Are you sure that she actually needs to return to the outside pen? Sounds like she's making herself at home.

Can you litter-box train a chicken?

M & Hub are going to Northern Minnesota, crossing into Canada, to go canoeing & camping. No cell phone coverage for the 5 days. They might not see anyone else the whole time.

Off to make chex mix . . . I need you all to pray for my self-control . . . I have none when it comes to chex mix and will make myself sick on it! Plus, I need for some of it to actually survive until tomorrow.

I KNEW you were coming to help me move! Your only 4 hours away. Everything's almost packed up. You'll have to share the airbed with my In-laws though.:lol:

On a good note the in-laws have decided to come the week AFTER we move instead. Yay! :D My husband was great. He called them and was VERY clear about where they would have to sleep if they got here the day before we move. He also told them we have plenty of help which was a big a factor in them changing their plans too. It turns out they feel bad because they have never helped us move before and they thought we were doing this alone. They really thought they were being helpful by coming during the move. They've never visited us while we lived in the city however and I think we made it clear that if they came AFTER the move we could relax, go to the beach have some fun, etc and it would be more like a vacation for them. The food situation is still a little stressful but I think I can deal now. MIL is still not understanding why she can't buy groceries when she gets here. I think a few more calls from hubby are going to be needed to straighten her out. Fortunately he is backing me on this 100% and is going to make sure there is no gluten or dairy brought in.

Yeah!

I feel a psychic moment coming on:

I predict Irene's in-laws will be eating out with thier darling son alot. Thus allowing the poor DIL to stay home & relax & eat her very odd food. :P

LOL! I actually have TWO places I trust to eat out: Red Robin and Five Guys. So we will take them to those places at least. Although the last time I went to Five Guys they couldn't do the lettuce wrapped burger because they only had shredded lettuce. They gave me a plain burger patty with shredded lettuce wrapped in foil. It was sort of a mess to eat, so we might skip that place. Although at least I didn't get cc'd. We also bought a grill so hopefully we can grill a lot of "normal" food.

Tomorrow is the big Cheese Day festival in my home town. Was planning to run in the 'Cheddar Challange' but I buggered up my foot yesterday and can barely walk today  We shall go to the parade and see countless log trucks, tractors, horses and pigs. The kids will fight in the streets over the label-less candy that they won't be able to eat and they we'll take them to get tatt'd up just like the rest of the folk in Toledo WA-at least theirs will be temporary...

I shall try to take a lot of pictures :P

Because the world needs to know this......

Chickies are back in pen. Chicken litter swept out of house. Spent a while watching them yesterday to make sure Mulberry wasn't going to get picked on. It's quite a bit of fun. :) Read today on Backyard Chickens about putting a bug zapper in the pen so chickies have fresh barbecue in the morning. I think I'm gonna try this.

I love the chickie updates!

I wonder if your chicks realize how lucky they are?

So my mom is in the hospital. She'll be fine. She had alot of fluid retention in her legs. She probably waited too long to tell the doc. This is a different hospital then she was in before. She is supposed to be on a low fat low sodium diet. In the previous hospital that would have meant they wouldn't give her a pack of salt. When I called to order her dinner, they told me she couldn't have some things because of her diet. All Hell will break loose when she realizes she can't have a hamburger for lunch tomorrow!

Jestgar Rising Star

ooohhh. Can you bring her a hamburger you made yourself?
