Wish I had something, anything, to contribute to the pow-wow on poor Skeeter's mystery diagnosis. :( Must report, however, that I had a sudden Skeeter moment this morning when I was standing in the shower -- I looked down at my winter-pummeled body and suddenly felt quite sick.. .. . ...<_<

A Skeeter Moment: looking down whilst in shower at one's own dimply, middle-aged, ever-expanding flesh and becoming nauseated

Hope we get to the bottom of the Skeet's problems PSOON. and as Geoss said, she IS our kid too!!!!!!

Hooray, a couple of Psoozle visits; she must be feeling betta. Good to see you Suze. Now get your butt out in that lovely 50 degree brisk dog-walking weather and give the Weeze a treat. :D Find a park, take a Frisbee, and have phun, phun, phun.

Shroom, and Sills, I have been doing VERY well.......shockingly well, really, and curiously BUSY.... My new job is so amazing and my bosses, so generous (friends, really) that......I keep pinching myself? Is this REAL? and I DID take Weez for a walk on this freezing, brisk day - we are both tired! Heading to bed to watch Bright Star......forgot the poet/author it's about - is it Keats?

Shroomie's traveling - sounds exotic and PHUN! :)

Happy Mum's Day tomorrow, Nik!!

It's great havin the boy here!

So glad you get to be the mommy for yer boy!!!! Ummm......can I come recuperate at yer house when I have surgery??? Oh......wait.......Janey may not like that.... I"ll go to me own mum's.........must bring Mr. Kitteh and Weez, however. ;)

have a stomach ache - WHY??? from WHENCE??? - - that rivals all - no idea why

going to get in jack-knifed, fetal position now........

Love readin' my sills and MUST make more time for it - - am working HARD at work all day (and playign hard too - they feed me g f food and we go to dog park every aft).......must get on computer at night and keep reading - does me 'eart good!!!!!!!!!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY NICKKKK!!!!

OK my lovelies.

Discovered that my indecision in choosing a lime juice resulted in ni lime juice at all so I've added extra citronge to the margarita and it is now extra fabulous. I am halfway through one, and having consumed nothing but 6 peanutbutter cups (they were the small ones  ) since about 2 pm I find myself feeling warm and snuggly. Loquacious, but not quite to the unintelligible stage. I've truned in the last homework for my class, naught remains but the final, and the sense of relief is heavenly.

Lets see if I can compose some sort of poetry before the extra Citronge does me in.

no psillie words are in my head

i tried to rhyme, but thought instead

of all the things you are to me

a place to whine

a place to cheer

whatever comes

there is no fear

that you will see me

as any but me

I can yell

or laugh

or be sad

this is the place

where all are glad

that we are we

and good or bad

giving or taking

a circle of strength

this place is making

a psillie poem

with little lift

and yet the worst

is still a gift

I do not deserve the gentle and kind

amazing people that do not mind

my musings and ramblings, but I will take

the grace and love that friendship make

and now goodnight, for we all face the day

with troubles and joys and new games to play

and tho the tequila has made my lips numb

my fingers unsteady and my intellect dumb

I know without question that all of you

have made my smiles greater and my worries be few

Sleep in peace and take this as true

the world is better because it has you

Goodnight my loves. Accept this is my sloppy drunk "I love you all" offering.

and don't any of you ever tell anyone that I was so emotional

GOoooOood morning, Psilliest of da Psilly!

What a wunnerful thing to read first thing in the morning, amongst all the economical gloom and political corruption and the-ice-caps-are-melting fodder from the newspaper -- Jyessss's pre-inebriation Ode to Psillyville! 'Twas perfect - - found myself reciting it out loud, as not only the words but the metre and intonation are bang-on... .. .. . . . your musicality shines through, Jyessss. . ..! You need to be doing this for us regularly, anytime you begin the citronage.. . . ......um, citronella?... . ..Nope, that just keeps the mosquitos away. . . .....

Soooooze, what great news about your job. Can you tell us more about it? Is it clandestine and scary?

... . Perhaps you have spoken about it and I missed it.. . . ..... . . . not sure. . .... . .....

Whot in hell are you DOING?:rolleyes:

Gniiiickkers! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

High-dee 'ho, Psills!

'Tis the start of our March break.

So, dunno whot to do with these children sitting in front of screens everywhere I look. <_<

And, what else. .. ?....... . .. ..Ah, yes, I am hungover. Wine is the one beautiful thing that I can indulge in excessively without ANY ill effects on my celiac disease or diabetes. My brain and liver, however, are another ball game.

Had a big family gathering here last night. My mother has been talking about a fan-f*ckin'-TAS-tic old codger who has moved in down the hall from her at the retirement home. Apparently, he has a lot of money, a huge cottage in the Muskokas, he is brilliantly musical and has a razor-sharp wit.

However, he is rather ugly.

But, um. . . . . .. . . . ......after eighty, isn't everyone ugly? can one remain attractive at 88 years old?

And anyways, what in hell does it MATTER if he's not an old Robert Redford?? Mom, you're, uh, turning eighty-two - - some priorities, I would think, have to slide somewhat.. . . . . ..

I am in a delightful mood. Have yet to really start studying, but I'll review everything today so tomorrow can be focused. Plan on a good hour of weightlifting tonight, did my hour of cardio this morning :ph34r:ate about two pounds of chocolate yesterday <ahttps://www.celiac.com/uploads/emoticons/default_ph34r.png alt=''> and am feeling quite virtuous or on a huge sugar high. Planning my math classes for next quarter.....I may even do a little bit of work at work today... or go find more chocolate when I crash....

Jyesss, I admire you so much, taking serious courses whilst working full-time. I know I could never combine these two things.. . . ..would burn me RIGHT out, pronto, and I would subsequently get fired and/or would fail said courses. . . . . ...<_<

Seriously. Just tell her to take off her glasses....

There's the rub. Mom has SUPERB eyesight. Has drugstore glasses for small print, and even those she rarely needs to use. So, this man is visually clear as a bell to her, all the time. In perfect, ugly focus. I have suggested that she squint, or not look directly at him. However, she has told me that this would appear rude and/or silly, and that he would think she's a little nuts.

The interesting irony is this: he is an acclaimed pianist and has a great singing and speaking voice. My mom is hard of hearing, and has just gotten new, high-tech hearing aids. She turns them WAY up when around him, so that she can really revel in the timbre of his voice. Unfortunately, the aids start to hum and ring when cranked up, which undoubtedly make her appear silly.... . . . . what she wants to avoid. She cannot hear this distorted interference noise, as she is hard of hearing... ...hence the hearing aids... . . .which make the noise. . . . . . . ......

At least it isn't raining today. :)

The parking lot needs cleaning up.

With all the rain you've had, I'd be thinking that your parking lot would be squeaky clean, POeter!

Jack is really looking forward to may 10th, when Robert S. comes to town. . . .......:)B)

Hey all  Has anyone on here experienced any of the following on their basic metabolic panel results ? This is what mine is currently flagging : - low sodium  - nearly too low potassium - nearly too low chloride - high CO2  - low anion gap  This is now after being nearly gluten-free for over a year (although I admit I make mistakes sometimes and pay dearly for it). My TtG went down to undetectable. I was so sensitive to so many foods I am now avoiding meat dairy and don’t eat a lot of cooked food in general (raw veggies, white rice, avocados and boiled eggs are my usual go-to meal that doesn’t make me sick). But my abdomen still hurts, i have a range of other symptoms too (headaches that last for days before letting up, fatigue, joint pain, bladder pain). Anyway im hoping my urologist (that’s now the latest specialist I’ve seen on account of the bladder pain and cloudy urine after eating certain foods) will help me with this since he ordered this metabolic panel. But I’m bouncing around a lot between specialists and still not sure what’s wrong. Also went back to the GI doctor and she thought maybe the celiac is just not healed or I have something else going on in the colon and I should have that looked at too. I’m still anemic too BTW. And I’m taking sooo may vitamins daily.

I know I haven't been tested but self diagnosed that by avoiding gluten the past 7 months I feel so much better. I have followed how to eat and avoid gluten and have been good about hidden gluten in products, how to prep gluten-free and flours to use to bake gluten-free and have been very successful. It has been a learning curve but once you get the hang of it and more aware you realize how many places are gluten-free and contamination free practices etc. One thing I have read is how soy is like gluten. How would one know if soy affects you? I have eaten gluten free hershey reeses that say gluten free etc some other snacks say gluten free but contain soy and I dont get sick or soy yogurt no issues. Is there adifference in soys?

Check your multivitamin to see if it contains Thiamine Mononitrate, which is a "shelf-stable" form of thiamine that doesn't break down with exposure to light, heat, and time sitting on a shelf waiting to be sold.  Our bodies have difficulty absorbing and utilizing it.  Only 30% is absorbed and less can be utilized.   There's some question as to how well multivitamins dissolve in the digestive tract.  You can test this at home.  YouTube has instructional videos.   Talk to your nutritionist about adding a B Complex.  The B vitamins are water soluble, so any excess is easily excreted if not needed.  Consider adding additional Thiamine in the forms Benfotiamine or TTFD (tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide) or thiamine hydrochloride.   Thiamine is needed to help control electrolytes.  Without sufficient thiamine, the kidneys loose electrolytes easily resulting in low sodium and chloride.   We need extra thiamine when we're emotionally stressed, physically ill, and when we exercise regularly, are an athlete, or do physical labor outdoors, and in hot weather.  Your return to activities and athletics may have depleted your thiamine and other B vitamins to a point symptoms are appearing.   The deficiency symptoms of B vitamins overlap, and can be pretty vague, or easily written off as due to something else like being tired after a busy day.  The symptoms you listed are the same as early B vitamin deficiency symptoms, especially Thiamine.  Thiamine deficiency symptoms can appear in as little as three days.  I recognize the symptoms as those I had when I was deficient.  It can get much worse. "My symptoms are as follows: Dizziness, lightheaded, headaches (mostly sinus), jaw/neck pain, severe tinnitus, joint stiffness, fatigue, irregular heart rate, post exercise muscle fatigue and soreness, brain fog, insomnia.  Generally feeling unwell." I took a B 50 Complex twice a day and extra thiamine in the forms Benfotiamine and TTFD.  I currently take the Ex Plus supplement used in this study which shows B vitamins, especially Thiamine B 1, Riboflavin B2, Pyridoxine B 6, and B12 Cobalamine are very helpful.   A functional evaluation of anti-fatigue and exercise performance improvement following vitamin B complex supplementation in healthy humans, a randomized double-blind trial https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10542023/

I am taking a multivitamin which is pretty bolstered with B’s.  Additional Calcium, D3, Magnesium, Vit C, and Ubiquinol.  Started Creapure creatine monohydrate in June for athletic recovery and brain fog.  I have been working with a Nutritionist along side my Dr. since February.  My TTG IGA levels in January were 52.8 and my DGP IGA was >250 (I don’t know the exact number since it was so high).  All my other labs were normal except Sodium and Chloride which were low.  I have more labs coming up in Dec.  I make my own bread, and don’t eat a lot of processed gluten-free snacks.
    • knitty kitty
@Scatterbrain, What supplements are you taking? I agree that the problem may be nutritional deficiencies.  It's worth talking to a dietician or nutritionist about.   Did you get a Marsh score at your diagnosis?  Was your tTg IgA level very high?  These can indicate more intestinal damage and poorer absorption of nutrients.   Are you eating processed gluten free food stuffs?  Have you looked into the Autoimmune Protocol Diet?
