  1. Open Original Shared Link Just check out the pics.
  2. Have you tried eating very easy to digest things like white rice, bananas, maybe baked chicken with no spices? Maybe your system needs some time to heal.
  3. Hi Sparky, I didn't have many or very symptoms either, but when I went gluten-free I discovered that a lot of things got better. It wouldn't hurt ot give it a try.
  4. Hey Susie, Some friends of mine made a doggie potty area, a fenced off section with lots of gravel. They then trained the pooches to only potty in that section of the yard. The gravel is apparently easy to scoop off of and can be rinsed down easily.
  5. Why not? If the tests have been done, what do you have to lose by not giving her gluten?
  6. There's always the old way: kiss your baby and see if he tastes salty. Not a definitive test, but it's what they did for a long time.
  7. I'm pretty sure cf has a very clear genetic trail. It should be easy enough to test for.
  8. Angie, why does she need a diagnosis for school? (I have no kids and no clue).
  9. Hang in there. There are a lot of people on the same journey.
  10. My guess is that you routinely restrict him from things like coffee, alcohol, deep fried foods, etc. What's one more thing that's probably bad for him? And wouldn't it be easier to give all the kids the same type of food? Since these tests appear to be very unreliable in small children why don't you just keep him gluten-free until he's 7 or 8 years...
  11. Since this was brought up YEAH!! I mean what the H***!! How barbaric is it to ask someone to do what amounts to poisoning themselves or their child just to prove to the doctor that something bad is going on!! I cannot believe that reputable physicians still assume they have the right to expect someone to do this and hope that everyone can get up the...
  12. That's all I wanted. Get well.
  13. I hate waiting. I find myself tapping my foot impatiently waiting for the microwave! Thank heavens I wasn't born into a situation where I'd have to go out, find, prepare, get firewood, cook,THEN eat my meals. I'd be a basket case.
  14. Also totally OT. I think Karen's last statement is really the basis of the disagreements. I think that everyone interprets what they see and hear and experience through the filters of their own lives. I interpreted gfp's statement basically the same as Karen. Probably because I've had similar experiences. But I also understand Deb's perspective of...
  15. Maybe sometimes at night someone could come in and change all the packaging and newspapers to something that sort of looks like English but isn't really. And if the house could be on a platform so every once in a while it tips just a bit so you get that off-balance feeling that you aren't really sure about.
  16. It might be a "busyness" issue. They may do the test immediately, but the results aren't analyzed until later. Or the results aren't reviewed by a second person until the following week. Or the results aren't put into a form to be sent out until much later. I just got results from a test I had done three weeks ago and I know they had to run the test...
  17. Jerry, please don't be distressed about the minor bickering that goes on. With so many people involved there are going to be personality differences. I think that everyone is very supportive of each other and when someone is having any kind of personal crisis I believe that everyone rallys around that person. It's the general knowledge contained in...
  18. I'd also like to publicly support gfp. I think that he clearly identifies his opinions as opinions, not fact, and he does try to support everything he says with either a personal story or research. Having differing opinions I think makes this a better board, even though it does cause dissension sometimes.
  19. So anyway... I've never had an issue with gluten withdrawal, but seeing as how these reactions keep changing over time, I'm curious if someday I might (after an accidental glutening). I also wonder if some people feel that sometimes they have a withdrawal response, and other times not.
  20. Alright TCA. I've had enough of you being the center of attention. From here on out you will be well. Your daughter will have no more health issues whatsoever. There will be no more surgeries, no more things hurting and no more food issues of any kind. Every member of your family will be completely healthy. Got it?
  21. I commute with a hairdresser and she said that unless you have a very oily scalp you should only wash with conditioner. The oils on your skin will be better distributed through your hair, and most products people use on their hair are water soluble so there's no need to worry about buildup. Just passing along stuff I heard.
  22. I don't know specifically, but numbers that they give are averages for a population. If you could find somewhere that tells you a range of times you'd have a better idea.
  23. I pretty much just whine about it. I've melatonin and kava and they sometimes help but I wake up feeling hung over. I'm finally today getting over a week of bad sleeping, but of course I had to get up and come to work...
