Jacquie, tie Peter up so he can't post for a while, at least until you poor folks get out of winter. You know what happens to phluid phloods in winter - ice!! Icy sewerage??? Yukkity!

It's a possibility that the smell is coming from the drain. I've noticed that we haven't tracked in any ice or snow for a while and the garage floor (and drain) is dry . . . which hasn't happened too often this winter so that may be why the smell is coming and going. I poured a couple of glasses of water down the drain to flush it and I'll see if I notice a difference in the strength of the smell in the morning.

But riddle me this, I don't believe this drain goes to the same kind of sewer line as say a terloit. Maybe something is dead in my drain.

I will inform you of my test results tomorrow. In the mean time . . . Peter, stay away from me!!

If something died in the drain it might not get flushed out with lines farther down being partly frozen, or partly empty from other areas being frozen. More likely, I think, is that the dry air has evaporated all the water in the trap that keeps the sewer smells contained (however far down that trap is) so your garage pipe probably does connect to the main sewer pipe, and the smell-protective-traps aren't working.

This happens at my work some times, except I get barraged with nasty chemical smells. Goes away when I pour in some water.

She stuffed him into my can and is making me sit on the lid to keep him inside.

Hereabouts, any drain from within the building goes to the sanitary sewer. You don't know what somebody might let go of in the garage when nobody is looking. :ph34r:

Always make sure that the traps in all your drains have enough water. You don't want vapoUrs from down there to make their way up. :rolleyes:

Ummmmm, in case you were wondering... Even as I look outside and see a complete white-out with rapid accumulation, it's not really snowing. According to the weather channel... :rolleyes:

It still smells . . . trying to decide if it smells as strong. Maybe Skeeter or Smackl hid some of their broccoli out in the garage somewhere . . . that always stinks when it goes bad.

Let's hope it can't get across the Equator, or the International Date Line!!. I hereby proclaim these boundaries to the phluid phlood. Of course for all the Yanks, I will proclaim the Canadian boarder as another boundary. That only leaves poor Em to run for the hills!! But then, she's the reigning monarch, she can make some kind of proclamation or somethink, Yeah, Em, whatcher gonna do about this impending calamity? :o

All right, I need input as to whether or not this would qualify as phluid onslaught.... . . .you may be able to rest easy, pholks, as phluid indeed flowed here and caused a calamity, of sorts:

Last evening I heard a strange, rattling noise coming from the fridge. It got quite loud, and slowly abated (thank gawd) by the time we went to bed. Well, this morning the fridge wasn't working. I looked carefully inside, and a bag of milk that was sitting on the back of the upper shelf had been slowly leaking, and it was almost empty. It had run all down the back, into the freezer (which is on the bottom) and sat, pooling and freezing. So, the fridge had to be ripped apart by a $$$$$$$$ repairman this afternoon, and the fan and compressor chipped out of the ice milk. :angry:

Okay, so phlowing phluids happened here! Destructive, icy phluids! it's gotta count!

      @Sarah Grace,  Thank you for the update!  It's so good to hear from you!  I'm glad Thiamine, B Complex and magnesium have helped you.  Yes, it's important to take all three together.    I had to quit eating cheese and nuts a long time ago because they triggered migraines in me, too.  They are high in tyrosine, an amino acid, found also in fermented foods like sauerkraut and red wine.   I found taking Tryptophan very helpful with migraines.  Tryptophan is a precursor of serotonin and people with migraines are often low in serotonin.  (Don't take tryptophan if you're taking an SSRI.)     This recent study shows tryptophan really helps. The association between dietary tryptophan intake and migraine https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31254181/   For immediate respite from a migraine, try smiling REALLY BIG, mouth closed, tongue pressed against roof of mouth, and crinkle up your eyes like you just heard or saw the funniest thing...  This causes an endorphin release in the brain.  Usually it's the funny event, then the endorphin release and then the smile.  Smiling first makes the endorphin center think it missed something and it catches up quickly by releasing endorphins after the big crinkle eyed smile.  Must make crinkly eyes with smile or it won't work.  If you do this too frequently within a short time frame (several hours), you can deplete your endorphins, but you'll make more in a couple of hours, so no worries. Get your thyroid checked, too.  Migraines are also seen in low thyroid function (Hashimoto's or hypothyroidism).  Celiac and thyroid problems go hand in hand.   Vitamin D helps, too.  Low Vitamin D is found in migraine.   I'm so glad you're doing better.

Its exhausting and is causing depression because of non medical help. Today I saw another gastrointestinalist and he said everything im feeling doesn't add up to celiac disease since my ITg levels are normal so celiac disease is under control and it's something else. I for got I had Barrett's esophagus diagnosed in 2007 because recent doctors down played it just like my celiac disease. Im currently looking for a pcp in my area because it is affecting me personally and professionally. Im told since celiac looks under control it's IBS and I need to see a therapist to control it. Gastrointestinalist around here think only food consumption and if ITG looks normal its bit celiac disease it's something else. Is this right? This is what im being told. I want medical help but told its IBS.Im feel lost by " medical team "

Every time I think I start to see a pattern it proves not to pan out in the long run. I'm not sure it's any one thing but may, instead, be a combination of things that coalesce at certain times. It's very frustrating. The medication (sumatriptan or "Imatrix") is effective and is the only thing that will quell the pain. NSAIDs, Tylenol, even hydrocodone doesn't touch it. But they only give you 9 does of sumatriptan a month. And it doesn't help that medical science doesn't really know what causes migraines. They know some things about it but the root cause is still a mystery.
