So I'm gonna go to work tomorrow, in the hopes that routine will be good for me. Should be a quiet day, not too demanding, and I'm going to bed soon and getting up early so there's no rush in the morning and I can get there early to fix whatever might've happened Friday. I'm already 30% better today than I was yesterday, which is maybe not great compared to normal, but I hope I will continue to get better this fast. Have a little 'coping kit' I'm bringing to work, hee hee.....

How's the head, Sheep Lady?

How's the head, Sheep Lady?

Still there, seems to be bright lights that bring it on mostly. Thankfully not a rip my head oph pain though!

Anyone want to help me tidy up my house? I have an aversion to anything remotely related to housework

I hope all the phlooies are pheeling much phiner soon! I am amazed we escaped the piggie phlu. We had close contact with phamily members with it...

We need to get a plumber to the house- sillies there is a rankest of all stanks coming from the kitchen sink and nothing makes it go away....

Amanda, is it coming from the garbage disposal?? I did this . . . Open Original Shared Link . . . and it helped mine out immensely. Only needed to do the soap one and it cleared up. Give it a try before you pay a plumber $90 just to ring the doorbell . . . actual work costs more!!!

OK . . . no silly . . . just checkin' in to say "hey". Hope you sold yer house today Judee.

I wish it was the disposal--nope it reeks in the bathroom too and we can use draino in the tub and a week later need it again...... Thanks for the info though- very handy :)

Man-daaahh...sounds like a problem with yer vent! All your plumbing vents outside to keep smell out of your house and to help it all drain out wifout causing a vaccuummmmm. Hope it's a quik and eazy fix.

Wide....tis not migrains izzit? I used to get them all of the time and couldna stand any light at all. Telehubby gets migrains....sometimes caused by brite lites. We've found a whole list of phoods that cause them for him, too. Even splenda! Am trying to get him to keep a phhud jernal, but to no avail. Don't think he wants to limit his fuud too much  . The guy wants to plan dinner while he's eating breakfast. Me....personally...don't particularly care when it comes to phood. If I'm busy with something, I don't want to interrupt it to stop to eat.

How the heck is ever'body else?

Jack got out of bed this morning, came into the office and said to me, "Mom, tablecloths were originally meant to be used as towels with which dinner guests could wipe their hands and faces after eating".

He walked toward the kitchen, then stopped, turned and added, "AND........In New York City, approximately 1,600 people are bitten by other humans every year".

Can I borrow Jack. I need some laughs today

Sounds like things are gettin a bit personal over there, Judith :P

hell no one in their right might want into my ''drawers since they are depends'' now.

Hi Bun-knee :( Are you pheeling any better today? I'm sticking wif lots of spring water, bananas, a little plain yogurt and mint tea. Mine hit with headache and upset stomach --I'm alternating between being hot and cold, too

I'm going to try chicken soup today--not makin it from sctrach--I have some Pacific broth in the cupboard.

We're in sillie sick bay

Hell didn't know patti and bunny were sick .............not fair..............hope your both better

:lol::lol:

My "cure" for any stomach ailments is to eat the hottest thing you can tolerate.

Me appetite came back so I had a hamburger (no bread) and some zucchini. I'm actually feeling better--but now Mark has it :o Same exact symptoms.

You know what helps my stomach--wine. Really

wine.........wonder if it helps the 'd'

Joodee, thinking of you and your house today. I just feel like today's the day that a love affair will blossom and you will find a buyer.

Hey, Nik Nik pooped in! Hope you're lovin every minute <> No surporse about the Amerikanner TV shows. Methingks the world has a love-hate thing going wif us (heck...most of US have a love-hate thing going wif us :P ). Would not want to live anywhere else....uh uh.

Lots of "visitors" in the Park. Our dollar really sucks right now, so it's cheaper for other countries to vacation here. I hear lots of accents and non-english people often have enough english to get by. Fun! Germanic languages, heavy british accents (NikNik...you're not really HERE vacationing and just "telling" us that you're being a Turkey....are you?) Wish I had more time to actually converse with them...could be soooo interesting.

Hope your all having a bright-shiny day today. Juuuuude......am thinking of you and still sending positive vibes for you! Things will come to pass at the right time with the right people.

even a video to watch. I didn't see it yet

so far no one seems to give a dam about the garden, birds, wildlife on property.

Guess Jim and I are alone in our love of this property.

People sure can be picky.

Have a great day everyone on

no bookings this week as kids going back to school and Labor day holiday coming up

so i'm going to just relax and enjoy it

i still want to scrap and paint 3 doors and door frames but it's for me to enjoy

Paint is on i don't react to either.

I'll have time to read and catch up on reading

thanks for sticking by me in my virtual absence.

ok all you tree huggers

here is a neat video from NWF on how easy it is to get you yard certified.

this new director on the video took over when our dear friend Craig Tuffs, i've mention on here before passed away on father's day from the same brain cancer that T Kennedy did.

We were really close to Craig and our whole garden club got their gardens certified.

it's really easy or I sure wouldn't have gotten it done

You can even do on line now......easier than what i did with photos and graphs of our property

Well. . . ........day two of my five-day sojourn as Thy Menstruating Majesty.. . ...... <_< ....and I have been walking around with my shorts unzipped due to the characteristic bloating. Both dogs have been tied out front, lying on the steps, watching the world go by. Well, you know what's coming.

Our mailman, effective today it would seem, is delivering two hours earlier 'round here. He was suddenly approaching, and the dogs began barking and howling their hellos (this is @ 7:30 am - - too early for such shenanigans). So out I rush, pants undone, me having totally forgotten this.

Our mailman hands me our stash of letters, smiles, then frowns, then nods.. . . . .... . turns and trots down the driveway.

Gawd.. . ....... ...hope he has a wife who gets bloated. I'm hoping it is an obvious thing - - "Oh, that woman has her period.....totally understandable".<_<

I brought the dogs in and THEN noticed. Crap... . . . .should have done me shorts up, ran back out and yelled, "HEY! I've got my period!! That's why my pants were undone! Y'know, in case you were wondering.....".....

With all that heat sure hope you got in some practice tanning afore ye left Nik :P We all know the British whitefair skin and how infamously it burns. Me first memory of London, too hot for Brits in early June, sailing up de Thames to Windsor Castle and all de guys took off der shirts. On de way home, MANY, MANY red sunburned mens :P , not a pretty sight.

Still it sounds like you went to Turkey to sit in bars drinking Black Russians (didn't know you had to go to Turkey for dat) :o and watching Martha Stewart. No, de only thing dat woman couldln't do was keep herself out of jail, and she even triumphed over dat--redocorated all de mess hall tables, ordered new dinner sets and candelabra, fashioned centrepieces out of toilet paper dyed with leftover broccoli and carrots...GAHHHHH!!! Hate dat woman!

Well, I'm feeling better, about 80%. I'm used to running on 80% so that's not bad. Went to work, took a nap. Now I'm eating pan fried chicken in olive oil, with garlic, lemon pepper and salt. Mmmmm..... Oddly enough, my veggie is fresh cucumuber. Nicely balances the highly peppered chicken, trying to clear out my nose. Should be better enough for more bunbuns in a day or two! I've been trying to tell myself they're good for me, since they're made with only honey and cinnamon..... not working yet....

Hey ever-body!

Em-N-Em.....I jest luuv you! YOu give great giggles! (I promise not to laugh and tell).

Juuude....Telehubby and I looked for our house for a year! We knew we'd find the right one, and since we had a year rental lease, at first there was no hurry. As time was running out we finally looked at a house that we didn't want to look at. It's not far enough out of the way. The YARD was what I was looking for in all of the many places we "visited"......as much as price, more than the house....it had to have the right yard, or at least the right potential yard. It had to be something I could work with to make my own. SO.....the house we didn't even want to look at was the one place we both loved. There was one other house we truly did love...but the yard was horrid. I've had a ball creating what we call Saffold Park, the house is perfect for us, and the neighborhood suits us fine. Closer neighbors than we want, but they are quiet and respect privacy. ANywAy...I guess I'm trying to say is that there IS someone who is meant to love your house and yard. They may not know it right now, but they will be there, and in good time.

Pah-tay....mules with thumbs......OMG!!!!! I realized after I replied that...."well, dummy, she told you why the guy was out there". Never, ever, ever, enter a fenced pasture for any reason :P

After temps in the 90's....it feels downright cold here today. I am NOT ready for fall to be here! I want more summerrrrrr <> :(

Raising you vitamin D will increase absorption of calcium automatically without supplementation of calcium.  A high PTH can be caused by low D causing poor calcium absorption; not insuffient calcium intake.  With low D your body is not absorbing calcium from your food so it steals it from your bones.  Heart has priority over bone. I've been taking 10,000 IU D3 a day since 2015.  My doctor says to continue. To fix my lactose intolerance, lots of lactobacillus from yogurts, and brine fermented pickles and saurkraut and olives.  We lose much of our ability to make lactase endogenosly with maturity but a healthy colony of lactobacillus in our gut excretes lactase in exchange for room and board. The milk protein in grass fed milk does not bother me. It tastes like the milk I grew up on.  If I drink commercial milk I get heartburn at night. Some experts estimate that 90% of us do not eat Adequite Intake of choline.  Beef and eggs are the principle source. Iodine deficiency is a growing concern.  I take 600 mcg a day of Liquid Iodine.  It and NAC have accelerated my healing all over.  Virtually blind in my right eye after starting antihypertensive medication and vision is slowly coming back.  I had to cut out starches because they drove my glucose up into the 200+ range.  I replaced them with Red Bull for the glucose intake with the vitamins, minerals and Taurine needed to process through the mitochodria Krebs Cycle to create ATP.  Went from A1c 13 down to 7.9.  Work in progress. Also take B1,B2,B3,B5,B6. Liquid Iodine, Phosphatidyl Choline, Q10, Selenium, D and DHEA.     Choline supplemented as phosphatidylcholine decreases fasting and postmethionine-loading plasma homocysteine concentrations in healthy men +

@catnapt, Wheat germ has very little gluten in it.  Gluten is  the carbohydrate storage protein, what the flour is made from, the fluffy part.  Just like with beans, there's the baby plant that will germinate  ("germ"-inate) if sprouted, and the bean part is the carbohydrate storage protein.   Wheat germ is the baby plant inside a kernel of wheat, and bran is the protective covering of the kernel.   Little to no gluten there.   Large amounts of lectins are in wheat germ and can cause digestive upsets, but not enough Gluten to provoke antibody production in the small intestines. Luckily you still have time to do a proper gluten challenge (10 grams of gluten per day for a minimum of two weeks) before your next appointment when you can be retested.

Hello, @asaT, I'm curious to know whether you are taking other B vitamins like Thiamine B1 and Niacin B3.  Malabsorption in Celiac disease affects all the water soluble B vitamins and Vitamin C.  Thiamine and Niacin are required to produce energy for all the homocysteine lowering reactions provided by Folate, Cobalamine and Pyridoxine.   Weight gain with a voracious appetite is something I experienced while malnourished.  It's symptomatic of Thiamine B1 deficiency.   Conversely, some people with thiamine deficiency lose their appetite altogether, and suffer from anorexia.  At different periods on my lifelong journey, I suffered this, too.   When the body doesn't have sufficient thiamine to turn food, especially carbohydrates, into energy (for growth and repair), the body rations what little thiamine it has available, and turns the carbs into fat, and stores it mostly in the abdomen.  Consuming a high carbohydrate diet requires additional thiamine to process the carbs into energy.  Simple carbohydrates (sugar, white rice, etc.) don't contain thiamine, so the body easily depletes its stores of Thiamine processing the carbs into fat.  The digestive system communicates with the brain to keep eating in order to consume more thiamine and other nutrients it's not absorbing.   One can have a subclinical thiamine insufficiency for years.  A twenty percent increase in dietary thiamine causes an eighty percent increase in brain function, so the symptoms can wax and wane mysteriously.  Symptoms of Thiamine insufficiency include stunted growth, chronic fatigue, and Gastrointestinal Beriberi (diarrhea, abdominal pain), heart attack, Alzheimer's, stroke, and cancer.   Thiamine improves bone turnover.  Thiamine insufficiency can also affect the thyroid.  The thyroid is important in bone metabolism.  The thyroid also influences hormones, like estrogen and progesterone, and menopause.  Vitamin D, at optimal levels, can act as a hormone and can influence the thyroid, as well as being important to bone health, and regulating the immune system.  Vitamin A is important to bone health, too, and is necessary for intestinal health, as well.   I don't do dairy because I react to Casein, the protein in dairy that resembles gluten and causes a reaction the same as if I'd been exposed to gluten, including high tTg IgA.  I found adding mineral water containing calcium and other minerals helpful in increasing my calcium intake.   Malabsorption of Celiac affects all the vitamins and minerals.  I do hope you'll talk to your doctor and dietician about supplementing all eight B vitamins and the four fat soluble vitamins because they all work together interconnectedly.

Hi Jane: You may want to try the D3 I now take. I have reactions to fillers and many additives. Sports Research, it is based in the USA and I have had no bad reactions with this brand. The D3 does have coconut oil but it is non GMO, it is Gluten free, Soy free, Soybean free and Safflower oil free.  I have a cupboard full of supplements that did not agree with me -  I just keep trying and have finally settled on Sports Research. I take NAKA Women's Multi full spectrum, and have not felt sick after taking 2 capsules per day -  it is a Canadian company. I buy both from Amazon. I wish you well in your searching, I know how discouraging it all is. Florence.

highly unlikely  NOTHING and I mean NOTHING else has ever caused me these kinds of symptoms I have no problem with dates, they are a large part of my diet In fact, I eat a very high fiber, very high vegetable and bean diet and have for many years now. It's considered a whole foods plant based or plant forward diet (I do now eat some lean ground turkey but not much) I was off dairy for years but recently had to add back plain yogurt to meet calcium needs that I am not allowed to get from supplements (I have not had any problem with the yogurt)   I eat almost no processed foods. I don't eat out. almost everything I eat, I cook myself I am going to keep a food diary but to be honest, I already know that it's wheat products and also barley that are the problem, which is why I gradually stopped eating and buying them. When I was eating them, like back in early 2024, when I was in the middle of moving and ate out (always had bread or toast or rolls or a sub or pizza) I felt terrible but at that time was so busy and exhausted that I never stopped to think it was the food. Once I was in my new place, I continued to have bread from time to time and had such horrible joint pain that I was preparing for 2 total knee replacements as well as one hip! The surgery could not go forward as I was (and still am) actively losing calcium from my bones. That problem has yet to be properly diagnosed and treated   anyway over time I realized that I felt better when I stopped eating bread. Back at least 3 yrs ago I noticed that regular pasta made me sick so I switched to brown rice pasta and even though it costs a lot more, I really like it.   so gradually I just stopped buying and eating foods with gluten. I stopped getting raisin bran when I was constipated because it made me bloated and it didn't help the constipation any more (used to be a sure bet that it would in the past)   I made cookies and brownies using beans and rolled oats and dates and tahini and I LOVE them and have zero issues eating those I eat 1 or more cans of beans per day easily can eat a pound of broccoli - no problem! Brussels sprouts the same thing.   so yeh it's bread and related foods that are clearly the problem  there is zero doubt in my mind
