Churchill  Wittiest man who ever lived, methinks......

...there are so many good ones...Poeter's one of me faves BUT I also love this one:

Lady Nancy Astor:'' Winston, if you were my husband, I'd poison your tea.''

Churchill:'' Nancy, if I were your husband, I'd drink it.

.....this is when I jump on his back, curled up like a bug, and cling to him for dear life........'tis quite funny to everyone, esp. to David.....as he was crouched down, looking at sumfin' on bottom shelf, I attacked

If one can imagine, DH does this to me.. .. . yes, all 180 pounds of him, on my back. Curled up like one mother bug. Also quite funny to everyone... .. .although I'm failing to find as much humour in it the older I get. . ...

Sounds like a scene out of the Pink Panther with Peter Sellers & 'Cato'

 'tis not unlike that! Must point out, though, that June Bug is accompanied by the warning cry: "JUNE BUG!!!!!!!!!!!" and then the pounce....... I invented it while Kissey was rolling out his sleeping mat and bag in teh tent.............he can't shake me off, no matter how hard me tries

Much has transpired in the last two days with regard to our staffing challenges. I can't share anything in a public space, but something I did not expect has developed. Don't rule out silly Peter in Philly just yet.

ooooooooooo intrigue

Ya know, Phataughm, I've been thinking along this line for you too. I also wonder if you might not have yet another food intolerance. I had months and months of feeling better and than not--and it's so disheartening to have this happen over and over again. I ended up having to cut out quite a few foods --just about every plant protein known to man. I know your diet is very strict already, but could there possibly be something you eat often that has turned into a culprit now?

Just thinkin' B) Stupid leaky gut

Yeahhhhhhhh I do wonder about that.

First I've got to get back to practicing what I used to preach over on OMG - not having ANYTHING that I'm not positive is 100% safe.

Maybe 2 or 3 wks w/out trying any tests of the maybe-or-probably-safe stuff will get me back to happy & silly. :)

Thx for bringing up your thoughts.

It may soon be time for me to try some of the testing done by the OMGers.

You know, life just wouldn't be right if we weren't gettin' slapped around by Nikki once a month . . .:lol:

Yes, and we got a bonus :evilcackle: this time

Well, if you kept doubling back you went twice as far as everyone else!

So . .. .Janet, Lisa, Jess . . ..am I the only one that starts thinking of the equations for this?

Peter! Yes, intrigue, indeed......did Yeti show up after all? (no one seems to know where he is)

Jin's pudding explosion   Yes, that WAS a good'un...........

well, must forage around for dinner now........sick of it........wish I could just eat pop tarts fer dinner, like the good ol' days :huh:

I made a mistake and panicked that I wouldn't have enough time to fix it now that the edit function is a time limited offer, so I decided to just erase it all. ;) See below!

Scott claims a longer time, but my empirical investigations indicate that you have as a minimum two hours to make corrections. Welcome back, Alex, and I am waiting to see what you almost posted before chickening out.

Actually, I've glanced again at that photo, and I look quite like a cow, I believe.. . .Extremely unflattering.:angry: Perhaps when one is caught running, it's an automatic ten-pounds-go-on kind of illusion. Hell, I hope so... .

Au contraire, quite svelte I think. A little like Open Original Shared Link maybe. This adds credence to my "Skinny Mirror" theory. The theory goes that the way you see yourself in a skinny mirror (eg. those deceptive mirrors in fitting rooms that make everything look good on you) is the way that everyone else sees you in real life. So basically we all see you as looking ~10 pounds lighter than you see yourself looking in that picture! B)

Who knew you were so buxom -- I like that word. But nah, I prefer the picture of the tired runner who ran back and forth to cross the finish line with her son. A MUCH more attractive photo! :)

We went to see Indiana Jones tonight. Pretty good -- but not really my kind of movie. I can only willingly suspend my disbelief so much!

That's good to know. I guess 2 hours would have been enough to go back and make all of the necessary corrections! I wasn't sure what kind of time line we were looking at. I was afraid if I took too long it wouldn't let me submit my modified post.

Hmmmmm........theoretically, one could hypothesize that Emily could have traveled as much as 3 times the distance of said Ripper. Let's see....if we knew the time at which they completed the race....... and the speed at which subject Emily traveled.....let's assume for the sake of argument that Ripper traveled at 2 m/s...( speed =distance/time)......he would finish the 5k race in 1.44 hrs.....if Emily finished at the same time, traveling at 4 m/s,.....(distance=speed x time).... she would travel a distance of 20.76k........however, if you take into consideration that Emily's speed fluctuated, as she would most assuredly would want to decelerate to Ripper's pace on occassion.......

Don't forget that as she was returning to the Ripper, he was moving forward, so each double-back did not constitute a full double distance.

I think the couch is calling to me now........ A short Sunday nap..........chores later.......SOOOOOO much fun going to Lowe's after a couple o' mojitos........ I even did June Bug to David......this is when I jump on his back, curled up like a bug, and cling to him for dear life........'tis quite funny to everyone, esp. to David.....as he was crouched down, looking at sumfin' on bottom shelf, I attacked

Across the pond, I believe this maneuver is called the "Piggy-Bat".

My original calculations were based on the guesstimation that Emily was running twice as fast as the Ripper was walking and he ran a straight 5K, and she continued running the entire time that he was walking, whether she was doubling back or running in circles or whatever. But obviously there's a flaw in my theory  I said I love math.....that doesn't necessarily mean I'm always good at it :lol::lol:

that reminds me of Jin's Pudding Explosion circa aught-six.

Morning, Sillies!!

Ahhhhh, what a perfect flurry of late-night posts for me to have missed - - could honestly feel my stomach tightening as I skipped through the problem-solving equations and hypotheses of the two travelled distances from our race... .. .honestly, you number people!!

Actually, at the top of our pic the time is shown as we crossed the finish line - - 44:10. :) Another fact to consider in your calculations: I'm fairly certain I doubled back eight times.. . ..but no idea how much farther ahead of Jack I had gotten each time before turning back....

Gaaaaaaahhhhhhh..... ... .my braaaaaaaiiiiiinnnnnn.............

Across the pond, I believe this maneuver is called the "Piggy-Bat".

Yes! Nikki's av - - it's the Kisseys out shopping!

Nikki! We were typically mystified and properly shocked as the niave little Canadian tourists that we were....each time we boarded the subway in London last summer, to see beer flowing freely, lots of soccer-singing, hands up skirts, staggering and bellowing (and honestly, this was not midnight - - it was late afternoon!).. ..

Nikki...........now that I ponder this, I remember getting on at Camden Town and sharing the car with a loud, wanton woman, wild, curly hair flying about, dancing on the seats, blistered feet causing her to swear like a trucker.... .. .

Could it have been?.... ... ..

I don't see how cornstarch could alter the test results. Where did you read that?

For pain relief I take a combination of Thiamine (Benfotiamine), Pyridoxine B 6, and Cobalamine B12.  The combination of these three vitamins has analgesic effects.  I have back pain and this really works.  The B vitamins are water soluble and easily excreted.   Hope this helps!  Keep us posted on your results!

Welcome to the forum, @Xravith. I experienced similar symptoms before my diagnosis.  Mine were due to the loss of vitamins and minerals, essential nutrients we must get from our food.  With Celiac Disease, the intestinal lining, made up of thousands of villi, gets damaged and cannot absorb essential vitamins and minerals, especially the eight B vitamins.  The loss of Thiamine B 1 can cause muscle loss, inability to gain weight, edema (swelling), fatigue, migraines and palpitations.  Low thiamine can cause Gastrointestinal Beriberi with symptoms of nausea, abdominal pain and bloating.   Thiamine is only stored for a couple of weeks, so if you don't absorb enough from food daily, as the thiamine deficiency worsens physical symptoms gradually worsen.  If you're eating lots of carbs (like gluten containing foods usually do), you need more thiamine to process them (called high calorie malnutrition).  Thiamine works with all the other B vitamins, so if you're low in one, you're probably getting low in the others, too, and minerals like iron, magnesium, zinc, and calcium, as well as Vitamin D..  Talk to your doctor about checking for nutritional deficiencies.  Most doctors rarely recognize vitamin deficiency symptoms, especially in thiamine. Get a DNA test to see if you carry any Celiac genes.  If you do not have genetic markers for Celiac, it's probably IBS.  If you do have genetic markers for Celiac, it's probably Celiac.  I was misdiagnosed with IBS for years before my Celiac diagnosis.   Keep us posted on your progress. P. S. Deficiency in thiamine can cause false negatives on antibody tests, as can diabetes and anemia.

No she didn't because if I want to ask I have to pay 700$ for 1 hour appointment so I couldn't even ask. I read that fillers like cornstash can alter the result and tylenol contains it so that's why I tried to find someone who can answer.
    • trents
Did the GI doc give you any rational for stopping the Tylenol during the gluten challenge? I have never heard of this before and I can't imagine a good reason for it. Ibuprofen, maybe, because it is an anti inflammatory but acetaminophen?  I don't see that it would have any impact on the test results to take Tylenol.
