Have never seen a snake at this house . . . I think one of us would have seen one by now if that was our problem (and this would also have filled my children's hearts with glee). I have heard that if a frog finds your pond, he will stay. If you bring one to your pond, he will eventually leave. Problem is, frogs just don't "happen" by our little pond . . . perhaps I should put out signs.

 Or add a little fountain or waterfall. The sound of running water helps attract them, too.

Or how about the homeopathic approach - - like attracts like? You need to put out little frog decoys, perhaps a cute little female frog, to attact a couple of males. You could have a hidden speaker out there, playing a loop of croaking frog-chatter.... .... ...

Hey, it'd work for me.... . ..

Perhaps we need to adopt this approach with our lost yeti. One huge yeti effigy, sitting on my doorstep.... ...

My knee has been bothering me so much that it has been keeping me from doing some of the things that I like to do and forget about spending any time with Sven, just too painful!!

Phorget physical therapy. Just get some good drugs, gia-gnet  But anywho, good that yer finally getting this done.......you'll be back to Sven in no time. :)

Jeez, if only I could somehow nonchalantly get Llamalady to divulge her inseam measurement.....I'd know in a second if she's our yeti!

*snooooooooooort*

Excellent. Where is LL? no sighting today...........methinks this confirms, 'tis our angry, abandoned yeti.......just toying with us.........

Does anyone else suspect that our lost, neglected, embittered yeti just might be behind the disappearance of these Silly frogs?

  Well I do

Problem is, frogs just don't "happen" by our little pond . . . perhaps I should put out signs.

Or, put a couple o' dingos in yer yard. Go figure, w/ two dogs in the back, tons and tons of phrogs here. Three years ago, when we moved in, they were just miniscule - so cute - about 3/4 inch each. Got bigger and bigger - and fewer and fewer (uglier too) - as each season passed. And now, three years later, we have tons of cute li'l Lilliputian frogs again.......... Weezee loves 'em, but doesn't eat them. Poor Old Stink loved her a good froggie............ she'd have been enjoying herself quite a bit this year. :)

And BTW Stinker's nanny saw the dingo video.........said it looked exactly. like. our. Stinker..........

and...........passing out whilst urinating? wee wee syncope? OMG - - I used to pass out a lot but - 'twas because my BP was like - - 80 over 45  and I still feel this way, regularly.......

OMG

'tis so bloody hot

and humid

103 degrees but - humidity today - - - am sweating like a phart in a phry pan

Could it be that you are on outline mode? Find the options box at the top of this thread on the right and choose linear.

OMG.......I think this could be codespeak...........

This may be our yeti, trying to tell us that he's lost . . ..doesn't know where he is... .. . perhaps kidnapped, being held somewhere, and he cannot divulge his whereabouts....just little hints...... . .. .

On a similar note.....I once knew a woman who would cry when she went poop...some sort of uncontrollable physical response. I wonder if there's medical term for that.

To solve the mystery of the disappearing phrogs, I think I will pose this question to my wildlife biologist son the next time we speak.

So...how invasive is this knee surgery?

Sooo...what is the difference between standard and linear? Is there any? Or are they just trying to confuse us?

Ooohhhhh.....I see....linear has that annoying first post on every page of a thread.....standard does away with that.......Thank gawd....now maybe I can get the Oscar Mayer song out of my head  ........my bologna has a first name.........

Yes, it's been quite delightful. Pennsylvania usually gets our weather 1 day later. My DS lived in Pittsburgh until just recently. We're supposed to keep this weather for the rest of the week! :D

In response to your questions regarding probiotics.  I have had Celiac for 40 years.  Stomach issues: digestion, IBS to chronic constipation, bloat after eating anything.  I was unable to eat a healthy variety of foods, tried probiotics supplements - some made me worse, others made no difference.  After reading about people with Crones, IBS, etc, who made their own probiotics I started making Milk Kefir: not water Kefir. There are 10 probiotics in milk KEFIR. After 3 weeks I was able to eat more, no gas, no IBS.  If you have a computer just ask for videos on making milk Kefir. I branched out and make my own Kombucha for even more probiotics. I do not make my yogurt because there are only about four probiotics in that. I started this when I was 82 and I still make my own Kefir and Kombucha. My stomach issues were fixed with the Milk Kefir alone. If you decide to try making it, make certain you order MILK GRAINS. The finished product tastes a bit like Buttermilk. I hope this helps in your journey to good health.

Help me out here. Lauren Dam gluten-free beer from Spain is listed as gluten free. Yet its made from Barley Malt. I thought barley and any form had gluten. Anybody have any more information about it?

Ferritin levels.  And see what your hemoglobin looks like too, that will tell you if you are anemic?  You can have 'low normal' levels that will not be flagged by blood tests.  I had 'low normal' levels, my lab reading was. c12, just over what was considered normal, but I had small benign lesion on my tongue, and sometimes a sore mouth, and a consultant maxillofacial ordered an iron infusion for me as he felt my levels were too low and if he  raised them to 40, it would help.   Because you are not feeling 100% it might be worth looking at your levels, then discussing with your doctor if they are low normal.  But I stress, don't supplement iron without your levels being monitored, too much is dangerous.

Hi Katht -  I sympathize with your struggles in following a gluten-free diet and lifestyle. I found out that I had Celiac Disease a few months before I turned 70. I just turned 89 and it has taken me almost 20 years to attain a fairly normal intestinal  function. I also lost a lot of weight, down to 100 lb. down from about 140 lb. What Trents wrote you was very true for me. I am still elimination foods from my diet. One person suggested you keep a food diary and that is a good idea but it is probably best just to do an elimination diet. There are several ne and maybe one for celiacs. I used one for a while and started with plain rice and zucchini and then added back other foods to see if I reacted or not. That helped a great deal but what I did not realise that it would only very small amounts of some foods to cause inflammation in my intestine. Within the last few years I have stopped eating any trace amounts of hot peppers, corn and soy(mostly in supplements) and nuts, (the corn in Tylenol was giving me stomach aches and the nuts were causing foot pains). Starting an elimination diet with white rice is better than brown rice that has some natural toxins. In addition it is very important to drink sufficient plain water. You can find out how much to drink for your height and weight online. I do have difficulty drinking 48 ounces of water but just recently have found an electrolyte supplement that helps me stay well hydrated, Adding the water and electrolytes may reduce muscle cramps and gag spams you wrote about. . Also buy some anti-gluten enzyme capsules to take with meals. I use GliadinX advertised here. These are a lot of things to do at one time as they reflect my 20 years of experience. I hope you do what you can manage to do over time. Good luck and take care.
