Well, I'm just joking around of course, but it is true you get that image of someone in your head based on their avatar.

I always wonder what people think of me

I am going to bury my head for this but...I did one of those bathtub toots once....and John heard me all the way out in the living room.

Just copying in so you can't change your mind and delete it later!

   I have never done that, I think simply because somewhere in the back of my mind I have this fear that instead of a fart... ok, nuff said!

Carla!! Wickedness! Now it's set in stone.

I always wonder what people think of me

I have thought, oh what a cute couple

Ooops, not the right couple

Based on all the avatars on this board I get the impression there are a whole lotta cats running around out there in this world with celiac :lol:

It seems cats are the most popular avatar subject......

tom Contributor

OK maybe I shouldn't bother .. . . .but it WAS a funny silly day!

...Did he leap up in the air, and it squished against opposing player's deltoid?

<pulls up chair and reaches for another handful of popcorn> B)

. .. and when he asked him what his hobbies were, Ryan said practising trumpet. My grandpa and I almost died laughing!

ROFL

. .. .. He was in fact teabagged to death by chuck Norris.

So sayeth the Queen!!

I always wonder what people think of me

I always wonder what your fiance thinks of how far you can stretch a grocery dollar. :o

You know what I think about all the avatars here on this board? Seems to be a whole lotta cats running around out there in this world with celiac :lol:

Well, that settles it . . . Amanda, you need to trade in your Danny (No, that is not my fiance) at Wegman's av for your furball Lucky cat av!

Darn210 Enthusiast
Oh...I'm confused!:huh: Need some clarification, or play-by-play of my own, here. I read the definitions of T-bagged, then tried to imagine a player T-bagging another player on the shoulder. Huh? Cannot configure this...Did he leap up in the air, and it squished against opposing player's deltoid? I need a flowchart!

Wow . . . that was today? Seems like so long ago . . . must be time for bed (in the eastern time zone). SOME people have to go to work in the morning!!! . . . not me, but SOME people . . . ;)

You should see the rock climbing ones, it's quite a skill to climb AND carry the glass of wine without spilling a drop.

:lol::lol:

:o:lol: the skydiving one was impressive too!

And the steeplechase and the cartwheels.

Nary a spilt drop.

DingoGirl Enthusiast

oops double post - too much wine?

Perhaps your purpose is spreading the word on the oft-ignored gluten/mental health connection.

You'd do it well.

that's what I thought, too.

:( But....I'm....too.....tired. Seriously. Why didn't God take gluten out of my life a decade earlier, when I had all my FIGHT and STAMINA???

(oh sorry - too serious - - will take up elsewhere, or not at all, as it were, when menstrual hormones are spent)

I am just in a ferociously cranky mood tonight. HARUMMPH!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, boy  ....I'm a piece of work. In the context of this thread, I find it all hilarious: machine guns, yetis and their poop, T-bagging, 38 longs, Gay Chuck and the gang... nothing disgusts me.

Can I be saved? <_<

No. There IS something wrong with us, definitely.

Our Maine Coon is actually a Maine Coon mix of some sort, he is 1 and 1/2 and he is huge! He weighs about 14 lbs. He is so loveable.

OHHH!! a fourteen-pounder!!! My beloved dead Cookster Kitty was 15 pounds, all her life. Bit fat fabulous and fearless ball of Him-ahl-yan fun. No cat like her in the world. She was wildly popular - two of my friends had pictures of the old girl up at their desks at work. When she died, 14 years ago, is when I said to myself, there will never be a cat like that again. I must get a dog.

and then dingos entered my life.

I absolutely believe that it's genetic. In my case, I got it from my father, who I think may hold the record for the longest fart in the history of the world. Or at least since Chuck Norris last had beanie wienies.

-Sarah

Did y'all know I can do the longest BURP in the entire world? such a special talent....can only say a portion of the alphabet though. workign on that. ;)

OK, I have to bring this up now. Maybe some of you guys that have been around awhile have seen other pictures of Susie. But to my recollection, I've only seen this one with her holding a glass of wine. So now I have a picture of her in my head of her Larry King interview while holding her glass of wine. In fact that is how I always picture Susie . . . because thats the only picture I've seen. Holding a glass of wine while she does her yard work. Holding a glass of wine while she walks the Dingos. Holding a glass of wine while rummaging through her trash. And sometimes I think . . . "Susie! You really shouldn't be drinking at 8:00 in the morning! Put down the glass of wine for Pete's sake!"

The hell you say!!!!!!!!!!!! Put the glass down? WHAT?

Well, I've seen LOTS of pictures of Susie Q, and you are right, in each and every one she is holding a glass of wine.

You should see the rock climbing ones, it's quite a skill to climb AND carry the glass of wine without spilling a drop.

a true talent and skill, I tell you.

Oh, Oh, Oh . . . a debate!!!! Nature vs. Nurture. Is humoUr (and the type of humoUr preferred) hereditary or environmental?
'

Well, I was raised in a family that disallowed all scatological humoUr.....it just made us worse and worse.

By the way... Christian farts are funnier. :o

GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! good one!!! yes they are.

oh my Lorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd!!!!!!!! So true!!!

Have I told you lately how much I love this picture?!?!?!

This is what set in motion I believe the "what do you want to do when you are better/now that you are better" question in OMG.

A rock climbing adventure is inspiring :D

OMG, I am addicted to TLC programs. My favorite is Little People Big World and John and Kate + 8. THose crazy Rollofs and now John and Kate and their 8 kids.....good times!

Plus I like anything to do with medical mysteries, and I'll watch anything that shows a surgery  I know, I'm a little strange...

Is there a genetic component to "bathroom humour," which only some have? (perhaps the same marker that lets only certain members of population detect the bitterness in cruciferous vegetables?)

I think there is  ..and lets remember,if everyone found cruciferous veggies bitter then there wouldn't be quite so much excess wind in the world ;)

Well, everyone has something that bugs them. I'm horrified by the machine gun references, but I understand that people see things in different ways and if someone can find a way to make guns funny, then more power to them. We need more laughter in the world.

Agreed - guns kill people - farts don't.....wait  ......maybe Chuck Norris farts kill.

Oh, boy  ....I'm a piece of work. In the context of this thread, I find it all hilarious: machine guns, yetis and their poop, T-bagging, 38 longs, Gay Chuck and the gang... nothing disgusts me.

Well, Christian farts may be funnier, but Agnostic farts are smellier. (I dunno WTH that means...! )

A genetic predisposition to bathroom humour...yes, definitely...something that was not passed on to me. I have never been able to figure out why my family and I never found poop and farting humourous, when the world guffawed around us. But that makes sense--generations of hard-wiring. May have to hit my reset button for this thread!

What fascinating personal genetic markers can we share with one another?

Let's see...I'm something of a boring wasteland. I can fold my tongue in half...I have perfect pitch (gone, now, I believe! :( ), my second toe is a good deal longer than my first, and oh! Anyone else have dimples above their bum?

Hmmm . . . I can roll my tongue, my earlobes are free (remember that one, do they dangle (free) or are they attached - I hesitate to use the word dangle on this thread with all that has been said before), and when I was younger, I could lay on my stomach, arch my back and bring my toes around and touch my nose - that would put me in the hospital now.

I wonder if bathroom humour is associated with the Y chromosone - it sure seems to be predisposed to development by men more so than women. (An argument for genetics, then, eh?)

plant sources of calcium, such as spinach, have calcium bound to oxalates, which is not good. best source of calcium is unfortunately dairy, do you tolerate dairy? fermented dairy like kefir is good and or a little hard cheese. i do eat dairy, i can only take so much dietary restriction and gluten is hard enough! but i guess some people do have bad reactions to it, so different for everyone.

i take b12, folate, b2, b6, glycine, Nac, zinc, vk2 mk4, magnesium, coq10, pqq, tmg, creatine, omega 3, molybdnem (sp) and just started vit d. quite a list i know.  I have high homocysteine (last checked it was 19, but is always high and i finally decided to do something about it) and very low vitamin d, 10. have been opposed to this supp in the past, but going to try it at 5k units a day. having a pth test on friday, which is suspect will be high. my homocysteine has come down to around 9 with 3 weeks of these supplements and expect it to go down further. i also started on estrogen/progesterone. I have osteoporosis too, so that is why the hormones.  anyway, i think all celiacs should have homocysteine checked and treated if needed (easy enough with b vit, tmg). homocysteine very bad thing to be high for a whole host of reasons. all the bad ones, heart attack , stroke, alzi, cancer..... one of the most annoying things about celiacs (and there are so many!) is the weight gain. i guess i stayed thin all those years being undiagnosed because i was under absorbing everything including calories. going gluten-free and the weight gain has been terrible, 30#, but i'm sure a lot more went into that (hip replacement - and years of hip pain leading to inactivity when i was previously very active, probably all related to celiacs, menopause) yada yada. i seemed to lose appetite control, like there was low glp, or leptin or whatever all those hormones are that tell you that you are full and to stop eating. my appetite is immense and i'm never full. i guess decades or more ( i think i have had celiacs since at least my teens - was hospitalized for abdominal pain and diarrhea for which spastic colon was eventually diagnosed and had many episodes of diarrhea/abdominal pain through my 20's. but that symptom seemed to go away and i related it to dairy much more so than gluten. Also my growth was stunted, i'm the only shorty in my family. anyway, decades of malabsorption and maldigestion led to constant hunger, at least thats my theory. then when i started absorbing normally, wham!! FAT!!!

Great advise there I agree with the aniexty part, and the aura migraine has I suffer both, I've also read some great books that have helped I'm going too look the one you mentioned up too thankyou for that, I find a camomile tea just a small one and a gentle wind down before bed has helped me too, I suffer from restless leg syndrome and nerve pain hence I don't always sleep well at the best of times , racing mind catches up I have decorated my whole house in one night in my mind before 🤣 diet changes mindset really help , although I have to say it never just disappears, I find once I came to terms with who I am I managed a lot better  , a misconception is for many to change , that means to heal but that's not always the case , understanding and finding your coping mechanisms are vital tools , it's more productive to find that because there is no failure then no pressure to become something else , it's ok to be sad it's ok to not sleep , it's ok to worry , just try to see it has a journey not a task 🤗
    • nanny marley
I agree there I've tryed this myself to prove I can't eat gluten or lactose and it sets me back for about a month till I have to go back to being very strict to settle again
    • trents
You may also need to supplement with B12 as this vitamin is also involved in iron assimilation and is often deficient in long-term undiagnosed celiac disease.
