick to have it done at 15 months old. Positive blood panel and 2 Celiac genes. Then when she was 6, the endoscopy was done to diagnose Eosinophilic Esophagitis. Unfortunately Celiac and EE are related and you have just stated 2 symptoms of EE along with Celiac. Trouble sleeping and vomiting (this...
  14. I wish we could ship some of the extra snow off to states that need it (in this situation)., not from having Nestle pump off the Great Lakes and sell it. All the extra snow might stave off some of the damage Nestle has been doing. The Great Lakes have been shrinking. Those are some strange laws about green lawn. I have also seen what I call "dead zones...
  15. The schools have run out of snow days. The roads have been plowed well enough to have school today even though the wind chill was at negative 22 degrees. More snow for Saturday! We are going to be battling flooding when all this (record setting) starts to melt.
  16. I would have bought all that stuff too. I was recently taken in by chocolate covered almonds. It was the Stevia that must have gotten to me though, not gluten. A word of warning that is just something I noticed... Celiacs complain a lot about dried fruit products. I have noticed I have a hard time with foods high in Iron. Dried fruit tends to...
  17. If you use an app, guide, or even advice give here ~ you still need to READ THE LABEL everytime. Cocco Puffs cereal kept changing the recipe or releasing old stock of cereal with new. It was just a nightmare, every other box changed from gluten free to gluten. That was 4 or 5 years ago. I've been gluten free for about 10 years. I still bought yeast...
  18. There is spaghetti squash for a pasta alternative. I would spring it on her for a while though, she might have to really miss pasta to be enthused. Try hummus for a creamy "cheesey" alternative. Romaine lettuce leaves as "sandwich" wraps. I do suggest you keep plenty of "safe" foods on hand, even if it is junk food. Children are bombarded with...
  19. Hi, I have some experience eliminating all top 8 allergens and peas. Since rice is on your list ~ flour blends are going to be more your own design. tapioca -thick and wet very dense, chesnut -I don't have a lot of experience with, almond flour-denser flour, corn starch can be used in a flour mix, millet - my gut didn't do great with that, still thinking...
  20. Glad to hear from you! I am sending you warm wishes for a great camp! Hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst is my motto for sending the kids anywhere. I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised that more people are getting informed for food stuffs. (I usually send an extra foot locker of food. There are some shelf stable microwave meals...
  21. YES We had improvement on a gluten free diet and then had "gluten symptoms" flare up again. My daughter was diagnosed with Celiac when she was 15 months old. Things went great on a gluten free diet until 5 1/2 years old she was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Esophagitis when she turned 6. There is now a known link between Celiac and EE. (an important...
  22. I won't even try to give you an article link. I've seen many. I will tell you from experience, yes there were many symptoms of Celiac when my daughter was a newborn. Projectile vomiting, "D" diapers with mucous and sometimes it was green ~ not the light mustard color of normal breastfed newborns, very tired and pale, and she ate all the time and was not...
  23. I found a 3 flavor multipack of Natural Origins bars at Costco. Cranberries and Cashews Pistachios and mixed berries and I ate all of the Apple and fig bars
  24. Definitely sending you some positive thoughts!
