Thanks for the link, Carla. That is interesting, but couldn't follow all of it.

Carla, Thanks for the link. I will read it later when I'm not so .

Sherry, Do the digestive enzymes help you a lot? Do they relieve nausea induced by eating?

tom Contributor
Yes, I did food testing after the fast, so it was to prepare for that...clear my system of all foods so I could test using organic foods, one food at a time.

I felt worse at first then felt quite well by day 5-6.

:) Thx for the info Sherry :)

I can't imagine 5 days w/out nourishment & feeling well.

So good thing I'm not the fastee . . .. . .faster?

do you find it helpful?

miamia Rookie

ok so i had my colonoscopy and endoscopy and as everyone said the prep was the owrst of it alll. But its over!!! The doc saw mild irritation and took biopsies. So those results will be in on Friday- of course you guys know me and can imagine how impatient I am!!!

The crazy thing was the Gi Doc was actually supisingly well versed in parasites leaky gut, etc. I was shocked I am thinking to possibly consult him or maybe have my doc and him do some serious talking.

There is more to say and i got my metal results in but i will post about that later.

Mia and Kassandra,

Yes, the digestive enzymes do help me with stomach upset, I noticed quite a bit when I ran out recently. Right now I am dealing with nausea again, maybe a virus, maybe the Levaquin. I'll double my enzymes today and see if it helps.

Dear Everyone,

Well, I will be typing out my super-long column after taking notes from what I just read. Yesterday was a big day. I began my makeover! We are going to go and finish up Wednesday at 1pm. Christine is great, and very understanding about my stomach issues. We also have a lot in common, and had a great time talking while doing my hair.

Right now, my hair is just slightly longer than shoulder-length, and kind of rainbow-looking. We still need to do some more stripping, but should be able to complete it in two hours or so next week. The hair dresser is as excited as I am, and so are some of the other students there! I was surprised, because I thought hairdressers liked it when they got to do what they wanted, but these were actually happy I knew exactly what I wanted instead of telling them to do whatever! If I can just get my stomach to hold out, I will be in good shape.

Sincerely,

Jin

I haven't had a chance to catch up with all of yesterday's posts, I had terrible vertigo all day yesterday and I'm still rather dizzy today :( .

Miamia, glad you checked in and I'm so relieved everything went ok. Thank goodness that is all over :D

I look ofrward to hearing the results.

Carla, I read through some of that link you had posted on the Cowden protocol study.

I am not following conventional lyme treatment, my protocol is a combination of Cowden and Klinghardt protocols from my ART session.

Ok, back to bed to try to make still my spinning surroundings.

Okay Jin, we'll expect to see an updated avatar soon!!! ;)

Everyone...just gave myself another B12 shot. :P Leg is not quite ready to fall off, but I still have a bruise on my other leg from the shot last week...I think I'll have a nice one on this leg this week too. :P Stupid self-administered B12 shots.:P

Yes, I think it was a Power Point presentation for the Lyme conference .... at least that's how it looked to me. It was interesting though.

After all we've talked about here, and learned here, I really feel like he is on the same page as I am. :) I'm on just about everything he mentions for detox.

This morning I felt GREAT! I woke up early and alert, and I just felt normal. I was trying to think about what made me feel so good so I could duplicate it :P . Then I remembered I skipped my GSE last night! It's a cyst buster. I just couldn't take it anymore and wanted to feel good for Mass this morning. At least I know the GSE is working .... and at least it doesn't make me feel as bad as Tindamax did. I'm also glad I'm taking the drops .... though they taste revolting, I can really control how much I take, and I do vary the dosage based on what I have to do that day.

Yea, can you let us know? That would be great!

Donna, How often do you give yourself B12 shots? Is it still 1x week? That's interesting you have a bruise, I haven't bruised from them.

Julie,

Sorry you're feeling dizzy! I hate that. I have been dizzy a lot too lately, but it's kinda the norm for me unfortunately.

Mia,

Glad everything went okay with your endo/colonoscopy.

Everyone,

I slept 12 hours! I am SO happy! I was SOOOO tired I actually had bloodshot eyes, which I've never had before! :o The only problem is having to wake up every 2 hours to take care of "feminine" stuff. ;)

tabasco32 Apprentice

Hey yeah I slept for 13 hours and still feel sleepy with red eyes. You know I am starting to realize I get this way when I take real long hot baths. I feel more tired the next day.Hmm <_<

So I was taking a bath and sweating profusely and then My heart beat was getting stronger and stronger. It felt like it was going to come out of my chest. Does this happen to anybody else, anyone, Rachel?

Yeah, I don't miss that every-two-hour taking care of feminine stuff, lol! HATED that, and for me it was more like every hour. but no more

I was giving myself the shots twice a week, I'm back to once per week for a couple of weeks, then I'll go back to two times a week. I don't know why it bruised so badly...it bruised almost immediately, but I guess it could have been because I rubbed it pretty hard with the cotton afterwards. Today I just swiped it a little bit, and it was bleeding a bit so I put a bandaid on it. So far, there's some discoloration, but not nearly as bad as last week, and it's in a line...not round! The bad one on my other leg is round. I don't know...I'm thinking being such a danger to myself, I should probably go to the doctor's office for these, lol.

I get that heart thing, but not from the baths. I used to get it when I would lay down to sleep...and sometimes if I woke up in the middle of the night. I get it sometimes now, at all different times--can't find a pattern to it.

Donna, I have been doing allergy shots for so many years...and sometimes I bruise and sometimes I don't. Its not really a big deal to me anymore. Seems like there are just some small vessels and sometimes I happen to hit one just right.

I'd suggest not rubbing after, just press and put pressure for a minute or two like you do when they draw your blood. It isn't foolproof, but it helps.

Sherry I am thinking Grapefruit Seed Extract? Maybe?

Thanks Kass, you are so sweet. Yeah there is a virus going around here and vertigo is one of the symptoms. I have never had it before, it's kind of scary.

Donna, sorry about your bruise :(

Lisa, I have read about that happening with the baths, can't recall exactly what it is. I will check into it and post it if I find the info.

I often get weak and can't stay in longer than 20 minutes.

ShadowSwallow Newbie

Mia,

I don't use prescription Digestive Enzymes, I use BioSet Protein Digestion and GastroCalm. They've been very effective for me. :)

Jin,

Congratualtions on starting your makeover! I can't wait to see your new picture!! :D

Carla,

That's wonderful news about your day! *tosses a mini party* :P:lol:

Julie,

I hope your vertigo lets up soon. :( All of the family's sick here... it's a nasty little bug.

Lisa,

That happens to me a lot when I take hot baths. I've found that just standing up in the tub would help (getting out of the hot water) as well as drinking cold water (with ice... but sometimes that made it worse). Just not heating the bath up so much (my skin used to turn red!) helped a lot.

Sherry,

I'm also nearly certain that GSE is Grapefruit Seed Extract. :)

Everyone,

I got the results from some bloodwork I got a few weeks ago (remember the coughing and biohazards story?). It's for intercelluar vitamin levels. Basically, I'm low in all my Bs (particularly B12... this isn't a surprise since I don't tolerate any sort of B supplement well at all... I'm actually allergic to the vitamin itself ) along with a couple miscellaneous others. Not too bad. I can't wait until my appointment Monday! :D

HELP! Anyone with knowledge about iron deficiency.

A year ago my daughter had terrible leg pains that would come and go. They got so bad that she wouldn't even walk on it. After 7 doctor visits a neurologist suggested it could be from iron deficiency.

Since she had levels high in lead, this could displace iron in the body. They checked her iron and the levels were okay in the blood but later my ND said they should have checked her iron stores (ferritin levels?)

Anyway, she responded positivily to iron supplement and then during the summer we did a short detox and it seemed she didn't need as much iron after that. My guess was that some of the lead was removed.

So, tonight she is getting bad pains again for the first time in a year. She is on the couch crying in pain and won't walk or hardly move. I gave her some iron and vitamin C with it, but its one of those things you don't want to overdose on.

Kassandra, what were your symptoms of anemia?? Did you have leg pains?

I am not sure what to do next right now.

CarlaB Enthusiast
Carla, what is GSE? I can't figure it out from the Cowden protocol.

Sherry

Yes, like everyone has said, grapefruit seed extract. It's not part of Cowden, my LLMD uses it as a cyst-buster. I had too much trouble with Tindamax, so we're going this less intense way.

Someone from LN sent me instructions on how to muscle test yourself .... I tested at needing 6 drops twice daily both when I had Adam test me and when I did it myself. I have been taking 10. So, maybe this will help some with my lingering symptoms. I really, really felt good this morning after skipping last night's dose.

Thanks for the party, Birdy. I was dancing around the kitchen this morning when I was making pancakes .... one of the kids asked if I had to go to the bathroom! I was just humming and dancing to some of the music we had played at Mass!

April, I get restless legs when my iron is low. And, sometimes I get it when it's technically within "safe" range ... like close to 12 .... I feel better when it's over 13. I'm talking about hemoglobin.

All you can do is give her some iron and C and wait.

mftnchn Explorer

Thanks, I need to research on the GSE and see how that compares to the resveratrol that I was taking which I think is an extract even more refined perhaps. The ART session said I should not take that so am no longer taking it.

I'm interested because I would like to be on a cyst-buster.

BTW my liver enzymes are now normal! So maybe I can try flagyl again eventually.

Green12 Enthusiast

Hi Birdy, I look forward to the update from your appt Mon :)

April, I know nothing about iron, but any chance she is potassium deficient??

I had a lot of leg pain and leg cramping for several years and eating foods high in potassium helped, don't know if your daughter is experiencing these same kinds of pains/cramps? Just a thought.

CarlaB Enthusiast

Yay for normal liver enzymes! You might try the GSE .... I take it in a drop form ... tastes pretty vile, but at least I can control how much I take since I'm so sensitive to it. I think Flagyl would kill me!

Green12 Enthusiast
BTW my liver enzymes are now normal!

Great news Sherry!

Did you do anything specific to try to get them down, or was it just a wait and see and retest thing?

I am hoping the homeopathic liver detox I am on will help mine return to normal on my next retest.

Have you tried Pure Encapsulations supplements? This is a brand my doctor recommends for me. I have no issues with this brand.

plant sources of calcium, such as spinach, have calcium bound to oxalates, which is not good. best source of calcium is unfortunately dairy, do you tolerate dairy? fermented dairy like kefir is good and or a little hard cheese. i do eat dairy, i can only take so much dietary restriction and gluten is hard enough! but i guess some people do have bad reactions to it, so different for everyone.
    • asaT
i take b12, folate, b2, b6, glycine, Nac, zinc, vk2 mk4, magnesium, coq10, pqq, tmg, creatine, omega 3, molybdnem (sp) and just started vit d. quite a list i know.  I have high homocysteine (last checked it was 19, but is always high and i finally decided to do something about it) and very low vitamin d, 10. have been opposed to this supp in the past, but going to try it at 5k units a day. having a pth test on friday, which is suspect will be high. my homocysteine has come down to around 9 with 3 weeks of these supplements and expect it to go down further. i also started on estrogen/progesterone. I have osteoporosis too, so that is why the hormones.  anyway, i think all celiacs should have homocysteine checked and treated if needed (easy enough with b vit, tmg). homocysteine very bad thing to be high for a whole host of reasons. all the bad ones, heart attack , stroke, alzi, cancer..... one of the most annoying things about celiacs (and there are so many!) is the weight gain. i guess i stayed thin all those years being undiagnosed because i was under absorbing everything including calories. going gluten-free and the weight gain has been terrible, 30#, but i'm sure a lot more went into that (hip replacement - and years of hip pain leading to inactivity when i was previously very active, probably all related to celiacs, menopause) yada yada. i seemed to lose appetite control, like there was low glp, or leptin or whatever all those hormones are that tell you that you are full and to stop eating. my appetite is immense and i'm never full. i guess decades or more ( i think i have had celiacs since at least my teens - was hospitalized for abdominal pain and diarrhea for which spastic colon was eventually diagnosed and had many episodes of diarrhea/abdominal pain through my 20's. but that symptom seemed to go away and i related it to dairy much more so than gluten. Also my growth was stunted, i'm the only shorty in my family. anyway, decades of malabsorption and maldigestion led to constant hunger, at least thats my theory. then when i started absorbing normally, wham!! FAT!!!

Great advise there I agree with the aniexty part, and the aura migraine has I suffer both, I've also read some great books that have helped I'm going too look the one you mentioned up too thankyou for that, I find a camomile tea just a small one and a gentle wind down before bed has helped me too, I suffer from restless leg syndrome and nerve pain hence I don't always sleep well at the best of times , racing mind catches up I have decorated my whole house in one night in my mind before 🤣 diet changes mindset really help , although I have to say it never just disappears, I find once I came to terms with who I am I managed a lot better  , a misconception is for many to change , that means to heal but that's not always the case , understanding and finding your coping mechanisms are vital tools , it's more productive to find that because there is no failure then no pressure to become something else , it's ok to be sad it's ok to not sleep , it's ok to worry , just try to see it has a journey not a task 🤗
    • nanny marley
I agree there I've tryed this myself to prove I can't eat gluten or lactose and it sets me back for about a month till I have to go back to being very strict to settle again
