Any Motly Polish Celiacs Out There?

Just wondering if anyone out there is Polish, mostly Polish, and have been dx Celiac. I am just interested because of the Irish post and the connection between Celiacs and Northern European heritage. I'm starting to think maybe my doctor was right! He wouldn't test me because I was 100% Polish and I thought that was crap, and RUDE! Could he be right? Help me out "ski's!"

well i am half polish! but i am also half irish, maybe both sides did me in lol :lol:

and your doctor should not test you b/c of your ethnic background, thats just wrong . . .

thanks for your polish support! lol.....i know, it is wrong though. I am going to a new doc. on wed. though and also going to enterolab.

Half of my family is from the are of Europe that kept changing from Polish, German, Russian. It seems to fit in the "northern European genetic auto-immune disease" description of Celiac. (One family members birth certificate (1800's) has all the markings of Poland, but the ancestors say were are German.)

Interesting that the Polish community center was well aware of the gluten free diet and had a special menu plan. They definately knew what they were doing, even had a special waiter assigned who was not to touch any gluten foods before serving my gluten free meal. Kudos to the Polish community Center in Sterling Heights, MI!

Get a new doctor that can think for him/her self.

So you don't have ANY Irish, English, or Dutch in your background..?

Okay, at least every resturant should have a menu for people who can't eat gluten. The other night, we went out to eat, and I asked the waitress what on the menu was gluten free. She went to the chef and came back and told me that only the salads were. Okay, it was dinner (I'm hungry at the end of the day), and it was cold out, and I wasn't in the mood for a "cold dish," like a salad. But I got one and ate some gluten free popcorn when I got home. I feel like the whole world needs to seriously be informed about this issue. No one knows, and if you are one of the lucky few to experience this problem first hand, you have to figure it out on your own after a LONG time of being sick. (At least for me and most people on this forum.) Just crazy.

Yeah, I should write an e-mail or something to all of the doctors I've had and tell them to be more aware of gluten intolerance/Celiac Disease, or at least read a couple NEW articles on it. It's so sad.

      I appreciate you validating me because medical is an issue and it's not ok at all they they do this. Some days I just want to call the news media and just call out these doctors especially when they are supposed to be specialist Downplaying when gluten-free when they should know gluten-free is false negative. Now dealing with other issues and still crickets...

      M&M Peanuts. About the same calories and sugar while M&M Peanuts have fiber, potassium, iron and protein that Tootsie Rolls ("We are currently producing more than 50 million Tootsie Rolls each day.") don't. Click the links to compare nutritional values. Both are made with sugar, not high fructose corn syrup. I use them as a gluten free substitute...

      I see it everyday on my feeds. They go out and buy gluten-free processed products and wonder why they can't heal their guts. I don't think they take it as a serious immune disease. They pick up things off the internet which is so far out in left field. Some days I would just like to scream. So much better when we had support groups and being able to teach...

Actively dealing with sibo and skin issues.Depression is the key because thats all they know, im depressed because medical has caused it because of my celiac and related issues. I should have never ever been employed as a bus driver.After 3 years still healing and ZERO income desperately trying to get better but no careteam for celiac other than stay away frim wheat! Now im having care because my head is affected either ms or meningioma in go in tomorrow again for more scans.I know im slowly dying and im looking like a disability chaser

While I get heartburn at night from commercial dairy milk, I do not from 'grassmilk'.

I just had an EMA blood test because I haven't had one since my Doctor moved away.  Got test results today, doctor ordered a D3 vitamin test.  Now you know what  type of doctors we have.  Now I will have to pay for this test because she just tested my D3 end of December, and still have no idea about my EMA.
