just keeps getting WEIRDER!! I just ran into my ex-step-grandmother and grandfather cuz he's in the hospital and will probably have surgery and then who should come around the corner, but my ex-stepmom who I haven't seen in like 6 years. She refused to speak to me after the divorce even though I was on her side  I don't blame her with my dad being the prick he is. I called her name and she looked at me with a mix of shock, happiness and semi-horror....I ran over and gave her a huge hug. We're all good now :P Sad that she's the only one of his mistresses I actually liked

I've been using wine--pretty darn effective in large enough doses

 Pads! sorry about yer neck/head pain........'tis a major bummer. I also do try to get myself half-knocked out w/ wine during the really bad times

Happened to me when I started doing P90X, went away when I stopped doing it and moved onto Insanity. It's OK since Shaun T is SOOOOOO much better looking looking than Tony Horton

What is the name of this phake Wen? I must phind it and try it!! How much is it??

Wait - P90X is that Shaun T guy? Very animated man whose infomercials I watch when insomniatic? he drives me nuts  Is this the workout you're doing? egads..........looks like quite a punishing one.........

The fake Wen - I don't know what it's called, you just go into Sally's and ask for it. BUT - listen up - today I used the REAL Wen and........there IS a difference. So now I'm not sure. I feel like the fake Wen makes my hair more......crispy? But who knows. It's about $12 and my hair is so fried and problematic that I don't know what to think, really. <_<

Real Wen made it silkier today......but almost slimy by late afternoon.

*sigh*

but RACHELLLL! :o I don't think anyone's family drama matches yours.....good Lord woman! 'tis amazing you have such a sense of humor and.......now I know why yer gots such a plucky spirit. But..........what horrifying drama! I can see why the wodka was needed

Had one of those "new wife" creatures in our family for awhile. Everything had to be about her or she had a fit. At least your's has the sense to realize she should hide.

*snort*

complete with pear themed dinners all over town. Blech!  Problem is the sperm pear trees are already in bloom early and may not last until then (hmmm...the parallels are striking!)

Bevel

Is Psimon home yet? Poor widdle kitty :(

and hugs to you

Yes, the smell of sperm spring is definitely in the air..........darndest thing is, now I can almost ONLY smell sperm outside

HI SILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

took a 20-mile bike ride today.....have I told youse guys I've sort of taken up cycling? speaking of vaginas tampons (OUCH).......

I"m desperate to get in shape.

Back to "Lost"....this show is gonna drive me round the bend--but I've stuck it out fer 6 seasons and there's like 4 more episodes after tonight and I've got all this time invested......oye

But I still don't understand half of what I'm watching

Lovin the iPon talk, sperm trees , crazy relatives...(my mom went through four husbands, but not that much drama . Although, #3 I didn't like from the first time I met him, then she comes home one day and says they got married <_< ......turned out to be a real a$$hat  )

Leesargh! Yes, I plan to make more regular visits. Have adjusted to new job, and am not letting my boss BOSS me as much - she keeps me hostage there! (well, we do ride bikes in the afternoon, AND go to dog park - those parts unpaid but necessary - but sometimes I'm not getting home until 8-ish!).

So glad you guys are dancing! Salsa this weekend........oye! Nutty Lady -

You know, I H-A-A-A-A-A-T-E-D my stepfather when my mom was first dating him, about 19-20 years ago, two years or so after my dad died. We were all pretty scared about this relationship - and how wacky my mom went for a while......and then they eloped. Then they got divorced. Then they eloped again. And........he has changed so much, as have I. I LOVE him now - he's grown up and found his career, at which he excels, 10 years as a realtor now - he is incredibly kind to me, my mom, and to our family. Blessing in disguise.

Forgot what else. Emmel said sumthin' funny earlier.........now I don't remember. Always love Jess's succinct one-word commentaries.

(GEOSS - WHAT is that dog chart? I MUST know at ONCE!)

Off to bed.......having a wine-free week............funny how much better I feel

Your power is awesome! Please forgive me!

The sperm tree in my front yard is in full stinky bloom. The robins like it. They always have a nest in it. Of course birds cannot smell.

Leaving this evening to join the robotics team in Atlanta for the Nationals. Afraid our poor bot will be run over but we will have fun!

Funny you should say that... Dean Kamen, the founder & god of FIRST robotics has a company that makes prosthetics. I'll see what the kids come up with. Afraid it might involve "pool noodles" & hydraulics.

Real Wen is all about the silky, smooth hair. If it was slimy by afternoon, you probably used too much. I use about 1/2 of what they recommend. I don't want crunchy curls :P

Well, Psills.. . . ...I have some news that is making me really sad. We have found out that Charlie, our big, loveable rescue that we've had since October, has heartworm. This is a horrible diagnosis - - symptoms don't appear until there are a lot of worms in the heart, and by this time the treatment is long, very expensive, and can kill the dog depending on how advanced the illness is.

It was diagnosed by the routine bloodwork that he just had done..... . .. they are sending another test to a lab in Toronto that does a more involved analysis, as there can be false positives. But my vet has told me to be prepared for the illness to be there.

Don't think I'll be doing another rescue, particularly of an older dog. We haven't had a xray or ultrasound done on his heart yet, but it looks like poor Charlie has had this disease for a while, as we realize he has some symptoms that suggest it is advanced (coughing, not a whole lot of stamina). The irresponsible, abusive people that had him before us for a few years never gave him the preventative medication. DH suspects that they may have surrendered him because THEY got the diagnosis in the fall.

Anyways, buyer beware... . ... . . ..:( :( :( Poor, poor Charlie......I am hoping, hoping for a call from my vet that says "it's okay! It was a false positive!"

I thought of everything, everything, to check out before we adopted him - - all his immunizations, neutering, etc. But heartworm testing and past meds were not mentioned, and I never thought of it.:(

So, the agonizing wait for the vet's call.. . . . ....then we likely have some agonizing decisions to make.. .. . . .... ...

Yuck. Not a great fiscal year. . . ....!

Dang......did it again and yeah I should admit I am 63 with clumsy phone thumbs. I started feeling better quickly and a doctor a year later said I had to eat  poison (gluten) every day for a month so he could formally diagnose me and NO FREAKING WAY. I couldn't then and can't imagine putting my body through that crap (no pun intended) on purpose ever again.  Why ingest poison for a month to have some doctor say Hey, All you Have To Do Is Never Eat poison Again..

15 years ago my best friend 'diagnosed' me as Celiac. Her little nephew had been formally diagnosed and her observations of me dealing with brain fog, stomach problems and other stuff had her convincing me to try going gluten free. Oh my heavens, within 3 days, no lie, I felt human again. Took me about a y

It seems like you have two choices--do a proper gluten challenge and get re-tested, or just go gluten-free because you already know that it is gluten that is causing your symptoms. In order to screen someone for celiac disease they need to be eating gluten daily, a lot of it--they usually recommend at least 2 slices of wheat bread daily for 6-8 weeks before a blood screening, and at least 2 weeks before an endoscopy (a colonoscopy is no used to diagnose celiac disease). Normally the blood panel is your first step, and if you have ANY positive results there for celiac disease the next step would be to take biopsies of your villi via an endoscopy given by a gastroenterologist.  More info on the blood tests and the gluten challenge beforehand is below: The article includes the "Mayo Clinic Protocol," which is the best overall protocol for results to be ~98% accurate. Here is more info about how to do a gluten challenge for a celiac disease blood panel, or for an endoscopy: and this recent study recommends 4-6 slices of wheat bread per day:   Not to discourage you from a formal diagnosis, but once you are diagnosed it may lead to higher life and medical insurance rates (things will be changing quickly in the USA with the ACA starting in 2026), as well as the need to disclose it on job applications. While I do think it's best to know for sure--especially because all of your first degree relatives should also get screened for it--I also want to disclose some negative possibilities around a formal diagnosis that you may want to also consider.
    • Wheatwacked
Yes.  Now, if you hit your finger with a hammer once, wouldn't you do your best not to do it again?  You have identified a direct connection between gluten and pain.  Gluten is your hammer.  Now you have to decide if you need a medical diagnosis.  Some countries have aid benefits tgat you can get if you have the diagnosis, but you must continue eating a gluten-normal diet while pursuing the diagnosis. Otherwise the only reason to continue eating gluten is social. There are over 200 symptoms that could be a result of celiac disease.. Celiac Disease and Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity  both cause multiple vitamin and mineral deficiency.  Dealing with that should help your recovery, even while eating gluten.  Phosphatidyl Choline supplements can help your gut if digesting fats is a problem,  Consider that any medications you take could be causing some of the symptoms, aside from gluten.
