She was feeling pretty special last night. Bill & I have been married a little over a year. We met about 18 months ago. Long story but to make it short......we met on the internet.....come to find out I work with his mother....small world, huh? We went out on our first date & on our 2nd we went to meet his parents & then we went house hunting. We met in January....moved in in March....closed on our house in April....got married in July. She just loves him so much! It is pretty awesome! Ok, now I can't stop smiling! Ha!

Pink and Purple....hmmmmm....I dont recall liking those colors as a child. Am I the only girl who didnt go crazy for pink and purple ribbons??

I can tell you one thing for sure...now that I'm an adult I really dislike pinks and purples (except on flowers). I have nothing in either of those colors.

I had to wear a lavendar dress with matching lavendar heels for my moms wedding. At first I thought I might die but it actually wasnt too bad. I got over my phobia of "purples" just for that one day....only cuz it was my mom who was getting married.

If I ever remember to do it...I might just change my avatar to a pic from the wedding...it would have to be temporary though...I'm kind of attached to this one.

Bad day at the Preservation Meeting. We got sold out by the town who was worried about a law suit, by a TOWN COUNCILMAN. Town Council, appoints the Preservations Commission members (with semi-judicial authority)..that would be me, and currently Chairman. Town Manager is staff for the Town Council.

Town Councilman wanted vinyl replacment windows in his historical house, we denied. (wood, wood,wood), threated to sue the town, and they caved.....leaving us with our fingers up our *** (nose).

No reply needed. I am just screaming out loud.........CAN YOU HEAR ME.

I so resign my position as Senator for Rachelville and would like to solicit the position of Town Cryer if the job is open.

Lisa, we live in an historic house, but not declared a preservation district. To compromise, you might suggest Anderson renewal windows. They're less expensive than wood, look like wood, hold up better than wood ... if they're painted on both the inside and the outside, rather than stained, they look just like wood. We're very, very pleased! We got them both for the price and for the look. We would not have sacrificed look for money. In fact, they look just like the old ones we replaced, except that the inside air stays in and the outside air stays out ... also they open and close, what an novel idea!! It's a little unnerving when they come at your house with a crowbar!

Yep, I saw Rikki Tikki as the last post and said "That's Tavi". I came right in.

How have you been? Some of the girls are on the Tazorac thread and some are here. Tazorac seems to be all girls so it just depends on what you feel like. Some, including me, are going to all of them right now....but may not be able to do more than read all the threads in about 3 weeks. I will make sure I post. Don't consider me missing unless you've checked my profile to see when I was last on.

Hubby will be heading out tonight for southeastern Oregon. He will not be home until Thursday in all likelihood. I'll be lonely and hoping the board is somewhat busy til then.

Gotta go play with the baby, he's crying and wants attention. Probably already woke up Mitch.

I love to make people laugh - I try to find humor in everything (forgive me, but even funerals - like the time my grandfather's brother was laid out in coffin without socks on - shoes but no socks. Now my sister & I recalled that he never wore socks even in winter and it just made us giggle to see that. That sent us into the worst case of giggles where we had to leave the funeral home and walk outside a bit).

My Dad, my grandmother, my husband and I were in a limo going to my grandfather's funeral. My grandfather was quite the joker, and we noticed a bugger on my dad's glasses. We all started laughing about it! So, as we pull up to the funeral, we're all giggling and laughing ... everyone had to be wondering since we were the family! We decided it was one last practical joke that grandpa was pulling on Dad.

One time he called my dad and pretended to be the power company ... it was snowing like mad, and my grandfather had seen that on the news. He asked my dad to walk around the corner to see if the street light was on, so when my dad got back after trapsing in the snow, got on the phone and told grandpa it was on, grandpa said, "Well, blow it out you dummy!" My dad hung up and took the phone off the hook. My grandma was so mad because she had wanted to speak to my dad. So, the bugger had to be Grandpa's last practical joke.

I've got three weeks til my daughter and I start school and during that time will be trying (note: I said trying) to only be on here when I won't be teaching. A monumental task at that.

I found that most of homeschooling was waiting for them to finish this task, then waiting for them to finish that task ... of course that was when they could read, so by the end of first grade ... I spent time entertaining myself on the computer a lot when I homeschooled! You know, ya' have to sit there and watch them work, or they don't!!!

If your friend has already been reading it won't do much good as far as that person is concerned. You just have to decide whether anyone else you know would read through the epic and whether it is worth it to change your name.

I gotta wait till I'm on my home computer....and then I have to wait for a moment in time that I'm not feeling too lazy.

Possibly, this weekend....depending on the histamine levels and brainfeeze factors.

I never really wear dresses....only for special events. My mom getting married qualified....I'm just soooo thankful that I didnt trip or anything like that. I havent had much practice in heels so it was a tiny bit scary.

I'm going to order school desks the end of the month so they won't be here by the time we start, but I wanted to get them. I'm getting four, one for each child and me. Don't need them all right now obviously, but I want to save on shipping. They are pretty inexpensive, the ones with the opening in front instead of the raised top. I'm pretty sure that's what I'm getting. I need to make sure they are turned to the wall when not in use so baby fingers don't check everything out, and we don't have a lot of taste tests going on.

I'll always be on at some point at night.....probably when you east coasters are in bed and I'll be on at various points during the day, just can't browse as much as now. Speaking of taste tests....in progress on a pretty peice of paper.....oops a little paper story from Our Big Backyard. Just retreived and saved....Talitha would not be happy.

I am the same way! I live in running shoes and cross-trainers, or thongs, definitely everything flat, or at least nothing over a 2 inch wide heel. When I was in my brother's wedding I thought I was going to trip for sure going down the aisle in my bride's maid's heels.
