Amanda--you in for the Sillie Summit? ....And yes, we must find a way to git our friends out west here for this historic meeting B)

I am in for the Silly Summit, but I am hoping it will be held somewhere outside the Philly limits, since I will be traveling alone and I cannot do city driving and I get lost....it is scary for me....We can meet in other places out side the city though right?

Amanda--we'll have to figure something out that's good for everyone. :)

Well....I didn't make it to the Chiropractor  I've been sick to my stomach since I woke up and was struck with D for the third time as I was locking the door <_<:(

Felt terrible for having to call them so late and say I wasn't going to make it. This hasn't happened is a long time....I think it's the new creamer I've been drinking in my tea--it has a little casein  . I knew sumphin was up when I didn't go for 3 days, and then today this. I bought the creamer last Friday, so I'm sure it's the culprit.

I told Mark that it probably wouldn't agree with me since it was so good

I hear ya.

Yesterday I had some nachos with rice and beans and hot sauce that was made from pure ground up pepper seeds. Many things that I shouldn't have eaten. Towards the end of the day my tummy hurt pretty bad, and I was musing over my list of acceptable foods that I could eat that would soothe my tummy. -nothing. I ended up having salmon and nothing else.

Yeah--I'm afraid our stomachs have us by the short hairs

Any news about the kitties?

Just got a response from the shelter. I appear to have passed the initial application phase. I'll go visit them on Saturday to see if we get along.

Oh patti and Jess- Sorry you're both feeling uggy.....Unfortunately, I'm on your bandwagon with you. This 8 week part of antibiotics is uhm...sucking lemons. Headache, super achey and no appetite. Is it over yet? (No- 5 more weeks) <_<:(

Clearly the preferred cat of Silly yaks.

Yep- our male has coon in him!

Last year I got a note from a girl that said, "Thanks for helping me become a better person". Things like that remind me why I'm there.....

OOH!....reminds me of a story.....

Two years ago, near the end of the school year, I read some poems written by a boy for a class assignment and thought they were awesome...so I asked him if I could copy them.

I always gave him parental-type advice in a way that I thought he would listen.

....Then he met someone and proceeded to tell me about this first encounter with another boy....Tongue and all!!!! :o TMI!!!! :o:o:o

Doesn't that just get you- I had a similar note from a boy I had who was described by his previous teachers as a lazy, good for nothing slacker. He wasn't- he was a recovering alcoholic (15) and desperately wanted to do well but all his teachers had been mean to him. I still have the note and will always keep it!

If they feel like they can share stuff like that with you, you got the MS mojo baby!

Oh!! I forgot the greatest weakness question.

Or "my inability to convince people of my infallibility".

Or "WEAKnesses!?? Do you mean lesser strengths?"

My favorite answer was that I'm too hard on and impatient with myself :P

Ugh--compared to what you go through, my tummy ache is just a minor inconvenience! Keep your chin up, Bev, you're doing great with all this and just know that there is light at the end of the tunnel :);)

I so truly loved working with the kids at the high school. (all this talk about schools and the kids has me thinking about it) We lived in a smallish town where everyone seemed to know everyone else.

I couldn't go out of the house to the grocery or whatever without running into one of "my kids"--who always greeted me with a big hug. I do miss that since we moved, although I stay in touch with one of my former co-workers who became a friend -- she keeps me up to date :D

Bev!! Hang in there. ...I so admire your attitude, your phunniness when you're sick! :)

And Bev says she's IN for the Psilly Philly Psummit, if she's not family vacationing at the time....YAY!!

Sun's out here this AM, more rain later <_< .....basement report: new sump pump is working beautifully (and constantly) as well as the new dehumidifier! :D Operation dry-out is working!

Yay! Patti, did someone suggest that you invest in a backup sump? We did after our big flood....good insurance, and it can be programmed to kick in if the main one fails.

Yessssss!! How exciting! Jess, you may come home wif' yer arms full of homeless cats/kittens...like, ten of them er sumfin'. I know that this would be a very real and present danger for me.....

OMG - - just picturing my students greeting me with huge hugs...:lol:

The French, I would say, are Europeans who are generally not openly affectionate or physical. At least, certainly not professionally - - there is clearly a line drawn. However, the Venezuelans? The Italians? Unable, at times, to extricatre myself from their arms.... :o:lol:

I was discussing the merits of a one-eyed cat with my room mate. He's against it, so I told them I was just going to meet them on Saturday and decide. He rolled his eyes at me and said "Yea, right. As soon as you see them you'll want them both."

If - and it's still a big if - this becomes something that can ameliorate even 10% of the misery some of these people go through, isn't it worth it? Even if a few people get stinking rich as a result?

funny from the folks:

An elderly Texas cowhand went to the local drug store and asked the pharmacist for the little blue Viagra pill.

The pharmacist asked 'How many?'

The cowboy replied, 'Just a few, maybe a half dozen. I cut each one into four pieces.'

The pharmacist said, 'That's too small a dose. That won't get you through sex.'

The old fellow said, 'Oh, I'm past eighty years old, and I don't even think

about sex much anymore.

I just want it to stick out far enough so I don't pee on my new boots.

Here I was, suddenly struck..."Hey! Who's BILL IN MARYLAND? Mygawd...a real new Newbie has started reading, and then actually POSTED here??!" I got all excited. But he's way over in another section, a safe distance from Sillyville.

Elsie's appointment is at 3:30. I'm leaving in a few. Knots in stomach..... :(

For my Vit D3 deficiency it was recommended to take with Vit K2 (MK7) with the Vit D. The Vit K2 helps absorption of Vit D3. Fat also helps with absorption. I take Micro Ingredients Vit D3 5000 IU with Vit K2 100 micrograms (as menaquinone:MK-7). Comes in soft gels with coconut oil.  Gluten free but not certified gluten free. Soy free, GMO free.

@Known1, I submitted the following comment along with my contact information: "I have noticed that many food companies voluntarily include information in their ingredient/allergen label section when the product is made in an environment where cross contamination with any of the nine major allergens recognized by the FDA may also be likely. Even though celiac disease and gluten sensitivity are, technically speaking, not allergic responses, it would seem, nonetheless, appropriate to include "gluten" in that list for the present purpose. That would insure that food companies would be consistent with including this information in labeling. Best estimates are that 1% of the general population, many undiagnosed of course, have celiac disease and more than that are gluten sensitive."

Celiac Disease causes more vitamin D deficiency than the general population because of limited UV sunlight in the winter and the little available from food is not absorbed well in the damaged small intestine.  Taking 10,000 IU a day (250 mcg) a day broke my depression. Taking it for eleven years.  Doctor recently said to not stop.  My 25(OH)D is around 200 nmol/L (80 ng/ml) but it took about six years to get there.  Increasing vitamin D also increases absorption of Calcium. A good start is 100-gram (3.5-ounce) serving of salmon,  vitamin D from 7.5 to 25 mcg (300 to 1,000 IU) but it is going to take additional vitamin D supplement to be effective.  More importantly salmon has an omega-6 to omega-3 ratio 1:10 anti-inflammatory compared to the 15:1 infammatory ratio of the typical Western diet. Vitamin D and Depression: Where is all the Sunshine?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.  I respectfully disagree.  You cherry picked a small section from the page.  I will do the same below: The agency is seeking information on adverse reactions due to “ingredients of interest” (i.e., non-wheat gluten containing grains (GCGs) which are rye and barley, and oats due to cross-contact with GCGs) and on labeling issues or concerns with identifying these “ingredients of interest” on packaged food products in the U.S. “People with celiac disease or gluten sensitives have had to tiptoe around food, and are often forced to guess about their food options,” said FDA Commissioner Marty Makary, M.D., M.P.H. “We encourage all stakeholders to share their experiences and data to help us develop policies that will better protect Americans and support healthy food choices.” --- end quote Anyone with celiac disease is clearly a stakeholder.  The FDA is encouraging us to share our experiences along with any data to help develop future "policies that will better protect Americans and support healthy food choices".  I see this as our chance to speak up or forever hold our peace.  Like those that do not participate in elections, they are not allowed to complain.  The way I see it, if we do not participate in this request for public comment/feedback, then we should also not complain when we get ill from something labeled gluten-free. Have a blessed day ahead, Known1
