I've decided I don't like this allergy testing. As part of the first screening, they do a spot with Candida to test your immune response (everyone reacts or is supposed to. if you don't, then your immune response is compromised). I figured, ok maybe red bump. No. Painful itchy blisters that still haven't gone away yet. Bleah. Guess my immune response is working... maybe too well.

I don't think you should still be reacting. My allergist told me to take Benadryl if my bumps/hives didn't go away after testing. Although you will have to be careful because depending on the next time you have testing...you have to have no anti histamine in your system. ;)

I'm glad to hear that things went well yesterday. And, Trader Joes isn't really an international market. It's just lots of organic prepared foods, etc. that are way more reasonable than Whole Foods.

Ok this morning at 5 am i took some activated charcoal, i figured it was time to take this and see if it helps with anything. And all i know is my stomach now hurts and im tired, am i supposed to feel like this. I have no idea what charcoal is actually supposed to do so im kinda lost anyway lol. I just wanted to try it cause so many with celiac or candida have used it to feel better.

Try doing detoxes every 6 months to clear all the built up crap out of your system.

There are different types. Find the one that works for you.

You can be allergic to parasites that live inside your body also. If so, get the para cleanse from Nature's sunshine.

It's meant to be used as a toxin binder. I don't know if you're supposed to feel like that. I never have, but my mom for example feels worse when she takes charcoal.

Hopefully someone with more "charcoal" experience will help. ;)

OK, so after posting here I decided to try and find someone to test me for mercury, the provoked urine test. We'll see.... but my question is, if I do have it, then what do I do? I am too sick to do chelation and I've heard horror stories about it. Plus, now I am trying to figure out what to do about this filling that needs to be replaced ?! My regular dentist doesn't get mercury at all. 'Plus I'm really broke with this health struggle to now pay out of pocket for a dentist. Should I just have him replace it and take a bunch of chorella afterwards? :P

Another question, would you still get tested for lyme even though I don't have many of the symptoms on the list? Or wait and address the mercury thing first? I know Rachel is most experienced in this so hopefully she'll pop in :D

HEya everyone just catching up

So I went to church last night. Yes they have church on Friday nights and I go. But anyway before that I have noticed this one boy about 13 or so he seems to scream when the praise and worship is getting louder.

I figured he has autism. So anyway I was at whole foods last night and what do you know, he and his mother were their. Anyways I introduced myself to her and asked her about her son..

She said he has autism and had strep throat real bad. She did'nt want me around him. So I told her if he is being treated and she said that they have been going to naturopathes but she feels it's too late for him. She believe they caught it to late and that he's not getting better.

They done chelation, strict diet and everything. I asked her if he has been checked for lyme disease and she looked surprised and said no that he hasn't. She says she is always up for anything new.

Do you think there could be any chance besides a miracle from God that he can be functional again.? Anyone?

Thanks kassandra,

Im thinking its not the charcoal that has me this way, i think its the beer i had last ngiht. i was so stressed after taking my little princess to the Er for cutting her finger i had to have one, it was that or an cigarette so i decided the beer would be less harmful to my body lol.

I only took one capsule, should i have taken 2, or should i get the pwder form of it, or oculd i just take them out of the capsule, they are 560 mg.

Uh oh...I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. Is she okay?

I believe I used to take 2 pills of charcoal at the same dose as you. I don't see why you would need to take the charcoal out of the caps or get powdered form. Good caps dissolve quickly, so I don't think it would matter to get the powder.

I'm assuming it was gluten free beer? That may be a stupid question but you never know. ;)

Beer is a BIG no no for candida...so that could be where the stomach pain is coming from. It fed the candida beasties.

OH GRRR!!! I can't believe it...I think it is NOT meant for me to see Dr. Amy.

I turned on my cell phone to see what time it was and it said I had a missed message. So I'm trying to listen, but I'm late for my massage appointment, so I gave up, but heard enough to know it was the scheduling person for Dr. Amy.

So, I get home and call back, but they're not in today...so I check when the message was left. WEDNESDAY!!! I'm sure all appointment times have been taken. I'll call on Monday just in case, but I'm pretty sure they're gone, because her last sentence was "call if you are still interested". If I were them and didn't hear back that day or the next I'd go to the next person on the list. :( I'm not kidding when I say I NEVER use my cell, lol. Don't have the thing turned on most of the time...I don't even know how they got it, lol.

So, my massage was fun. I completely forgot I even had an appointment today, but they were able to squeeze me in. The therapist has been massaging my stomach...well this time she said "your organs are so much better this time" and she specifically said my liver was MUCH better. :D I told her that Anna had given me some homeopathic drops for detoxing, and that must have taken some of the burden off! Yay!

I'm just hanging out here... too tired to post. :P

Ditto! I've been reading along, but by the time I log on, all questions and subjects are usually covered pretty well already, lol!

Same here, Donna and Birdy.

Lori, I am not sure what to say, but Andrea might have an idea. She is still waiting to do dental work I think, right Andrea?

I think she is still taking KingChlorella to help with the mercury.

Seems like testing for the mercury to figure out what you are dealing with, then maybe start with supporting your body's own detox pathways and adding the binders.

Yep, I'm taking King Chlorella. The dose was determined by muscle testing (ART). I still have my amalgams and plan to get them taken care of this fall.....the doctor is a mercury free dentist. I do know when I had my root canal pulled I was told to take x number of chlorella before and after the procedure.

Donna,

Sorry about the probably miss of Amy again. Hopefully she's here for longer this visit and you'll still be able to get in. Great news on the massage! :)

Aw. I hope you feel better soon. :)

Andrea,

What is KingChorella? Where do I get that? And where do I find a doctor who can do ART muscle testing? Once your fillings are removed then are going to do chelation? Or what other "plan" do people do when dealing with mercury? Thank you.

King Chlorella with Russian immure support is available online, but you'd need to be tested to see if your body even liked it. I had tried taking a different brand of chlorella before ART and it didn't agree with me, or I was taking too litle.

ART......I don't know what state you are in so that is more challenging. If you email the better health guy (I'd have to look up his website address but I think it's betterhealthguy.com, he may know of someone somewhere near you.

I don't know if I'll need to do chelation or not. I'll be leaving that up to my practitioner who does ART and my doctor who does chelation if need be. I'll probably have to do a challenge test, but I'm primarily be going off of what ART comes up with. Since I'm not chronically ill, I may be able to do things without chelation.

My last amalgam was taken out last year in February and I still haven't started chelation. My dentist suggested I wait for at least six months after removal, but I think that was because some people feel better just having them removed and maybe because sometimes removal can redistribute the load so to speak.

My doctor won't do chelation yet for me because my body is burdened with the mold situation. He is afraid that I would have a big set back. So we've basically been building up and supporting my body and it's ability to detox and handle chelation. And I'm taking homeopathic and supplemental support for helping with the mercury (and all the other stuff too). We're getting close to PERHAPS  doing a provoked challenge just to see what's there, but he wants me to see if my BioSET practitioner thinks my body can handle it...I don't know if they can test for that, but I'll know in a couple of weeks. :)

While I was in the process of having my amalgams removed, I took extra Vitamin C, chlorella and something called modified citrus pectin (plus a host of other nutritional things). The chlorella and pectin bind with the mercury. I have continued to take all of those for this last year.

Kassandra, be sure to bring your rain boots, LOL. We're supposed to have rain tomorrow and Tuesday. It'll be in the 60's tomorrow, then back down to the 30's.

Lori, I don't know that you want to take chelators while you still have amalgams. Hopefully Rachel will chime in soon, she's the mercury expert around here.

But I think chlorella would be something that would be good now and when you have the dental work done. My removal was covered by dental insurance because my fillings were old. I just had to pay the difference to get the white ones.

The ideal would be to find a biological dentist (www.mercuryfreedentists.com), but if you can't for some reason, at least take the previous suggestions (rubber dam, vitamin C, chlorella, etc.).

I would hold off on the Lyme testing. I just don't see that it makes sense if you're not showing symptoms, and that money is better spent on taking care of the mercury, etc. IMHO.

I was considering going to Dr. Mercola's clinic in Illinois because I've had it with feeling so sick and don't know where to go or what to do. It would cost $3000 to have tests run for 2 days. What do you think? www.mercola.com

I am setting up an appt. for a deep tissue massage. What do you feel like are the benefits you get from massages?

Big week! Big week! Big week!

Bouncy Bouncy!!!!

Today's allergy testing and getting the last minute stuff together for tomorrow. Oh yeah, and packing.

Tomorrow's my appt at Dr H's office. Might take my laptop with me and post something tomorrow night, provided I can figure out how to get the darned thing to work.

Wednesday, drive home.

Thursday, Hida scan. Eek!

------------------------------

Birdy, hope you're feeling better soon.

Kass, travel safe! Have a great time! :D

Lisa, I've heard various reviews about Mercola. I've read some of his work. Some of it seems to make sense, other stuff is too far out there for me. Three grand seems to be a lot of money, but getting an answer is priceless. Are there any holistic docs near you who could maybe do the same thing only cheaper? Some even take insurance.

CarlaB Enthusiast

Lori, I think Dr. Mercola would be a good thing. I get his newletter .... he is sometimes more over the top then we are here, LOL, but I think he knows HEALTH. He looks at the big picture, which is what we all need.

miamia, deep tissue massage is wonderful, but tell them to go easy as it releases a lot of toxins. Listen to your body, if it can take more, tell them deeper, if it hurts, tell them less. Drink lots of water, and perhaps take a binder to help with symptoms. You will most likely be tired the rest of the day. I used to get them on occasion after a herx and felt they cleared that achey feeling out of my muscles.

miamia Rookie

thanks for the response Carla and the advice . I am gonna try to schedule it for this week. I feel like my body is telling me it needs it!!!!

Listen to your body! That's how I felt when I'd get them. Now I don't feel that I need them so much anymore ..... unfortunately, LOL.

Kassandra gets here in a couple hours. My kids are so excited .... my girls even made their beds this morning .... funny, they never have time to make their beds before school, I laughed when I walked in there this morning.

I haven't looked in the basement yet ...... don't know if my 17 year old son is trying to impress her or not, but I'll know when I go down there, LOL.

@Levi, How are you doing?  Sorry I missed your posts.   How's your thyroid?  Did your Vitamin D stabilize?  Do you have long hauler syndrome after Covid? Consider switching to Vitamin D 3, the natural form of Vitamin D.  Vitamin D 2 is the synthetic form of Vitamin D which the body can have difficulty changing to an active form.  Also, Thiamine is needed to active Vitamin D.   Hypothyroidism can be caused by Thiamine deficiency.  The thyroid is an organ that uses lots of thiamine.  sometimes thyroid deficiency can also cause hyperthyroidism, or swings between both hyper- and hypo-thyroidism. We need more Thiamine when we're sick with an infection (like Covid) or injured.  We need more Thiamine when we're physically active.  We need more Thiamine when we're emotionally stressed or worried.  Our brain uses the more Thiamine just thinking than our muscles do while running a marathon.  Thiamine is extremely important in fighting infections.  Covid patients and long haulers have found taking Thiamine has improved their survival rate and long term symptoms.   Consider taking a Thiamine supplement like Benfotiamine which has been scientifically shown to promote intestinal healing.  Damaged villi need thiamine to grow back.   Be sure to take a magnesium supplement, too.  Thiamine and magnesium make life sustaining enzymes together.  You also need magnesium to keep calcium in the bones.  The thyroid regulates calcium.  A wonky thyroid can lead to reduced bone density.   Remember the B vitamins all work together in concert so adding a B Complex to Benfotiamine and magnesium supplements and Vitamin C would be great in improving absorption of nutrients while we're dealing with celiac disease. I'm looking for bars or non perishable snacks for my 2 kids. They are 5 and 3. The 3 year old seems sensitive to oats also. We do a lot of long hikes and bike rides. They eat mostly fresh foods but for these rides and hikes we need easy and non perishable. Also that taste good! We do a lot of larabars and freeze dried apples but those are getting old. Any ideas?

Oh, @MagsM, Sorry you had that happen with Niacin.  500mg is the maximum amount of Niacin one should take.  Niacin works hand in hand with Thiamine, so a big influx like that can imbalance thiamine if not supplemented at the same time.  All the B vitamins work together in concert.  Niacin in doses at 500 mg or above have been used by doctors to lower triglycerides levels and raise HDL, the good cholesterol.  Pharmaceuticals to do the same thing are more expensive and thus more profitable for physicians. Has your doctor tested you for H. Pylori?  An infection by H. Pylori can be tested for by your doctor.  H. Pylori can cause low tTg IgA results, too.   I would hold off on the microbiome test for now.  Your microbiome is going to change when you go gluten free.  Your microbiome will change when you start taking Thiamine.  Thiamine supplementation influences which microbes grow in the intestines, encouraging beneficial bacteria and getting rid of the bad ones.  Thiamine in the form Benfothiamine promotes intestinal healing, too.  Adopting the Autoimmune Protocol Diet (by Dr. Sarah Ballantyne, a Celiac herself) after diagnosis will also change your microbiome.  This is the best diet to heal and recover, IMO.   If you're going to have more testing done for vitamin deficiencies, don't take vitamin supplements beforehand, otherwise the tests will measure the vitamin supplements in your bloodstream and give false results.  Same thing will happen if you take B vitamin shots.  The supplements you mentioned (Arterosil HP and Vascanox HP) are herbal support and do not contain all eight B vitamins.  There's no harm in taking them, but I prefer a B Complex that contains all the B vitamins in activated forms like Life Extension's Bioactive Complete B Complex.  All the B vitamins work together in concert.  Magnesium is important to supplement as thiamine and magnesium make life sustaining enzymes together.  Do not buy supplements containing Thiamine Mononitrate because it is not biologically active.  It is very hard for the body to utilize.  Most of it (70%) passes out unused.    Yes, my Meniere's disease has not returned.  I was deficient in Vitamin D.  I took high doses of Vitamin D 3 to correct the deficiency quickly.  I also took TTFD (tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide) which is a form of thiamine different from Benfotiamine.  TTFD can cross the blood brain barrier without a carrier, so it can get into the brain very easily.  TTFD helps the Vagus nerve function.  The Vagus nerve regulates the ears and balance, and also the digestive system.  I like Allithiamine by Ecological Formulas.  I also like Thiamax by Objective Nutrients.  You should have improvements within a hour with TTFD.  TTFD is much stronger, so lower doses will give amazing benefits (50-200 mg).   I hope this helps give you some direction to take on your journey!

Thank you so much for this in depth analysis. I am currently taking Vit D3/K2 5000IU daily.i started taking a flushing Niacin but foolishly took a 500mg tab and nearly passed out! I have just ordered a gut microbiome genome test and it will be interesting to see what my current balance of microbes are. After I finish diagnosis I will definitely go gluten free. Diagnosis will inform exactly how strict I’ll need to be regarding cross contamination etc. my focus will be on healing the gut. I have also been focusing on the oral microbiome - cutting out FL and using more natural products as well as daily oil pulling. I read from some of your other forum entries about Benfothiamine and I’ll definitely order that. I’ll make sure my doc orders more detailed vitamin and mineral panel plus total IGA as well as the DGP-IGA and DGP-IGG tests. We will see if I can get the endoscopic biopsy done. Do you think I should request Vitamin B shots to get me started?  My daily vitamin protocol will likely be VitD/K2 5000IU, Benfothiamin 300x2, Niacin (flushing) 50mg working up to 300mg. I also take a EPA/DHA as well as some vascular support (Arterosil HP and Vascanox HP) as well as Magnesium at night. Which B complex brand do you like? I will see what the gut microbiome test comes back with. I’m sure they will try to sell me pre/probiotics and maybe some digestive enzymes. What are you thought on those? I’m curious if you managed to go into full remission from your Ménière’s disease? Thank you so much for your thoughtful insight. I know that building back up my gut health and immune health will help in so many ways as well as protecting me from many other major diseases as I go into my 60s and beyond.

You are right! The logo the have on their packages got me confused--it looks like they are less than 20ppm, not certified GF. Thanks for catching that! My brain also zeroed in on this "less than 10ppm" but I should have seen the rest...
