Does anyone else dream about dead family members? I had a dream last night that my father and I were in Africa and that security had been told we had a bomb so we had to throw out everything in our luggage?....

Not a family member, but I dream about a dead person now and again and it's always nice to see him. :)

Actually, last night I slept better than I have in a while--my neck/shoulder didn't wake me up....anyway, I was dreaming a normal, pleasant dream--woke up for a couple minutes, and when I fell back asleep the dream resumed

YEAH!!! IT'S MONDAY!!!!! Hubby's back at work and dd's back in school!!!! I HAVE MY HOUSE BACK!!!!! I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown yesterday with everybody barking orders at me from every room in the house. Don't mean to be insensitive, but when dh is sick or down, he's like 3 kids

Me likey phoul mouth Ptaum! You's speaking my language

Maybe she'll have even better, more inappropriate, things to say. :)

That's what I was gonna say :P Actually, I was going to say it yesterday buuutttt, computer was acting up!

I'm fairly certain you wouldn't let your kids run wild through the aisles and crowd around the sample stands yelling

"MOM!! CAN WE HAVE SOME??????"

to you while you are still on the other side of the store

But what about the parents who park their carts in the middle of the freakin aisle to wait for the samples what aren't even ready yet. You can't get around them and they won't move till they've got their sample!!! I refuse to go to Costco on Sunday's. It's like the peep's have done their duty by going to church and then the go to Costco and turn EVIL!!! I actually had some lady run her cart right into my 8mo giant pregnant belly trying to get to a sample and she said NOTHING to me as I'm doubled over and she zooms past me

Quite true. Mine would text me. :P

I just spoke with her minutes ago, and she is being released this morning. I have to go do some stuphph at the store, and then will be picking her up. She should be home by noon. Thanks, everyone, for your support.

Yeah Peetah and Jacquie!!!!!

I have dreamt about them at the time they died or when they thought they were dieing. Creepy right? When oldest was 2-4 years old he used to see a "Grampa" in his room. It made him feel happy.

I love when everyone goes back to school & work. M(14) tried to tell me how many weeks of school left but I got severe stomach pains & couldn't hear. ;)

I have been at stores & actually caught children as they are falling out of carts. Parents aren't paying any attention. I see 2-3 year olds wandering off for 5 minutes & no parent or big brother folllowing. I keep an eye on them & then when either the kid or the mom notices I can point them in the right direction. I think my boys were about 12 & 9 before I would let them stay at the video section at Costco or Target & only together. I would sneak back & spy on them to make sure they were behaving OK. Must have worked. So far they are good kids - no arrests, babies, bad grades.

Well, my Dad died three years ago. Actually, the anniversary is Wednesday. Well, that explains it! Doesn't explain the airport in Africa bit....

Recently at Borders, Mark literally saved a little boy from falling down the escilator. We saw what was likely about to happen and went running over--the mom was in an aisle looking at books and hardly blinked an eye when I told her he was about to take a tumble. <_< Scared the living daylights outta me!

So I microwave my fish stew and I'm sitting in the lunch room to eat it. A woman from the other lab walks by, stops, sniffs, looks concerned and says, sceptically, fish??

Yes, I say, and start to babble about how I didn't think about the smell of microwaving fish....

She waves her hand and says -no, it's fine. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a chemical spill or something.

Know this has been discussed - but I finally tried Udi's white bread.

I am quite certain it was the best ham and cheese sandwich I've had in close to 6 years----by far. (and how has it been that long?!)

Wow. All the buzz on that bread is correct.

can not WAIT to try this bread! am askeert to have it in my house, however.......I can envision toast w/ butter and honey going on at all hours of day and night

Quite true. Mine would text me.

 *snackle*

Nope, just a thud and the bottom fell out

 whot? you okay Shroom?

Mmmm Udi's

A few months ago I was dying to finally retry something w/ yeti yeast - zero since candida "dx" in '05 & last yr bloodtest for candida antibodies was neg (well, highest of 3 meas was an 8 where 10 is "positive") - so poking around WhF saw they'd gotten the much-balleyhooed Udi's.

I was PSYCHED!!!

Before finding the Udi's, I thought I was gonna try something from WhF g f bakery but EVERY DAMN THING THEY MAKE HAS SOY FLOUR!!!!!

<ugh it takes me so long to compose #$%^& sentences these days>

:( Ptaum........still feeling perfumed/soyed, etc? This makes me sad.......SO want you to be better! Been too long.......should you just be living in a bubble by now? :(

Over a year ago, maybe 2, my microwave developed a mind of it's own......not counting down or heating up, but still running......not stopping when I want it to.........running when I DON'T want it to.......

Then it thought better of it and decided to behave.

Well now it's doin' it's own thang again!

 Um..........Leesargh.......methinks yer microwave is in cahoots wif Geoss's toaster..........PUT HER DOWN! Get a NEW ONE! (microwave) I'm sure it's emitting evil.........diodes and stuff

Bun Bun.........my dad died 22 years ago and just in the last couple of years, I am dreaming of him ALL the time. Last night, in fact, and earlier in the week........VERY bizarre scenarios.........not Africa, but - the bottom of the ocean, and houses that were being razed........all kinds of weird stuff

Hugs on three-year anniversary - wow, he must have been young :( Mine was only 56.......

I'm watching Octomom on Oprah right now. OK, my life is a bit less crazy than hers

Yeah  Although............I think she CHOSE the crazy (all them embryos)

I have a system now.

Set the time.

Shut the door.

When it starts running and I hadn't pushed START, yet (because it's not cooking OR counting down), hit the top right corner sharply. It will stop.

THEN push START.

Works every time ;)

I'm sure they sell Open Original Shared Linkas well.

hey....don't knock it! It's what Brian was instructed to use on his stump every day. :P

Also used as needed on little Lexi's bottom :)

'Morning, Pgang!

Youse all is makin' me larf... . . .. . ...still not getting enough sleep nor down time to contribute any pfunniness, but I'm still finding everyone hilarious. Methinks the Psilly thread should be broadcast through the intercoms of hospital recovery and observation areas -- professionals reading our lines, going through the posts in real time, with recap and summaries before shift-change. People would recover more quickly.....and even if they didn't, they would be larfin', and larfter ALWAYS helps.. . .. ..... .

Mom's night nurse asked me, politely, if those lines on her brow line had been made by a pen of some sort. I stared at her, then said, "A PEN of some sort?? Uh... ..... ...no. Not just ANY pen of 'SOME SORT'. Do you not recognize the effect of a classic Sharpie when you see one?"

Hi,  My 7 year daughter has complained of this in the past, which I thought were part of her glutening symptom, but more recently I have come to figure out it's part of her histamine overload symptom. This one symptom was part of her broader profile, which included irritability, extreme hunger, confusion, post-nasal drip. You might want to look up "histamine intolerance". I wish I had known of this at the time of her diagnosis, life would have been much easier.  I hope you are able to figure out.
    • lizzie42
My 5yo was diagnosed with celiac last year by being tested after his sister was diagnosed. We are very strict on the gluten-free diet, but unsure what his reactions are as he was diagnosed without many symptoms other than low ferritin.  He had a school party where his teacher made gluten-free gingerbread men. I almost said no because she made it in her kitchen but I thought it would be ok.  Next day and for a few after his behavior is awful. Hitting, rude, disrespectful. Mainly he kept saying his legs were shaking. Is this a gluten exposure symptom that anyone else gets? Also the bad behavior?
    • trents
Not necessarily. The "Gluten Free" label means not more than 20ppm of gluten in the product which is often not enough for super sensitive celiacs. You would need to be looking for "Certified Gluten Free" (GFCO endorsed) which means no more than 10ppm of gluten. Having said that, "Gluten Free" doesn't mean that there will necessarily be more gluten than "Certified Gluten" in any given batch run. It just means there could be.
    • trents
I think it is wise to seek a second opinion from a GI doc and to go on a gluten free diet in the meantime. The GI doc may look at all the evidence, including the biopsy report, and conclude you don't need anything else to reach a dx of celiac disease and so, there would be no need for a gluten challenge. But if the GI doc does want to do more testing, you can worry about the gluten challenge at that time. But between now and the time of the appointment, if your symptoms improve on a gluten free diet, that is more evidence. Just keep in mind that if a gluten challenge is called for, the bare minimum challenge length is two weeks of the daily consumption of at least 10g of gluten, which is about the amount found in 4-6 slices of wheat bread. But, I would count on giving it four weeks to be sure.
