Does this mean I have to give up clothes shopping?? :o

Oh no never!!! It must never happen! I may have nightmares...I'm scared, hold me.

Oh, and I must say that your anti-anti-scientificness poster DID give me some really good references on another recent thread to some info on what we talked about here last week...that they use a form of mold on some fruit to extent it's shelf life. Some of that stupid fruit can stay fresh a yesr or two. Isn't that absolutely frightening?! Course, we DID talk about that a little bit last week HERE, lol.

I stayed home from work again today. I started sneezing a bit last night and today I'm just a little more hoarse, plus I could barely get myself out of bed, lol. Anyway, I just couldn't deal with trying to do all the work when I can barely concentrate on my name.

Hope everyone had a good Valentines Day...I was supposed to go to dinner with some friends, but decided to stay home and rest since I really needed it and couldn't eat anything anyway, lol.

I can't wait until this stupid stool test is done...I am soooooo tired of turkey. Wouldn't you know it...I only have 1 vial to fill and now I've got C!!!! I could be eating a nice juicy steak tonight "if only", lol. I'm taking more than 4 grams of vitamin C a day and still can't go!! Fortunately I am not uncomfortable or anything....just want to get this overwith so I can EAT STEAK.

ROFLMAO!!!:lol::lol: I wasn't going to post prematurely, but I couldn't stop laughing!!!

Binary is all 0's and 1's. So, 10 in binary = 2!!

BTW, did you consider that the healthy foods were making you detox and the ice cream slows down the detox? That could have been the source of the pain ... maybe you need to ease off the ice cream so the pain level is lower.

I came across this website, it talks about non-celiacs having leaky gut and gluten sensitivitity. Guess what it says can cause leaky gut .... mycotoxins!

I think the more accurate comment is "some of that stupid fruit can LOOK fresh a year or two!!!" ;) It's been YEARS since I've actually tasted fruit that tasted fresh aside from at the farmer's market. If they're not adding mold, they're irradiating it .... makes it all disgusting.

I whole heartedly agree with your post. The medical community offered me nothing....instead of making steps forward I was actually taking big steps in the wrong direction. Having access to the internet and to alternative sources has been a "life-saver" for me.

So, here's what's cooking on round 3,4,5?? of figuring out what's going on inside me. Intuitive healing, or Energy Healing & the medical community - cause I have good insurance now.

It's actually very odd, I've been attacted to/by (for lack of better wording) 5 different intuitive/energy healing people over the past 3 years. Two are friends I didn't do much work with, one was a two day seminar on intuitive healing - mind reading - quite interesting for someone that is educated as an engineer. The 4th said she could definately cure many of the food intollerance - but it didn't feel right for me. The 5th and most recent, I've only talked to on the phone and I'll probably see her in person in April in Sac. when she is down. Interesting thing - she does not know me and my gluten-free did not inform her - she nailed on the head some big events in my life. Anyway, the upshot is that 2-3 times a week I am to rub Castor Oil on my stomach, cover w/ceran wrap and a heating pad for 1/2 hour. Also, twice daily I am to fist & fingers to physically push my guts down, toward my belly button - in order to let my diaphram drop down and open things up. Aparently I have a cellular level blockage just under my ribs on the left side (my thinking - duh, vili damage??). Anyway, I'm going with it - if I could get dairy, egg, nightshades back in my diet, I'd be happy.

At the same time, I'm seeing an internest and a neurologist to see if we can address the RLS and sleep issues (well over 10 years of dealing with). I'm positive they are all intertwined with my imune system, so in the next couple weeks, we'll see what comes, short of a bunch of experimentaly poisonings with drugs that seem to do different things to me than they do to the general prescription community.

Anyway, I'm determined to take things to the next level of getting back to "normal", or at teh very least settling in to where I'm at, not slide backward, and move on with life.

Thanks for the warm welcome

Bob

BTW, did you consider that the healthy foods were making you detox and the ice cream slows down the detox? That could have been the source of the pain ... maybe you need to ease off the ice cream so the pain level is lower.

Carla...unfortunately its nothing like that. Its clearly intolerance stuff....it can happen immediately.. while I'm still eating the food. One minute I'm ok and the next all the blood vessels in my head are swelling, eyes blurry, face burning, tongue turning white right before my eyes...stuff like that.

Sometimes it takes a couple days to build up...then once it does...I start reacting immediately when I eat something bad. Its not because of detox because it happens the same way even if I'm still eating ice cream...but at the same time trying to eat some produce.

I just dont do well with fruits and veggies. I've been back on ice cream maybe a week now...I'm eating my "safe" foods again. Night before last I added some bell pepper and a little parsely in with my hamburger meat. I reacted as soon as I ate it....it was really bad. I was getting sharp pains in my head and face....like bugs stinging me. I also got severely depressed and almost cried for the first time this year. My head and eyes were pretty messed up and I had alot of brainfog.

I'm pretty sure the reaction is more severe like this when mycotoxins are involved. The toxins affect the body in the same way that Lyme toxins affect the body. All of the symptoms involved come directly from the neurotoxins....not from the mold or Lyme itself.

This is why its hard to determine the exact cause of illness....candida, mold, heavy metals and Lyme all produce the same types of symptoms. They affect the body in the same way.

When I was at BioSET last night they had the new Lyme newspaper in. In this issue Scotts article was actually an interview with Dr. Amy Derksen....shes the one I'll be seeing in 4 weeks. I was really excited about the article because it sort of gave me an opportunity to "meet" her and sort of know a little more about her.....before my appt.

These are the questions Scott asked her in the interview...

Tell us a little bit about your background.

What led you to alternative medicine?

What is ART?

How is ART used to help guide patient diagnosis and treatment?

What co-infections are most commonly found in people with Lyme Disease?

How prevalent are parasites in your opinion?

What are the more common parasites that you observe?

Do you see heavy metals as a complicating factor? Which metals appear most frequently?

Are mold and fungal issues common?

What are some of the more useful treatment options?

What are the more common parasitic treatment options?

What options are useful for dealing with metals?

How do you address fungal/mold issues?

Is there value in the Salt/C protocol and if so, what is the likely mechanism of action?

What about concerns over high blood pressure while on Salt/C?

Is the sequencing of treatment important?

What place do antibiotics have in the treatment of Lyme Disease?

How does Lyme Disease impact the thyroid?

What are the more common organs that you find are stressed when doing ART?

What are the more useful diagnosic tests that you employ?

What dietary considerations are key for someone with Lyme Disease?

How important is exercise in recovering from chronic Lyme Disease?

What are some of the commonly overlooked factors in treatment?

What significance do neurotoxins have relevant to the infections themselves in terms of one's overall symptom picture?

What role does hypercoagulation play in Lyme Disease?

What are some of the more critical supplements that someone with Lyme Disease should consider?

Do patients get well?

What does "cure" mean in your mind when it comes to Lyme Disease? Can one "forget" about this disease after they are well?

You can read the entire interview on Scotts site...

An Interview With Dr. Amy Derksen N.D

Open Original Shared Link

I came across this website, it talks about non-celiacs having leaky gut and gluten sensitivitity. Guess what it says can cause leaky gut .... mycotoxins!

Yeah...the toxins destroy the gut lining....any neurotoxins can do damage to the gut. I'm pretty sure the mycotoxins is why I lose weight dramatically as soon as I try adding veggies into my diet.

Last year I added alot of sweet poatoes and fruit into my diet and in less than 1 week I'd lost 10 lbs. and was in really bad shape. Stupid sweet potatoes.

Oh....I was also taking digestive enzymes that week as well....so I'm sure that had alot to do with it also. The enzymes are from mold.....aspergillus in particular.

So yeah....I get really sick from the mycotoxins. :( Its gotta be the reason for my Enterolab malabsorption score of 912....it definately wasnt caused by gluten. The problem is still there....the only way for me to avoid it is to avoid the mycotoxins themselves.

It's too bad, Rachel, that new foods aren't working out for you yet. That has to be frustrating.

LOL...

Yeah...I think maybe he needs to "de-stress" a little??

Whomever they are they are trying

Laughter is good medicine...I hope it will help. :D

Although after reading some posts on a more recent thread....I'm thinking he might need another dose of the funny pages.
Erm, OK I followed your advice last time...

I dunno....this is the second time I've been attacked by the same poster in a weeks time.

I think maybe it all stems from the fact that I have an offensive science-hating thread which pollutes the board with its unsubstantiated fantasies and beliefs???

Erm, the post didn't say that.. though it was a bit rambling and long ...and you might take that impression ... but as per my impresion of your thread its not the intended impression... and I didn't say it polluted the board... I said if it was what I mistakenly assumed it was then it stopped silly unscientific stuff polluting the rest of the board ... which might be poor choice of language but what I meant is for instance on the occaisions we have had MD's on the board they have been somewhat frightended off by a few posters who decide to use thier thread for having a general go at the medical profession... At the same time many of us here geninely have grievances against the medical profession and its probably a good thing to let them out... just not on the serious thread where a MD is giving a qualified opinion....

I think this could be the reason behind the attacks.....

(see....I'm going into detective mode again ;) )

ROFLMAO

"Rachelville....a place to express disdain for fact and truth". The anti-science thread.:lol:

All I was saying is that would be the impression the thread title gives me?

Yeah....maybe I've had too much ice-cream today but I'm still finding this hilarious. :D

Oh...I went back on ice cream.

Mainly due to the fact that I was experiencing excrutiating head pain from all the "healthy" foods.

Oh go on, give me another chance and reread the thread without extrutiating pain in your head ....

I might not have said it the "best way", heck I rarely do... I'd have thought you would have worked that out by now :D but I didn't mean to give a fence... or offence.

I actually found another person who seems to go through the same issues with the produce dept. feeling somewhat like a minefield. The culprit is FUNGUS.

I did post some stuff on fungus in fruit though... which might hopefully help you out... I probably didn't say that all that well either but .... that's what happens when you spend most of your life writing scientific reports and papers... (really)... and have a somewhat overdeveloped regard for fact ...

Just a quick drive by to report that I PASSED MY CLOMID CHALLENGE TEST!!! This is a big deal for me. This means my eggs are fine, which I knew :) . I was told almost two years ago that I should use donor eggs to get pregnant. This is all based on this test where they check your FSH (Follicle stimulating hormone) on day 2 or 3 of your cycle. Two years ago, mine was 17 which supposedly means eggs are DOOMED  . It was one of the most stressful periods of my life and I was having the bleeding problems, so I thought it was no wonder my hormones were off  . A month after I started Chinese medicine, my day 3 FSH went down to 6, but my estrogen was still high. I didn't know where I was getting all that extra estrogen. Now, I think it was the leaky gut, and I was reabsorbing all the estrogen I should have been excreting.

During the test in the last couple of weeks, my day 2 FSH was 3!! Anything below 5 is really really good. Also, my estradiol was down to 32 (anything below 50 is really good). I'm sooo happy!!

Unfortunately, I think the Clomid seriously messed with my chi and I finally caught the heinous cold that has been going around the office. An acupuncture session yesterday seemed to have set me on a good course!

Anyhoo, I think this shows that healing really is possible. I've been at the alternative healing/ TCM/ lifestyle changes in earnest for a year and a half. I am encouraged with my results!

I'm wondering if I shouldn't (take them, lol) for a while. I've been losing more weight this week...almost 3 pounds so far. Still not unwelcomed, but just weird.

Bob,

I think determination is one of the biggest factors when it comes to chronic illness. Determination, drive, commitment and a positive attitude is half the battle. It sounds like you're well on your way! :)

Whomever they are they are trying

Well...in that case...I am very impressed.

Is it possible you are not as stubborn as you think you are?? :o

Erm, OK I followed your advice last time...
WOW....this might be something new....not too many people admit to following my advice.

Maybe if I were wearing the thick glasses and sensible shoes?? <_<

Oh go on, give me another chance and reread the thread without extrutiating pain in your head ....

I might not have said it the "best way", heck I rarely do... I'd have thought you would have worked that out by now :D

I gotta admit.....after reading your post my mouth kind of hung open. :o

Rachelville only exists because of scientificness.

Its basically a "sub-division".....This thread would be "Rachelville for science nerds"....the other thread would be "Rachelville...for lightheated fun." Perhaps I should rename it??

I was not aware it was creating a misconception of anti-scientificness. :o

WOAH...we cant have that now can we??!!

I LOVE scientificness....I thought you might have figured that out by now. :P

Just a quick drive by to report that I PASSED MY CLOMID CHALLENGE TEST!!! This is a big deal for me. This means my eggs are fine, which I knew :) .

Claire....this is AWESOME. :D

I'm happy you got such good results from your test.....good news indeed. :)

I havent asked anyone the difference between ART and regular kinsiology yet but there is somewhat of an explanation in the interview I read. It was an interview with the Dr. I'm scheduled to see next month...she worked with Dr. Klinghardt (He is the Dr. who invented ART).

She writes,

It is essentially an advanced form of kinesiology that utilizes the autonomic nervous system as an indicator of stress on the body. It screens everything against a weak arm and this is where the majority of the infections typically appear.

I find in my experience that testing with traditional kinesiology, important information is often missed.

This is because the body is often so stressed by Lyme or other microbes that the autonomic nervous sytem is not responding and will not allow the strong arm to go weak. This is what we call "blocked regulation".

ART can be a useful indicator of toxins in the body, nutritional deficiencies, structural problems, energetic disturbances such as scars, food intolerances, geopathic stress, unresolved psycho-emothional issues and more.

My ART session was totally focused on infections and what treatments those infections would respond best to. I suspect when I see Dr. Derksen the ART session will be more detailed.

It seems that the *key* difference with ART would be the "Autonomic Nervous System"....thats my impression from all that I've read.

AndreaB Contributor

Sounds like ART would be beneficial for a lot of people.

I'll definately keep it in mind if our intolerances continue getting worse.

dlp252 Apprentice

Yah, if I see Scott walking around at BioSET tomorrow, I may just introduce myself and ask him about it (ART), lol.

I already said, I refuse to accept I am stubborn

(erm that's meant to be irony)

I was not aware it was creating a misconception of anti-scientificness. :o

Erm ... that's the whole point of misconceptions ! (again irony :D)

Seriously though that's probably a better way of saying what I was trying to say but it really is the point, if you were aware of thinking what people might ASSUME it wouldn't really be a misconception ..???

Its like if you overhear part of a conversation and completely miss the point of it... I suppose. Its not the fault of the people who were having the conversation you overheard .. but you still assume based on your fragment of what you heard.

In this case my fragment was the title...

Anyway, these moles are not being trained very well. Even with the special large print books and it suddenly hit me I had French moles and was writing in English so obviously they didn't understand a word ...

Meanwhile the recycling piles of loo-roll are growing... keeping with my environmental principles I figured we could just get some dung beetles in to recycle them but the damned moles ate them all. The ringleader has been caught though and grounded!

I had the same thing happen to me at around your age, and to this day it's the most painful experience I've ever had. For me it was the right side of my head, above my ear, running from my nerves in my neck. For years before my outbreak I felt a tingling sensation shooting along the exact nerves that ended up exactly where the shingles blisters appeared. I highly recommend the two shot shingles vaccine as soon as your turn 50--I did this because I started to get the same tingling sensations in the same area, and after the vaccines I've never felt that again.  As you likely know, shingles is caused by chicken pox, which was once though of as one of those harmless childhood viruses that everyone should catch in the wild--little did they know that it can stay in your nervous system for your entire life, and cause major issues as you age.

Thanks for the info. I recently moved to CA from Wyoming and in that western region the Costco and Sam's /Walmart Brands have many nuts and more products that are labeled gluten free. I was told it's because those products are packaged and processed  in different  plants. Some plants can be labeled  gluten free because the plant does not also package gluten products and they know that for example the trucks, containers equipment are not used to handle wheat, barely or Rye. The Walmart butter in the western region says gluten free but not here. Most of The Kirkland and Members Mark brands in CA say they are from Vietnam. That's not the case in Wyoming and Colorado. I've spoken to customer service at the stores here in California. They were not helpful. I check labels every time I go to the store. The stores where I am are a Sh*tshow. The Magalopoly grocery chain Vons/Safeway/Albertsons, etc. are the same. Fishers and Planters brands no longer say gluten free. It could be regional. There are nuts with sugar coatings and fruit and nut mixes at the big chains that are labeled gluten free but I don't want the fruit or sugar.  It's so difficult I am considering moving again. I thought it would be easier to find safe food in a more populated area. It's actually worse.  I was undiagnosed for most of my life but not because I didn't try to figure it out. So I have had all the complications possible. I don't have any spare organs left.  No a little gluten will hurt you. The autoimmune process continues to destroy your organs though you may not feel it. If you are getting a little all the time and as much as we try we probably all are and so the damage is happening. Now the FDA has pretty much abandoned celiacs. There are no requirements for labeling for common allergens on medications. All the generic drugs made outside the US are not regulated for common allergens and the FDA is taking the last gluten free porcine Thyroid med, NP Thyroid, off the market in 2026. I was being glutened by a generic levothyroxin. The insurance wouldn't pay for the gluten free brand any longer because the FDA took them all off their approved formulary. So now I am paying $147 out of pocket for NP Thyroid but shortly I will have no safe choice. Other people with allergies should be aware that these foreign generic pharmaceutical producers are using ground shellfish shell as pill coatings and anti-desicants. The FDA knows this but  now just waits for consumers to complain or die. The take over of Wholefoods by Amazon destroyed a very reliable source of good high quality food for people with allergies and for people who wanted good reliably organic food. Bezos thought  he could make a fortune off people who were paying alot for organic and allergen free food by substituting cheap brands from Thailand. He didn't understand who the customers were who were willing to pay more for that food and why. I went from spending hundreds to nothing because Bezo removed every single trusted brand that I was buying. Now they are closing Whole foods stores across the country. In CA, Mill Valley store (closed July 2025) and the National Blvd. store in West Los Angeles (closed October 2025). The Cupertino store will close.  In recent years I have learned to be careful and trust no one. I have been deleberately glutened in a restaurant that was my favorite (a new employee). The Chef owner was not in the kitchen that night. I've had  a metal scouring pad cut up over my food. The chain offered gluten free dishes but it only takes one crazy who thinks you're a problem as a food fadist. Good thing I always look. Good thing they didn't do that to food going to a child with a busy mom.  I give big tips and apologize for having to ask in restaurants but mental illness seem to be rampant. I've learn the hard way.          I don't buy any processed food that doesn't say gluten free.  I am a life long Catholic. I worked for the Church while at college. I don't go to Church anymore because the men at the top decided Jesus is gluten. The special hosts are gluten less not gluten free. No I can't drink wine after people with gluten in their mouth and a variety of deadly germs. I have been abandoned and excluded by my Church/Family.  Having nearly died several times, safe food is paramount. If your immune system collapses as mine did, you get sepsis. It can kill you very quickly. I spent 5 days unconscious and had to have my appendix and gall bladder removed because they were necrotic. I was 25. They didn't figure out I had celiac till I was 53. No one will take the time to tell you what can happen when your immune system gets overwhelmed from its constant fighting the gluten and just stops. It is miserable that our food is processed so carelessly. Our food in many aspects is not safe. And the merging of all the grocery chains has made it far worse. Its a disaster. Krogers also recently purchased Vitacost where I was getting the products I could no longer get at Whole Foods. Kroger is eliminating those products from Vitacost just a Bezos did from WF. I am looking for reliable and certified sources for nuts. I have lived the worst consequences of the disease and being exposed unknowingly and maliciously. Once I was diagnosed I learned way more than anyone should have to about the food industry.  I don't do gray areas. And now I dont eat out except very rarely.  I have not eaten fast food for 30 years before the celiac diagnosis. Gluten aside..... It's not food and it's not safe.  No one has got our backs. Sharing safe food sources is one thing we can do to try to be safe.
