Yeah, I didn't sleep while on it. I think it has to do with the bug die-off...the liver has to work really hard with all that going on, and that can disturb sleep. How is the head? Any sign of big head syndrome? I'd say that would be reason enough to not want to stay on it. The sleep is just a by-product I think...my sleep improved VERY slightly when I started taking charcoal in the middle of the night, but that was only the last 3 days on Humaworm...and when I say SLIGHTLY I mean very slightly, lol. I'm sleeping MUCH better now that I'm not taking the Humaworm. It's also possible that one of the herbs in it has a "hyper" affect on some of us.

No sign of big head syndrome yet, but if it does happen this time around, I may just quit. Like Rachel said, it may not agree with me. OR it could be producing so many toxins, my liver is having a hard time dealing. Either way, I don't need to stress my body so much. Little at the time is better for me!

I took it earlier tonight instead of right before bed. That way I can take the charcoal before bed.

I have never seen anything of interest?????

Thanks carla and kassandra.

Maybe ill drink some in the morning and at night and maybe after awhile add some in during the day. Im sensitive to lemons casue when i was pg with my second son, all he wanted me to drink was lemonade, i drank so much of it, i got gestational diabetsis with him, well that wasnt the only reason why i got gd, but it was a high contributing factor to that.

paula

You can't put sugar in it .... just lemon and water. :)

Paula,

Definately drink more water. This is like a detox. when the candida die they put off a lot of toxins in the body. Activated charcoal, coffee enemas, sauna's, detox baths, sweating - are all good. Vitamin C, minerals, ect.

April

thanks april,

What is a good vitmain c to take? Ive been thinking about the charcoal, but need to reasearch it some. Would getting all bundled up and go for a run be a good thing. Of course when im feeling a little better. and its not -20 here? I wish we still had our whirpool tub, would that of been a good thing or would that of moved everything around inside.

I know but it still taste like that lemonade lol. How much lemon are u supposed to put in, i put like 1/4th of a lemon in today and the rinds are fine, right?

Not sure on the vitamin C... I usually take 1000 mg 2x per day. You can take more when herxing. You can take 1 every hour until your stool is loose, then cut back.

Also, stevia is a good substitute if you do want your lemon water a little sweet. Sometimes I get carbonated mineral water and mix a little lime and stevia. My daughter says it tastes like sprite.

I have trouble with coffee enemas but I am still trying to get the process down! :o I need the liver detox from it. That reminds me, I need to do my castor oil packs and keep forgetting :(

I am so glad someone turned me onto the activated charcoal. I will never not have that in my home "pharmacy"!

I have even put it on my sons sting/bite and it took the pain right away. I have a good article somewhere on it. Here it is... Open Original Shared Link

I think a run would be a great idea. that gets your blood moving and then the sweat takes the heat off the liver for detox support. The whirlpool would be great and if you can't do epsom salts (which I think are fine for most people) then try sea salt and baking soda. Stay in there as long as you can and be sure you sweat. I sometimes put a heater in the bathroom to get it toasty in there. The sauna works great for me!

Tabasco,

reabsorbtion of toxins could definately be a possibility. Be sure you keep your elimination organs working. Lemon water on empty stomach in the am before food is good for cleansing the liver and kidneys. Also encourages the bowels. Dry skin brushing, rebounding, sweating are all good for the lymphatic system. Yeast always seem to clog my lymph.

What do you mean you scrape all that toxins off your skin? Do you really get goo off your skin? Wow - that seems like a lot of toxins coming out of your skin. Is it oil? You might benefit from doing a scrub. I usually use baking soda mixed with olive oil and make it into a paste. I do this weekly on my face to get rid of dead skin cells. You can make a lot and use this all over the body. The baking soda helps "scrub" the dead skin cells off. Before you get in the shower do the dry skin brushing then in the shower do the baking soda scrub. Wonder if that will help?

I squeeze a whole lemon into a glass of water. If I used a juicer and organic lemons, I'd use the rinds .... but I just squeeze a lemon in water.

Donna hope this works out well for you :) Are you noticing any difference with the addition of the B12 in your protocol?

I meant to mention before about the band aid reaction, this happens to me too! Even the hypo-allergenic tape I react too, it's crazy.

I don't so much itch though, I just get really red raised patches around where it has been applied.

My doctor's office uses a ball of cotton, then this no-glue self stick tape. It is very stretching tape, an 1-2 inches wide, she cuts a piece stretches it all around my arm and over the cotton ball she is holding on my arm, then it self sticks. No adhesive at all.

Berries are low in sugar. :)

You can definitely give yourself one! Just get an enema bag, lie on the bathroom floor, use lots of lubricant, hang the bag on the doorknob, and let the coffee run in! It's not hard. Have paper towels within reach and a clock that you can see so you can time 15 minutes. You might want to put on some music, time goes slowly.

LOL! Yep. I take my PDA with me and read e-books with my e-coffee. And yes, I try to do it after a BM if possible.

Be sure you get the right kind of bag. A little better quality "fountain" enema bag is much much easier than the other kind.

Jin, good to see you. Look forward to your update and sorry for all the rough days for you.

I'm hanging in there, bad cold/flu going around here and my DH is down. I think I have it mildly so far is all. Humaworm going okay so far, I agree with the different color in the BM, and a little sleeping trouble. However, this comes and goes for me. It has been better through the fall, and worse again lately. It may be following my cycles which are unpredictable at this point.

So far Ambien works though, so I am back to taking a half a regular most nights. Since the Humaworm is just a month, I am not too worried about the sleeping issue unless the Ambien stops helping.

By the way, I asked the massage lady today here what the bruised areas on my back (after the gua sha) indicated, and she said other then toxins in my system, it pointed to the lungs as a problem area.

The bruised areas haven't totally cleared yet, but in a few days I'll do another time and see what happens.

Jin,

Good to hear from you!

Paula,

Wow you DID start a lot of things all at once...any one of them can cause the body to go into panick mode. I've never smoked, but my mom and dad both did when I was small and my aunt does now and so I know it can be really hard to quit.

April,

The only thing I ever saw was some filmy looking tissuey stuff in the first few days (and once again towards the end...saw a tiny piece of it), and the rice-like stuff, which I'd seen a lot of times before the Humaworm.

My doctor's office uses a ball of cotton, then this no-glue self stick tape. It is very stretching tape, an 1-2 inches wide, she cuts a piece stretches it all around my arm and over the cotton ball she is holding on my arm, then it self sticks. No adhesive at all.

Yeah, I'll wear dark colors so even if it bleeds it won't show, lol. They use bandaids that are the most hypo-allergenic, so I'll try without anything at all this time...I'll hold the cotton ball on for a few minutes though.

By the way, I asked the massage lady today here what the bruised areas on my back (after the gua sha) indicated, and she said other then toxins in my system, it pointed to the lungs as a problem area.

Yikes!

I slept so good last night, only had one bad dream about an snake, i think its from all of u talking about humaworm lol. Of course my hubby had to wake me up and talk to me at 3:30 before he went to work at 4, but i went right back to sleep and slept til 6, when my dtr woke me up and said she wasnt tired anymore lol.

Donna,

I know i started way too much at once lol. I was actually supposed to quit before the new year, it has just been hard to with everything going on.

Today i woke up with my sinuses drainging, which is great cause i have been stuffed up for weeks now, so hopefully im going in the right direction after all lol

Paula, I think my sinuses are HUGELY affected by the candida/bacteria! So yeah, hopefully you're going in the right direction! :P

Hi All!

Just wanted to share my good news. Got my iron, B12 and folate results back today. Since taking gluten/dairy out of my diet, apparently I'm now able to absorb supplements. Yay! Not having to take the PPIs for reflux anymore is probably helping a lot too.

My ferritin's at 40 (up from 28 in July), B12's at 911, and folate's at 19.2. Woot! I don't have the old levels for the B12 and folate, but I was pretty deficient at the time according to the doc.

dlp252 Apprentice

GREAT NEWS NYXIE!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!

Nyxie63 Apprentice

Thanks Donna! I'm pretty darned pleased! :D

Now if only I could get this anxiety down to a dull roar. Been psyching myself out the past few days. What if the lyme test comes back negative? Then what do I do? What if I really am being a hypochondriac? What if my body really is falling apart little by little rather than having a cause for it all?

Stuff like that.

Been trying to keep busy around the house to keep my mind off of things, but it doesn't seem to want to go away. On the bright side, the holiday chaos has been put away and I've gotten several loads of laundry done.

Did you gals get this anxiety? What did you do about it?

dlp252 Apprentice

Well, yeah, I had a lot of anxiety I think. I was so certain that none of the testing I had done would show anything. All my friends here in Rachelville who had been tested for Lyme, had been found positive and I was so afraid that I wouldn't. ETA: not because I wanted Lyme, but because that would mean I wasn't any closer to finding out what I DID have, lol.

I think even my LLMD was surprised to see my "positive" Igenix results, lol. I KNOW I was, lol. Just keep in mind that a negative test doesn't necessarily mean you don't have it. There are all kinds of factors involved in testing of any kind.

I'd had doctor's tell me for so long that I was healthy, when I knew I wasn't, that I actually started to believe I was hypochondriac. None of THEM actually said that, but they just couldn't find anything. I know now that finding the right doctors to read the right tests is pretty important, lol.

Nyxie63 Apprentice

Oh good. Its not just me then. I think I'm afraid of seeing yet another doc and yet again not having an answer.

With any luck, if my results come back negative, the doc will just call and save me the trouble of 3 hours of driving and a $15 copay. Apparently, he's done this before to other patients. I really don't want to have to deal with this guy again if I don't have to.

Paula,

I'm going to be starting the 3-day stool test as well. Fun! (ew!) Figured while I'm at it, will do the hemoccult the GI wanted me to do. Killing 2 birds with one poop?

dlp252 Apprentice

Nyxie, was it Igenix...sorry I can't remember now. If so, post it here so we can see. If there are enough positive bands, you should see SOMEONE, lol, even if it isn't this guy. :P

Wow, lungs are a problem area huh. I'll be curious to see how this plays out.

Hope you and hubby aren't down long with the virus. :(

Great news Nyxie! I'd still try and find another LLMD somewhat near you, negative test or no. You need someone who will run lots of different tests.

Hi @Dizzyma I note what @trents has commented about you possibly posting from the UK.  Just to let you know that am a coeliac based in the UK, so if that is the case, do let me know if can help you with any questions on the NHS provision for coeliacs.    If you are indeed based in the UK, and coeliac disease is confirmed, I would thoroughly recommend you join Coeliac UK, as they provide a printed food and drink guide and also a phone app which you can take shopping with you so you can find out if a product is gluten free or not. But one thing I would like to say to you, no matter where you live, is you mention that your daughter is anxious.  I was always a bit of a nervous, anxious child but before my diagnosis in mid-life my anxiety levels were through the roof.   My anxiety got steadily better when I followed the gluten-free diet and vitamin and mineral deficiencies were addressed.  Anxiety is very common at diagnosis, you may well find that her anxiety will improve once your daughter follows a strict gluten-free diet. Cristiana

Welcome to the celic.com community @Dizzyma! I'm assuming you are in the U.K. since you speak of your daughter's celiac disease blood tests as "her bloods".  Has her physician officially diagnosed her has having celiac disease on the results of her blood tests alone? Normally, if the ttg-iga blood test results are positive, a follow-up endoscopy with biopsy of the small bowel lining to check for damage would be ordered to confirm the results of "the bloods". However if the ttg-iga test score is 10x normal or greater, some physicians, particularly in the U.K., will dispense with the endoscopy/biopsy. If there is to be an endoscopy/biopsy, your daughter should not yet begin the gluten free diet as doing so would allow healing of the small bowel lining to commence which may result in a biopsy finding having results that conflict with the blood work. Do you know if an endoscopy/biopsy is planned? Celiac disease can have onset at any stage of life, from infancy to old age. It has a genetic base but the genes remain dormant until and unless triggered by some stress event. The stress event can be many things but it is often a viral infection. About 40% of the general population have the genetic potential to develop celiac disease but only about 1% actually develop celiac disease. So, for most, the genes remain dormant.  Celiac disease is by nature an autoimmune disorder. That is to say, gluten ingestion triggers an immune response that causes the body to attack its own tissues. In this case, the attack happens in he lining of the small bowel, at least classically, though we now know there are other body systems that can sometimes be affected. So, for a person with celiac disease, when they ingest gluten, the body sends attacking cells to battle the gluten which causes inflammation as the gluten is being absorbed into the cells that make up the lining of the small bowel. This causes damage to the cells and over time, wears them down. This lining is composed of billions of tiny finger-like projections and which creates a tremendous surface area for absorbing nutrients from the food we eat. This area of the intestinal track is where all of our nutrition is absorbed. As these finger-like projections get worn down by the constant inflammation from continued gluten consumption before diagnosis (or after diagnosis in the case of those who are noncompliant) the efficiency of nutrient absorption from what we eat can be drastically reduced. This is why iron deficiency anemia and other nutrient deficiency related medical problems are so common in the celiac population. So, to answer your question about the wisdom of allowing your daughter to consume gluten on a limited basis to retain some tolerance to it, that would not be a sound approach because it would prevent healing of the lining of her small bowel. It would keep the fires of inflammation smoldering. The only wise course is strict adherence to a gluten free diet, once all tests to confirm celiac disease are complete.

Hi all, I have so many questions and feel like google is giving me very different information. Hoping I may get some more definite answers here. ok, my daughter has been diagnosed as a coeliac as her bloods show anti TTG antibodies are over 128. We have started her  on a full gluten free diet. my concerns are that she wasn’t actually physically sick on her regular diet, she had tummy issues and skin sores. My fear is that she will build up a complete intolerance to gluten and become physically sick if she has gluten. Is there anything to be said for keeping a small bit of gluten in the diet to stop her from developing a total intolerance?  also, she would be an anxious type of person, is it possible that stress is the reason she has become coeliac? I read that diagnosis later in childhood could be following a sickness or stress. How can she have been fine for the first 10 years and then become coeliac? sorry, I’m just very confused and really want to do right by her. I know a coeliac and she has a terrible time after she gets gluttened so just want to make sure going down a total gluten free road is the right choice. thank you for any help or advise xx
