Rapid bowel movement change

Sparechange

Sparechange Newbie

I was diagnosed with celiac around 2009 and a solid movement has escaped me for over a decade(5-8 watery movements a day), until recently. For the last 2 weeks I have experienced the opposite. Small, intense, rabbit like pellets that even get stuck halfway no matter how much or hard I push/move. Anyone else experience or have thoughts?

Sparechange, welcome to the forum!

You say that you were diagnosed (with celiac disease? Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity, aka, NCGS?) around 2009.

You do not say if you have been gluten free sense then. Have you been compliant with the gluten free diet during the time after your diagnosis?

Hi Sparechange

I wonder if you have altered your diet at all, or are taking any new medicines which might have this sort of effect?

I understand when you say you are scared.  I am a terrible worrier when it comes to health.  I spend a lot of time debating should I/shouldn't I pick up the phone to fix a doctor's appointment but in the end, I pluck up the courage and am always relieved that I have taken that step!  It's really good to have any bowel movements that last for more than a few days checked out.  A lot of people have bowel changes checked out and it turns out nothing is amiss, but it's good to be sure and to have peace of mind, or if there is something that is amiss, the doctors should be able to help.

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
