OMG.. . . . . ....MUST COURIER THEM IS RIGHT!! Every......millimetre.....counts.......

I have actually printed off this ad and I have it ready to take to the counsellors when we go to pick him up on Sunday - - need to make them aware of the kinds of cheating tools available these days for the New-Naming Proceedures.. ... . ...

I must ask why they decided to use height as the deciding factor for the code names.

Why didn't they rank them by birthday months? Or nose size, in descending order? Or by the most attractive mother, followed by the next most attractive, etcetera?

:lol::lol:

Crap.......J10 must be one weeeeeeeee kid, if Jack is J3.... . ... . ..

Mornin', Psillies!

Wow, we are getting a week's stretch of oppressive heat and sun.......no rain........unbelievable. I think I've forgotten what that is like. . . .....<_<

((((((gasp))))). . .. . . . ....WELL?? Why not?? Amanda, how far ARE you from Jooooodie? I forget where your new house is... . ......close to your last place, methinks...... . ....and not that far from Jooodie's! Gah! Yes, Velcro could be dropped off on the way outta town (or even if it's NOT on the way)!

There! I've planned everything! Amanda, we all want you to be the loving new owner of our Velcro.. . . .... . .! ;)<_<B)

Got another letter from J 3 (the 3rd tallest of all the Jack-derivatives, so this is his camp moniker) ... ... . ..One of the boys snores like a jet engine throughout the night, so Jack isn't sleeping. The offender isn't close enough for Jack to kick, so there's no easy answer. I said that smothering is not prudent. He is stuffing li'l wet wads of paper in his ears, and told me he was planning to stuff same (only considerably larger) in the offending lad's mouth. I'll wait to hear... .. ..

 loved his solution

we all have to have plans..........let's see why was i up here?????? scratching my chin..........oh yes,,,,,,to read email to see if cat lady wrote back.

Good gawd....I just came in.

Seems a couple of little brats....I mean children.....tripped the fire alarm in our building during a downpour. The alarms went off and I just grabbed my purse and keys and walked down the outdoor stairs.

At first, no one knew what was going on--it was a little scary. When last I saw the culprits, they were being ripped new ones by a lady from the building and I assume being turned over to their parents.

The thing is, there are some older people here--one lady wouldn't go outside without her cat who was hiding because of all the noise. She did get him in the carrier and outside, but jeesh.

May get one more letter from Jack, today or tomorrow. He's learning to flip a kayak. This, for me, would be a heinous thing - - cannot imagine having my entire lower body encased in a boat, only my upper body free, and then capsizing. Nope... . ......'tis the stuff of nightmares..... . . . ....

Spent the first part of this morning going through the HUGE garbage bag in our kitchen, looking for DD's misplaced retainer.:angry: Seems she wraps it up in a napkin and places it beside her on the table when she eats. Fine, but she can forget to put it back in her mouth, and leave it there -- in a crumpled, wrapped-up piece of napkin. It is amazing that it is has not been thrown out before........but it did this time. There it was, at the very bottom of the full bag.:angry:

So, she really owes me.

She can do ALL of Jack's laundry when he arrives home.

Exploring statistics opens you up to a whole knew realm of really lame jokes:

A statistician's wife had twins. He was delighted. He rang the minister who was also delighted. "Bring them to church on Sunday and we'll baptize them," said the minister. "No," replied the statistician. "Baptize one. We'll keep the other as a control."

Jestgar Rising Star

One day there was a fire in a wastebasket in the office of the Dean of Sciences. In rushed a physicist, a chemist, and a statistician. The physicist immediately starts to work on how much energy would have to be removed from the fire to stop the combustion. The chemist works on which reagent would have to be added to the fire to prevent oxidation. While they are doing this, the statistician is setting fires to all the other wastebaskets in the office. "What are you doing?" the others demand.

The statistician replies, "Well, to solve the problem, you obviously need a larger sample size."

Mornin', Peeps!

OMG.....last night Will and I drove up to McDonalds for an ice cream - -Sophie was working through the dinner shift, and we wanted to get in her line and embarrass her.

We drove in and I said, "Hey! I think that's Soph at the drive-through window!"

Perfect.

We drove up to the menu order/microphone thingy, and sure enough, there is Sophie's li'l voice........"Good evening.... ..... .can I help you?"

In a thick, almost indiscernable Celtic/Scottish brogue, DH says, "I'll have me an extra large sooondae witha booonch a' sauce o'ertop".

There is silence. Then Sophie says, "Um.... ...sir, there is only one size of sundae......and which type of sauce would you like, chocolate, strawberry or caramel?"

DH: (angry, more heavily-accented voice): "I need a LARGE soooondae! The biggest one ya can put through yer winda there! And I need ALL THREE sauces, swirled aroooound in a spec-TAC-ular coooolinary display!"

We can hear other girls' muffled laughter in the background.

More silence. Then, "DAD??"

So fun. This is about as exciting as it gets in my family life.

Dd10 was tested for celiac four years ago bc two siblings were dx’d (positive labs and biopsies). Her results at the time were positive ema  and ttg (7x the UL), but a negative biopsy. We checked again three months later and her ttg was still positive (4x the UL), but ema and biopsy were negative. Doc said it was “potential celiac” and to keep eating gluten, but we were concerned about harming her growth and development while young and had her go gluten-free because we felt the labs and ema in particular were very suggestive of early celiac, despite the negative biopsies. She also had stomach aches and lethargy when eating it. We just felt it’d be better to be safe than sorry. Now, four years later, she doesn’t want to be gluten-free if she doesn’t “have to be,” so underwent a 12 week gluten challenge. She had labs done before starting and all looked great (celiac panel all negative, as expected.) Surprisingly, she experienced no noticeable symptoms when she began eating gluten again, which we felt was a positive sign. However, 12 weeks in, her labs are positive again (ttg 4x the UL and ema positive again as well). Doc says that since she feels fine and her previous two biopsies showed nothing, she can just keep eating gluten and we could maybe biopsy again in two years. I was looking up the ema test and the probability of having not just one but two false positives, and it seems ridiculously low.  Any advice? Would you biopsy again? She’s old enough at this point that I really feel I need her buy-in to keep her gluten-free, and she feels that if the doc says it’s fine, then that’s the final word — which makes me inclined to biopsy again and hope that it actually shows damage this time (not because I want her to have celiac like her sisters, but because I kind of think she already does have it, and seeing the damage now would save her more severe damage in the long run that would come from just continuing to eat gluten for a few more years before testing again.)  Our doc is great - we really like him. But we are very confused and want to protect her. One of her older sibs stopped growing and has lots of teeth problems and all that jazz from not catching the celiac disease sooner, and we don’t want to get to that point with the younger sis. fwiw- she doesn’t mind the biopsy at all. It’s at a children’s hospital and she thinks it’s kind of fun. So it’s not like that would stress her out or anything.

Thanks for the replies. I already use a gluten-free brand of buckwheat flakes I occasionally get itchy bumps. I'm still reviewing all my food products. I occasionally eat prepackaged gluten-free crackers and cookies, so I'll stop using those. I use buckwheat flakes and Doves Farm flour as a base for baking. Would you recommend eliminating those as well? It's a constant search.

Gluten free food is not fortified with vitamins and minerals as regular food is.  Vitamin deficiencies are common especially in recently diagnosed persons,  Get a 25(OH)Vitamin D blood test. And work on raising it.  The safe upper blood level is around 200 nmol/L.    "Low serum levels of 25(OH)D have been associated with increased risk of autoimmune disease onset and/or high disease activity. The role of vitamin D in autoimmune diseases   🏋️‍♂️Good job!   I find the commercial milk will give me mild stomach burn at night, while pasture/grassfed only milk does not bother me at all.  While you are healing, listen to your body.  If it hurts to eat something, eat something else.  You may be able to eat it later, or maybe it is just not good for you.  Lower your Omega 6 to 3 ratio of what you eat.  Most omega 6 fatty acids are inflammation causing.    The standard american diet omega 6:3 ratio is estimated at upward of 14:1.  Thats why fish oil works
    • Inkie
I  notice a reaction to tea bags, possibly due to gluten or other substances. Is this recognizable?
    • trents
The blood tests you had done are not the main ones. The two main ones are the "Total IGA" (to check for IGA deficiency) and the "TTG-IGA". Current guidelines for the "gluten challenge" when people have been gluten free for a significant time period are the daily consumption of at least10g of gluten (about the amount in 4-6 slices of wheat bread) for at least two weeks leading up to the day of the blood draw. That should give you some perspective.
