Well, I was hopin' it would go by unnoticed . . . but now that you've drawn everybody's attention to it . . . I'm doomed! :o:ph34r:

Insurance is paid up, we do have flood coverage, sump pump is working with battery back-up in place, I won't do any laundry or dishes until I get over 1100 posts, children will not be allowed to come into contact with other children or sharp objects (in fact, I think I'll just wrap them in bubble wrap), WTH am I going to do about the toilets??!!!??? Help Me!!!!

Weight of purses-- precisely! I simply do not understand women who carry itty bitty purses. Actually, one of my friends carries an itty bitty purse, and guess what? Every time we go out, she realizes she doesn't have something in there that she needs. I have it all. ;)

There for awhile, both my boys were in diapers at the same time. I didn't carry a purse or a diaper bag. I carried a huge backpack.

Oh and I also noticed what's coming up for Janet.....

Are you kidding???? Now that she can finally read she's curled up with a squirrel martini (following Peter's lead) going through all 500-some-odd pages. Surely, if you listen, you can hear her yelling "MOM!!!!" Whenever you've said something embarrassing about her.

a squirrel martini!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well.....have to correct you girls......Lauren and I actually discovered what Tika was saying to me, in those moments of intensive, willing-you-to-do-something stares........it was :

mommy-mommy-mommy-MOMMY-mommy-mommy-mommy-mommy-mommy-MOMMY-MOMMY-

MOMMY-MOMMY-mommy-MOMMY-MOMMY-MOMMY-MOMMY-MOMMY-mommy-mommy-mommy

mommy-mommy-mommy-MOMMY-MOMMY!!!!!!!-MOMMY!!!!!!!-mommy-mommy....(ad nauseum)

 <------ with a face like that, only more intense....and hot breath coming out onto your leg whilst you read the newspaper, her nose only one or two inches behind the paper....

might this fluid leak be part of Janet's one thousandth?????????

OMG - the Jeep is being detailed as we speak!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gus does this...however, after a few moments of his face being two inches from said newspaper, and me stubbornly ignoring him, he'll put a massive paw into the paper, sometimes ripping it and scaring the s**t out of me. I will then see his pathetic, pleading, staring face, like this:

*snort* Stinker was so effective w/ her super-powered dingo brain that, I'm not kidding, pawing and vocalizing were never necessary.

:( Annie has lost.....her North Star........it is heartbreaking.......she is SO sad....I don't know how long she will grieve, or what to do. Thinking about going to the cabin this weekend....but she's never been ANYWHERE without her Stinker.....she finds moderate joy in running through the orchard, but, it's not the same. I know she'd enjoy the beach adn all the dogs.....and our friends will meet us there.....

Thanks be to GOD that I am not a gluten-brain, or you'd be scraping me off the FLOOR from heartache!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An elderly neighbor in my old neighborhood was having a boot yard sale. Her daughters brought over all of their baby stuff to sell . . . high chair, pack-n-play, etc. I said "You know the best way to get pregnant is to sell all your baby stuff". They had the nerve to laugh at me and asked me if my mother never taught me the facts of life . . . About 6 months later, one of them was pregnant. Who's laughin' now, missy???!!!!

Emily, love the new Gus av!

hhhmmmm, that's not what I learned......

does that mean if I never have baby stuff to sell I'll never get pregnant?

should we all send baby stuff to Amanda so she can sell it and improve her chances?

No, no, no . . . it is not considered reliable birth control!!!

But yes, this part I do believe is true!!!

No, no, no . . . it is not considered reliable birth control!!!

When I was becoming sexually active, my mom gave me the birth control talk which consisted of "If the rhythm method worked, there would only have been 2 or 3 of you kids"

There are 7 of us.

Now, of course, I realize that the efficacy of her method was compromised by the selling of baby stuff in between births.

My sister is 5 years older than I am. I mentioned it in a previous post that she got "started" a little early. She had her first daughter when she was 17. So my grandmother took it upon herself to have a sex talk with me . . . perhaps she thought if she had talked to my sister, she wouldn't have found herself in the "family way". So there I sat (age 14) , MORTIFIED, just screaming in my head over and over "This is ALL Linda's fault!!" And just so you know, the talk can be summerized as "Nice girls don't do it." Not like that whole scene scarred me for life or anything . . . I can laugh about it now . . . ha . . . haha. . .

my mom gave me "the talk" in fourth grade. I"ll never forget it - there I was, MINDIN' MY OWN BIDNESS, watching TV.......she comes up behind me and in this crazily stiff voice says she wants to talk to me. Not kidding, 'twas like an alien had overtaken her body. She takes me back to their bedroom and talks to me whilst showing me pictures of the reproductive organs in a book. She was acting all crazy-like and....... well, I don't really know what to say about it except that what I remember most was how kooky she was acting....I think I knew most the other stuff, anyway, from those wicked teenaged boys who hung out with my brothers.

anywho, after I was armed with my new knowledge and the SOLID facts, I told everyone all about it.

oh yeah...selling the baby stuff - SURE way to get pregnant. Everyone knows that.

jerseyangel Proficient

My mother never really told me anything.....she would have my aunt (her sister) who I was very close to do it. The rest I learned from the older kids in the neighborhood--on the streets, as it were. :P

I remember "the movie" :o in 6th grade. Our parents had to sign a permission slip in order for us to see it.

One for the girls and another for the boys--shown separately, of course. ;) Ours was followed by a talk by the school nurse.....

The whole thing was a major production. <_<

(Ya'll have to remember, I'm very old  )

Hello everyone. I am Elena and am 38 years old. I suspect I have a gluten intolerance even if my celiac panel is ok. I have the following symptoms : facial flushing, Red dots not bumps în face, bloating abdominal distension, hair loss, depression anxiety even with meds and even bipolar. Fatigue extreme to the point of not being able to work. All of these after I eat gluten. Could I have non celiac gluten sensitivity? Thanks anyone else with these symptoms?

Hi Everyone,  I do appreciate your replies to my original post.   Here is where I am now in this journey.  I am currently seeing a Naturopath.  One thing I did not post before is that I take Esomeprazole for GERD.  My Naturopath believes that the decrease in the gastric acid has allowed the yeast to grow.    She has put me on some digestive enzymes.  She also put me on Zinc, Selenium, B 12, as she felt that I was not absorbing my vitamins. I am about 5 weeks into this treatment, and I am feeling better. I did not have any trouble taking the Fluconazole.
    • Ceekay
I'm sure it's chemically perfect. Most of them taste lousy!

Hi @JulieRe.  I just found your post.  It seems that I am also experiencing thrush, and my doctor believes that I have fungal overgrowth in my gut, which is most likely candida.  I'm seeing my GI doctor next week, so I'm hoping she can diagnose and confirm this and then give me an antifungal treatment.  In the meantime, I have been working with a functional medicine doctor, doing a candida cleanse and taking vitamins. It's already helping to make me feel better (with some ups and downs, of course), so I do think the yeast is definitely a problem for me on top of my celiac disease and I'm hoping my GI doctor can look into this a bit further.  So, how about you?  Did the candida come back, or is it still gone following your fluconazole treatment?  Also, was it awful to take fluconazole?  I understand that taking an antifungal can cause a reaction that sometimes makes people feel sick while they're taking it.  I hope you're doing better still !
    • Scott Adams
I'm so sorry you're going through this—the "gluten challenge" is notoriously brutal, and it's awful to deliberately make yourself sick when you've already found the answer. For the joint pain, many people find that over-the-counter anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen can help take the edge off, and using heating pads or warm baths can provide some direct relief for the aches. For the digestive misery, stick to simple, easy-to-digest foods (like plain rice, bananas, and bone broth) and drink plenty of water and electrolytes to stay hydrated. It feels like the longest month ever, but you are doing the right thing to get a clear diagnosis, which can be crucial for your long-term health and getting the proper care. Hang in there; you can get through this! This article, and the comments below it, may be helpful:
