  1. Your post is quite confusing, at least to me. Was it the vitamins or the zinc that said it contains wheat? If it's the zinc, why does your title say there's wheat in the vitamins. If it's the vitamins, what does the zinc have to do with it? Sorry, just trying to get it clearer. richard
  2. Not in the U.S. that I know of. richard

    ARCHIVED Chili's

I strongly advise against walking out of bar or restaurant without paying a bill. Unless you don't mind being arrested. richard
  4. Haggis!!! Chitterlings. richard
  5. in the U.S., pretty much every ketchup and mayo is gluten-free. A handful of specialty mustards have either wheat or barley but it's pretty much listed in the ingredients. But don't use old jars that have been dipped into by a knife that might have bread crumbs. richard
  6. Go with the GI. He's the "expert" on celiac. And, yes, it definitely sounds like you have it. richard
  7. You've ABSOLUTELY got to find somebody connected with the dining halls to talk to. You cannot do this by guessing or by asking questions online. Even with help, the cross contamination will be difficult as will last-minute changes in ingredients. richard
  8. I think this is pretty standard for various autoimmune conditions. richard
  9. I took dapsone for DH for 20 years and the DH cleared almost immediately after I went gluten-free. Haven't had it since. OTOH, I developed psoriasis AFTER I went gluten-free.. richard
  10. I'm not sure where folks here live, but while I grow a bunch of my own herbs, there's any number of spices I use regularly that cannot be grown where I am. richard
  11. Actually, I was replying to the original poster.. richard
  12. I've never had a reaction that I know of. richard
  13. Didn't realize that BB had changed gravy ingredients. The gravy used to have wheat, which always caused confusion because people would think they were reading the turkey ingredients and when they saw wheat, they thought the turkey wasn't gluten-free. In fact, they were reading the gravy ingredients. I'll have to check it out! richard
  14. Seafood caused me no problems whatsoever, and I had DH for more than 20 years. Oysters are lower in iodine than many other things, including milk, and prawns are actually very low (shrimp is much higher). Might be something psychological going on. You expected itching and you got it. richard
  15. Eggs are safe. richard
  16. There are no Butterballs that aren't gluten-free unless there's a pre-stuffed one. As Peter said, there is a separate gravy packet with some but it's double or triple wrapped and any leakage would be obvious. richard
  17. As everybody else said, did you actually read the ingredients and make sure the flavor you got was gluten-free? Most of their flavors are indeed gluten-free, but not all. richard
  18. I wouldn't be concerned in the least. In the same facility doesn't even mean in the same room, much less on the same line. And it's jumped through all the hoops for certification. Very little of the food we buy is "certified." richard
  19. The blood type theory has been proposed and is bunk. richard
  20. Highly unlikely. I'd never say impossible, but very uncommon. richard
  21. In the U.S. maltodextrin is virtually never made from wheat and if it is, it must by law be listed. Hence, maltodextrin is absolutely not a concern unless wheat is listed. richard
  22. It is possible that you're now more sensitive and it's also possible you're having some withdrawal -- neither of which ever happened to me -- but it's also possible you're just driving yourself temporarily crazy worrying about everything -- which DID happen to me. richard
  23. Anybody who has a butcher who cuts the meat and then adds seasonings or blends to it on the same counter should consider looking for another store. Quite unsanitary and not the way it's done at my regular store. richard
  24. Not in the U.S. ricahrd
  25. Was it gluten-free? ;-) richard
