Your doctor sounds very knowledgeable, Andrea. So many now that I see really don't know a thing about suppliments or nutrition, for that matter. <_<

I think he is. He's a family doctor that's gone into holistic type medicine and also does chelation. He's our family doctor now. I just don't know what I'll do when he retires. He's his own practice.

Kelp, isn't that a powder? I think I've seen it in a powder anyway.

I believe you can get it in both powder and pill form.

OH rachel

I got some rocky jr chicken at whole foods yesterday. Need to take it back. I was tooo sweet. It gave me vaginal discharge. Foster Farms is better for me.

I don't know what happened to my last post so I will post again.

This weekened I got real sick from a molded lemon in my cabinet. I now have big time bubble guts and brain fog. I don't know what to do. I eat and I am still hungry. Losing weight rapidly and the dentist won't see me till 15 of may. What should I do or eat to keep weight on does anyone know? Rachel do you think seacure is o.k.? Should I open the doors or keep them closed because of the mold? I can't believe I got myself sick. It's been 4 days and still sick. I guess it's chicken soup all day everyday. They say stock is the best thing for people with gastro diesease because of electrolytes and minerals, brestbone, neck and backbone are best. NO organic chicken for me to sweet. Should I take a probiotic even if I have mercury and candida? I am taking pearl right now 1 billion. Took blood test for dentist to make sure he knows what composites to put back in my mouth. Rachel have you heard of this blood test. I am tired will talk more later.

Lisa, I answered this question on the thread you started ... did you know you started a thread on this?

I like to air out my house. I do it as soon as the weather's warm enough. It drives Adam crazy sometimes because if it gets a little warmer in the winter, say into the 50's, I'll leave the heat on, but open a couple windows for an hour or so. Today I have 22 windows open! But the air is off.

I wouldn't mess with the candida until you are addressing the mercury. Your body allows more candida to be there to protect you from the mercury. I don't think it will hurt for you to continue with the probiotics you are currently taking though.

dlp252 Apprentice
I remember that! Do you still have a problem with itching?

Yes, but mostly when I eat things I shouldn't. I also get it when I eat almonds, but not almond butter...weird, huh! I haven't eaten chicken since December, so that's not it alone...I do itch when I eat it, but that's not the only thing.

Make sure you have real salt or himilayan salt. Himilayan is supposed to be the best, but is very cost prohibitive.

I DO have some, but it was expensive so I've not been using it, lol. I use it for special ocassions. :P

Do you guys take this in the morning hours? I bought the Yaeyama made by Jarrow Formulas in the powder form.

I was taking liquid, 1 tsp in the morning and 1 tsp in the evening. I may try this again. My D is back so it wasn't ONLY the chlorella. :(

Should I take a probiotic even if I have mercury and candida? I am taking pearl right now 1 billion.

Sorry you got so sick! You can definitely take a probiotic even with mercury and candida and you probably should. Also you can keep your sugar intake pretty low and that will help.

NoGluGirl- Now I know why they call them Glamour shots. You look so glamorous!!!!!!!

I completely agree. I thought you were twenty in the photo and was shocked to think you were only 13!

NGG, you look stunningly beautiful in that picture, and the brown hair IS gorgeous--such a warm alive, color!

You might find that your hair color has much more life (i.e., no more mousy brown) now that you are off gluten. That's what happened to me!

Great photos Donna and Patti!

Thanks for the heads up again Donna. :P

We always order the whole chicken but you don't have too. Check out the website and see what you think. You could always give it to your mom if it doesn't work out. They do have a $75 minimum order.

Otherwise you can just skip the chicken until you get detoxed some more.

Thanks Andrea....I think I'm just gonna skip chicken for now. <_<

You can start by warming up 2-3 glasses of water in the morning and drinking them before you go to work. You'll probably, actually want to start with 1-2 since you aren't used to it. Your body will love you for it though. :D

I did this today. :) I totally racheled the water....and guess what...I didnt even urinate nearly as much as I did yesterday when I took the one drop of NDF.

I'll have to see what happens tomorrow when I take my NDF again. ;)

P.S. This is my Glamour Shot from when I was 13.

I love it Jin!!! I agree with everyone about that hair color....it really does compliment your features. :)

Rachel-

#1 this is the cutest picture !!! I can just see you sitting there smiling like an angel while all the while planning some sort of weird mischevous act.

Yeah...who knows what might have been going through my mind. I thought my mom had always said that I was a really good kid....now she's saying "Well.....you were kind of hard."

Does that mean difficult??

I think maybe I've traumatized her or something...she says she does NOT want grandchildren. :o She says she has enough to worry about already. :(

She's the type that couldnt sleep at night until her kids were home and safe in bed. I was the kid who sometimes just didnt come home.

Shes still the same way...even though I'm 35. She worries alot....she worries about my brother too but she says I've always been "harder".

Ok organic chicken- no but processed chicken with added crap - ok? I know it makes no sense but my body does not really follow the natural laws of sense. Ijust figured I'de share this with you. Sometimes I seem worse off wih the truly pure stuff liek its just to much for me to handle- My body the eternal mystery

Ok...I have some thoughts about why your body may not like the fresh organic chicken. Its just some guesses so might not mean anything.

These are possibilities that I know would make a difference in whether I react to cooked meat or not.

1. Are you eating the skins?? I react to the skins and never ever eat them.

2. Is there alot of grease from the meat?? I react to the natural juices that accumulate from cooking so I try to avoid that stuff as much as possible. The "juices" are really high in glutamate...so if you were sensitive to MSG you could react to this.

3. If you were sensitive to "amines" you could react to meat thats been cooking for awhile. The longer its cooked the more the amines increase. Anything that is slow cooked would have high amines....this could also increase glutamates.

4. Could be something you're putting on the meat?? A seasoning??

Anyways...those are my theories. :P

You're going to think this is crazy, but I only dated two other guys (we got married young), and one was only for a month when I was in Mexico ... we'd have dated longer but we didn't live near each other. I didn't dislike either of the other two guys.

I seem to be extremely picky....its hard for me to get really interested in someone. I guess I dont fall in love too easy.

I've went out with more people than I could ever count or even rememeber  ...but if I dont really feel any butterflies right away I'm pretty much only thinking about friendship...nothing else.

I know people say you have to spend time with a person and get to know them..etc. It just doesnt work for me...if its not there...its just not ever gonna be there.

The last guy I went out with really wanted me to *try* to fall in love with him. He was saying I just dont open myself up and give anyone a chance. So I did...for about a year...I did fall in love with his family (they're great)....but...NO...I did not fall in love with HIM. :(

I guess I can say I've been in love maybe 4 times. Those were all people I initially didnt like at all...people that I didnt want anywhere near me and I wasnt at all shy about my feelings. I never dated any of them....somehow we just ended up together.

So I guess I've never actually dated someone and developed feelings the way most people do. I'm just not good at dating.

One relationship got started because of a very persistant bar/club owner. I wasnt interested at all and I cried (actual tears) to my friend because I was sad that our favorite dance club was not fun anymore...cuz of the owner "bugging' me. I didnt wanna go there any more. :(

I wasnt trying to hide the fact that I wasnt interested. One night I went to the club and the bouncer wouldnt let me in....said the owner had "banned" me from the club. I was arguing at the door and finally I got let in...but I had to pay double!!:angry:

It was very distressing...this is where all my friends hung out.

One night I was playing pool and the owner challenged me to a game...if I lost we'd have to go out on a date. If I won I could choose what I wanted. I said I wasnt interested in a date but I really wanted to have one of the cool neon Budweiser bar lights.

So yeah...I played a fierce game...and I walked out with the Bar Light. :D

Eventually a whole group of us were going out for a brunch. The owner said since both of us were going why couldnt we just go together?? I said "OK....FINE...we'll go then and thats the end of it."

So we went to brunch and amazingly IT WAS FUN :o ...next thing I knew we were driving to Tahoe, renting snowmobiles, totally having a blast and we were together for about a year. I did fall in love...although I did get "banned" from the club a few more times during that year.

So thats pretty much how all of my realtionships started. My last serious relationship started in a similar way...with me refusing to even give out my phone number...let alone go out on a date. We broke up after I got sick and my heart is still broke I think. :(

I think my heart cant heal until the rest of me starts healing. It seems like the toxins get in the way of healing hearts too. <_< Is that possible or I am just really lame for having a broken heart this long??

Donna, I didnt get my CD57 done today. I went there but then I was wondering if the labwork is in or out of network??

I figured if my "in network" Dr. from Camino Medical could order the same tests insurance might cover more of the cost. They filled out the labslip for me...all of the tests are done through LabCorp...even the liver and kidney tests. They said I should call insurance and see if LabCorp is in network....if it is I can go back and do the bloodwork or go to camino medical and have it done.

They filled out the labslip so in case I get it done somewhere else the results will still go to Dr. S.

If LabCorp is not in network I guess I'll just have the liver and kidney testing done by my Camino Medical Dr. cuz it'll be cheaper that way.

First I'm gonna find out how much the tests cost....if they're not terribly expensive it might be more trouble than its worth. <_<

So hopefully I can get all the info. tomorrow and then go back for the blood draw. I wanna hurry up and get the results. :)

Lisa,

Be really careful with mold. Hopefully you dont have any mold in your home....other than the lemon. I would definately air out the house but breathing the spores like you did could mess you up for awhile.

Also make sure you get rid of the lemon in an outside garbage.

I took the bloodtest to check for compatibiltiy also. Its true that you could be sensitive to any materials they put in your mouth. Its a good idea to know whats safe so you dont end up with composites you're allergic to....which would make everything worse. It sounds like your dentist is really good.

I also like that hes only removing one filling at a time. As sick as you are right now...that is definately the best way to go about it. He doesnt want you to get too much exposure at one time. He's doing the best he can to not get you more sick during the process.

Personally I would not take the SeaCure or the probiotics or anything else right now. SeaCure got me alot sicker. I lost all kinds of weight and couldnt gain anything back. I was at 94 lbs. and I didnt start gaining until I stopped the supplements...all of them....even the probiotics.

Once I stopped taking supplements I gained more than 10 lbs. and my weight has been stable ever since. Its been about a year now....my weights been stable at 110. I cant gain anything more but at least I'm not losing.

My body cant process alot of this stuff so even if its "suppossed" to be good...its not necessarily good for ME. Some of it can be quite bad or even toxic because it doesnt get utilized the way it should or the immune system is reactive to it.

I would stop taking supplements and see how you feel after a few weeks. If you want you can always try them again...one at a time though...so you can see if you develop problems or additional symptoms.

I know SeaCuRE affected me in a bad way. I wouldnt take it...after all its FISH. :o

It might contain mercury...I dont know but I did get ALOT worse taking the SeaCure. <_<

I have it all written in my journals I was keeping back then....It was definately SeaCure making me sicker. I didnt ever think about the fact that it could contain mercury until you mentioned it a couple weeks ago...I think you're probably right about that!! It could definately explain why I was getting so much worse!! :o

I hope you feel better soon. :)

Every time I tell her I'm being tested for something new she and my aunt look it up in their medical journals and the next time I see them, they tell me all about it. :D When I had my surgeries, my mom was more nervous than I was. :P

These are possibilities that I know would make a difference in whether I react to cooked meat or not.

Hum, that could be it...I cook chicken to death, lol. Not so much because I'm afraid of bacteria, but because I don't like the texture of it unless it's almost shoe leather, lol. Steak I eat rare though. It's just the chicken I can't stand the texture of unless it's very well done.

I seem to be extremely picky....its hard for me to get really interested in someone. I guess I dont fall in love too easy.

I think I'm just the opposite...I seem to fall in love fairly easily, but never act on it. I can have strong feelings for someone and they'd never know it. How sad is THAT, lol. I think I just can't decide if I WANT a relationship so I never do anything about my feelings. After my last boyfriend (who put me through an emotional wringer) I decided relationships weren't worth the effort and then I got sick, so that kind of took care of it. I do flirt sometimes, but if someone ever took me up on that I'd probably run for the hills!

I don't think the test is horribly expensive. The girls back at the nurses station went over all the costs with me for all the tests, but since I had 7 tests, I don't remember what was what. They gave me a sheet of paper with all the tests and costs, etc. I wish I had my paper in front of me--I have it at home with all the prices written down and which ones billed insurance.

I didn't write a check for LabCorp so I think they are one of the ones that will bill my insurance. I only wrote three checks, one to Igenix, one to Spectrcell and one to Doctor's Data. I think the rest were to be billed to my insurance and paid for with credit card at the office. All of the remaining costs for tests couldn't have been more than $150 because my whole bill was $408ish and the initial office visit of $365 was included in that (I keep thinking they made an error somewhere though, cuz that seems cheap, lol).

I went to Camino for my annual exam a few weeks ago cuz I knew there'd be blood testing...they're the ones that showed the low lymphocytes. I go there for routine stuff cuz it is definitely cheaper for me especially since I've met all my out of pocket maximums, lol.

I read a few pages back and I saw that you guys have been talking about yurts. It reminds me of my dad telling me about yurts and how they make the felt for them. Rachel, hard does mean difficult. You said yourself that you always wanted to do the opposite of what you were told ... that's difficult. ;)

And, OMGosh, my kids would be terrified of missing curfew!! :o Once Morgan had a ski trip with her class and I forgot about it (Lyme Brain). She would normally call after school was over to remind me, but she didn't ... or else she would tell me in the morning before she left for school, but she didn't ... or she would call me from the ski place, but she didn't ... so I called the cops when she was an hour past her normal curfew! In our old small town, they had nothing better to do than look for her, so they were waiting at the school for her when the bus returned! So, now the family joke is, don't miss curfew or Mom will call the cops!:lol:

Okay, so maybe I was a little worried that time ...

I must be the only person who didn't know what a yurt is.....

I didn't either.

Adam just emailed me that he's on his way home to take me to work out ... why do you think he thought I was on the computer????:lol::lol:

Rachel, for me, I had to have the butterflies, too!

When I saw Adam and he saw me for the first time, we both stopped and looked at each other. It was like our guardian angels tapped us on the shoulder and said, "This is the one!" Later that night (it was a frat party), we danced and talked. I kept getting calls at the sorority house, but I was a freshman so hadn't moved in yet. ALL the other guys I knew knew my phone number, so I knew it was Adam. He never left a message. I called him and asked him to the dance in the picture.

We saw each other for about 4 weeks, but he had a girlfriend in Texas! :o That summer I dated someone else, in Mexico. He was part of IU's group there... I hadn't met him or noticed him (he had brown hair  ), but several of us were going to Acapulco and I was sitting next to him. It was a nighttime bus trip and he told me I could lean on him if I wanted (we were all trying to get comfortable enough to sleep)... so, shallow me, I LOOKED at him first, decided he was cute, then leaned on his shoulder to sleep! LOL I dated him the rest of the trip, but he didn't go to the same IU campus I did, so it was over when we got back. I didn't find out until 25 years later when I had breakfast with him after not seeing him all these years, that he tried to find me. :( But it all worked out fine ... for me anyway ... he's alone (divorced).

I had other guys who wanted to date me, they were all VERY nice, too ... but if there wasn't that spark in the beginning, they didn't have a chance. I joke that I'm just shallow ... if I'm not attracted to a guy, I'm simply not attracted to him!

The third guy was my hs boyfriend. Nice guy, we still keep in touch ... all my group of friends from hs does.

The night I met Mark, I was on a date with another guy (the prom date :P ). I literally turned the corner to go to the dance floor area and he was sitting right there, straight ahead of me. He smiled at me and I smiled back--he was really cute

Anyway, we very briefly talked about how we both loved the music the DJ was playing, and sometime during the time I was there, he asked for and got my phone number. He was also the most polite and well spoken guy I had ever met--and mature at 4 years my senior

Did I say I was a bit of a rube B)

We've been together ever since our first date :D

Raising you vitamin D will increase absorption of calcium automatically without supplementation of calcium.  A high PTH can be caused by low D causing poor calcium absorption; not insuffient calcium intake.  With low D your body is not absorbing calcium from your food so it steals it from your bones.  Heart has priority over bone. I've been taking 10,000 IU D3 a day since 2015.  My doctor says to continue. To fix my lactose intolerance, lots of lactobacillus from yogurts, and brine fermented pickles and saurkraut and olives.  We lose much of our ability to make lactase endogenosly with maturity but a healthy colony of lactobacillus in our gut excretes lactase in exchange for room and board. The milk protein in grass fed milk does not bother me. It tastes like the milk I grew up on.  If I drink commercial milk I get heartburn at night. Some experts estimate that 90% of us do not eat Adequite Intake of choline.  Beef and eggs are the principle source. Iodine deficiency is a growing concern.  I take 600 mcg a day of Liquid Iodine.  It and NAC have accelerated my healing all over.  Virtually blind in my right eye after starting antihypertensive medication and vision is slowly coming back.  I had to cut out starches because they drove my glucose up into the 200+ range.  I replaced them with Red Bull for the glucose intake with the vitamins, minerals and Taurine needed to process through the mitochodria Krebs Cycle to create ATP.  Went from A1c 13 down to 7.9.  Work in progress. Also take B1,B2,B3,B5,B6. Liquid Iodine, Phosphatidyl Choline, Q10, Selenium, D and DHEA.     Choline supplemented as phosphatidylcholine decreases fasting and postmethionine-loading plasma homocysteine concentrations in healthy men +

@catnapt, Wheat germ has very little gluten in it.  Gluten is  the carbohydrate storage protein, what the flour is made from, the fluffy part.  Just like with beans, there's the baby plant that will germinate  ("germ"-inate) if sprouted, and the bean part is the carbohydrate storage protein.   Wheat germ is the baby plant inside a kernel of wheat, and bran is the protective covering of the kernel.   Little to no gluten there.   Large amounts of lectins are in wheat germ and can cause digestive upsets, but not enough Gluten to provoke antibody production in the small intestines. Luckily you still have time to do a proper gluten challenge (10 grams of gluten per day for a minimum of two weeks) before your next appointment when you can be retested.

Hello, @asaT, I'm curious to know whether you are taking other B vitamins like Thiamine B1 and Niacin B3.  Malabsorption in Celiac disease affects all the water soluble B vitamins and Vitamin C.  Thiamine and Niacin are required to produce energy for all the homocysteine lowering reactions provided by Folate, Cobalamine and Pyridoxine.   Weight gain with a voracious appetite is something I experienced while malnourished.  It's symptomatic of Thiamine B1 deficiency.   Conversely, some people with thiamine deficiency lose their appetite altogether, and suffer from anorexia.  At different periods on my lifelong journey, I suffered this, too.   When the body doesn't have sufficient thiamine to turn food, especially carbohydrates, into energy (for growth and repair), the body rations what little thiamine it has available, and turns the carbs into fat, and stores it mostly in the abdomen.  Consuming a high carbohydrate diet requires additional thiamine to process the carbs into energy.  Simple carbohydrates (sugar, white rice, etc.) don't contain thiamine, so the body easily depletes its stores of Thiamine processing the carbs into fat.  The digestive system communicates with the brain to keep eating in order to consume more thiamine and other nutrients it's not absorbing.   One can have a subclinical thiamine insufficiency for years.  A twenty percent increase in dietary thiamine causes an eighty percent increase in brain function, so the symptoms can wax and wane mysteriously.  Symptoms of Thiamine insufficiency include stunted growth, chronic fatigue, and Gastrointestinal Beriberi (diarrhea, abdominal pain), heart attack, Alzheimer's, stroke, and cancer.   Thiamine improves bone turnover.  Thiamine insufficiency can also affect the thyroid.  The thyroid is important in bone metabolism.  The thyroid also influences hormones, like estrogen and progesterone, and menopause.  Vitamin D, at optimal levels, can act as a hormone and can influence the thyroid, as well as being important to bone health, and regulating the immune system.  Vitamin A is important to bone health, too, and is necessary for intestinal health, as well.   I don't do dairy because I react to Casein, the protein in dairy that resembles gluten and causes a reaction the same as if I'd been exposed to gluten, including high tTg IgA.  I found adding mineral water containing calcium and other minerals helpful in increasing my calcium intake.   Malabsorption of Celiac affects all the vitamins and minerals.  I do hope you'll talk to your doctor and dietician about supplementing all eight B vitamins and the four fat soluble vitamins because they all work together interconnectedly.

Hi Jane: You may want to try the D3 I now take. I have reactions to fillers and many additives. Sports Research, it is based in the USA and I have had no bad reactions with this brand. The D3 does have coconut oil but it is non GMO, it is Gluten free, Soy free, Soybean free and Safflower oil free.  I have a cupboard full of supplements that did not agree with me -  I just keep trying and have finally settled on Sports Research. I take NAKA Women's Multi full spectrum, and have not felt sick after taking 2 capsules per day -  it is a Canadian company. I buy both from Amazon. I wish you well in your searching, I know how discouraging it all is. Florence.

highly unlikely  NOTHING and I mean NOTHING else has ever caused me these kinds of symptoms I have no problem with dates, they are a large part of my diet In fact, I eat a very high fiber, very high vegetable and bean diet and have for many years now. It's considered a whole foods plant based or plant forward diet (I do now eat some lean ground turkey but not much) I was off dairy for years but recently had to add back plain yogurt to meet calcium needs that I am not allowed to get from supplements (I have not had any problem with the yogurt)   I eat almost no processed foods. I don't eat out. almost everything I eat, I cook myself I am going to keep a food diary but to be honest, I already know that it's wheat products and also barley that are the problem, which is why I gradually stopped eating and buying them. When I was eating them, like back in early 2024, when I was in the middle of moving and ate out (always had bread or toast or rolls or a sub or pizza) I felt terrible but at that time was so busy and exhausted that I never stopped to think it was the food. Once I was in my new place, I continued to have bread from time to time and had such horrible joint pain that I was preparing for 2 total knee replacements as well as one hip! The surgery could not go forward as I was (and still am) actively losing calcium from my bones. That problem has yet to be properly diagnosed and treated   anyway over time I realized that I felt better when I stopped eating bread. Back at least 3 yrs ago I noticed that regular pasta made me sick so I switched to brown rice pasta and even though it costs a lot more, I really like it.   so gradually I just stopped buying and eating foods with gluten. I stopped getting raisin bran when I was constipated because it made me bloated and it didn't help the constipation any more (used to be a sure bet that it would in the past)   I made cookies and brownies using beans and rolled oats and dates and tahini and I LOVE them and have zero issues eating those I eat 1 or more cans of beans per day easily can eat a pound of broccoli - no problem! Brussels sprouts the same thing.   so yeh it's bread and related foods that are clearly the problem  there is zero doubt in my mind
