Well, this is something that has my curiosity truly peaked...Answer please, Peter:

Why, at the very bottom of the page where we are shown who is lurking or reading, is there always ONE member name underlined and in italics? The name changes frequently...are these people special? I must state that I have NEVER noticed MY name presented in such a way. Ever. What does it all mean??

I believe that the underlined person is posting. So you would never be able to see your own name underlined because it would only happen while you are posting and the names don't show up while you're on the posting page.

Kind of a conundrum I guess, or a catch 22(????) or even a Open Original Shared Link situation (this reference ought to stump them Yanks    )

Oh........one can be too young for wine?:lol:

Oh! Requests...lets see.......

Ella Fitzgerald's Black Coffee?

Jerome Kearn's All the Things You Are?:huh:

Hey...This girl likes musicals.....!!!

*snort* yes, i think middle school qualifies as too young for wine!!

hmmm... don't know those songs... looking them up... no!! that ella fitzgerald song is so sad!! well, this jerome kern one is short but sweet :)

"all the things you are" jerome kern

time and again i've longed for adventure

something to make my heart beat the faster

what did i long for? i never really knew

finding your love i've found my adventure

touching your hand, my heart beats the faster

all that i want in all of this world is you

you are the promised kiss of springtime

that makes the lonely winter seem long

you are the breathless hush of evening

that trembles on the brink of a lovely song

you are the angel glow that lights a star

the dearest things i know are what you are

some day my happy arms will hold you

and some day i'll know that moment divine

when all the things you are, are mine!

plus my song!! and yes, i absolutely love musicals!!!:D:lol:

ooh... i found lyrics for grease and the wizard of oz!! :D so now i'll put a song from each every time!!

"hopelessly devoted to you" sandy

guess mine is not the first heart broken,

my eyes are not the first to cry

i'm not the first to know

there's just no gettin' over you

hello, i'm just a fool who's willing to sit around

and wait for you

but baby can't you see, there's nothin' else

for me to do i'm hopelessly devoted to you

but now there's nowhere to hide

since you pushed my love aside

i'm not in my head

hopelessly devoted to you

hopelessly devoted to you

hopelessly devoted to you

my head is saying "fool, forget him"

my heart is saying "don't let go"

hold on to the end, that's what i intend to do

i'm hopelessly devoted to you

but now there's nowhere to hide

since you pushed my love aside

i'm not in my head

hopelessly devoted to you

hopelessly devoted to you

hopelessly devoted to you

"somewhere over the rainbow" dorothy

when all the world is a hopeless jumble

and the raindrops tumble all around

heaven opens a magic lane

when all the clouds darken up the skyway

there's a rainbow highway to be found

leading from your window pane

to a place behind the sun

just a step beyond the rain

somewhere over the rainbow way up high

there's a land that i've heard of once in a lullaby

somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue

and the dreams that you dare to dream

really do come true

some day i'll wish upon a star

and wake up where the clouds are far behind me

where troubles melt like lemon drops

away above the chimney tops

that's where you'll find me

somewhere over the rainbow blue birds fly

birds fly over the rainbow

why then, oh why can't i?

if happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow

why oh why can't i?

Hi Sillies!

I went and got my hair done this morning, I cut it shorter and put some blonde and red highlights in, I look so different. Now we need to head to Tarjay. Just popping in to say Hi to all my fellow Sillies!!!

What is everyone else doing today?

Why I think *I* hate Westerns as much as you modern musicals!!!!...they are SO..*yawn* boring

Terry LOVES 'em....we EVEN have to watch 'Bonanza' and 'High Chaperel'..............time for a nap -_-

Poor Nikkeigh. I am not a big fan of westerns either, but this one was quite good. We watched Amazing Grace this morning, crazy G is now gone, 'twas an OUTSTANDING movie.

no more implosions/explosions for me.

Bev and Carla--Carla's back and she didn't get to meet up with Bev while in NYC--scheduling problems, I think.

Hi, I've been busy since I got back, so I'm behind on this thread. :)

But I saw this. I did not get to see Bev ... she had a longer doctor's appt. than expected, so I caught an earlier flight.

The good news, Chloe was declared to be Lyme-free and she was switched over to herbs to transition off abx. I was taken off the medicine that was making me feel bad ... it was the only time I was having symptoms ... except for trouble getting up in the morning and insomnia, which I have all the time.

So, I, too, was taken off many of my abx. We added some thyroid and adrenal support, both prescription and herbal as he thinks that's my sleep problem and my trouble getting up in the morning problem. I also started an herbal protocol for the Lyme, but I'll be on it longer than Chloe. We know I have not gotten all of it because I become symptomatic when I take a drug that targets the dormant Lyme ... if it were all gone, I would not become symptomatic.

But you never get it all, so we're mainly working on building my strength back up after having been sick for so long and detoxing ... I'm still on a couple meds, too, a lot less hard core than before so I won't have to go to NY anymore. :) We'll have phone consultations now.

Wow, that was a little much for this thread, back to your silliness. :)

Erica94 Rookie

very important question!! so me and my friend are baking cupcakes tomorrow for my US history class as part of a project :D but we're not using a gluten-free mix... see the problem is that i was just diagnosed a few weeks ago, and i haven't gone back to see the doctor yet, so i don't know how sensitive i am. i heard that some really sensitive people can't even touch or breathe in gluteny stuff, so what do i do!?!:huh::wacko:

please reply soon!! she's coming at 6 and then i won't be checking the thread until at least 4 tomorrow, after the baking

Wow, Carla, you've been through a whole lot for just one person, haven't you? I admire you very much...it's tough enough keeping a marriage going and raising a couple of kids while healthy...raising six while ill must be Sisyphean to the extreme...

Ah! The little mystery, solved. So if I understand this, we can tell what others on the board are doing by looking at how their name is appearing--italicized and underlined when they are in the act of posting. What if they are in the act of peeing? Is their name in block caps? What if they are naked? Is it in bold? (It should be...) Or if they're sitting there cheating, eating gluteny chips? I bet then there is a lot of puctuation after their name. Mygawd, privacy issues galore.....!

before that, Annie and I took a long orchard walk/run. As we were walking out the gate of Stepford, we heard a man yell out Annie's name.......'twas my stepfather ("grandpa" to Annie) showing a house!! what a crackup........Annie was out of her mind to see him......and he was showing a home to some of their best friends' daughter - really lovely family - who might be my new neighbor. Very nice girl, and this is their second time viewing two available homes, so she might move in.

Annie already checked - she has a dog. :)

So here is my horrible trip to Sal's (thrift store) this evening. I was in the aisle looking at some shirts and all of sudden got the little stomach rumble....and I shrugged it off, kept browsing and then the "D" feeling hit me....I had to haul A$$ to the cashier pay for my goods and speed home to make it to the loo.....

I may attempt to return later tonight since it is open till 9. I didn't eat anything bad for me so I think I have a little bug, I have been feeling off the last few days.

Had to share with you guys, I know you'll understand.

Oh My GAWD- I go away for 3 days for my lobotomy and I return to have 13 pages to read! HELPPPPPPPPP! And Emoticon bustage!!

Well, Gus is being his normal, ridiculous self, prancing about, smiling, causing a big mess at his food bowl, but last night both cats were...different. Must be something in the air that they're sensing, the pet melancholy that we've been discussing. They were both clamboUring to get in my lap, faces in my neck. Bryce is a huge orange tabby, so this is done with absolutely NO grace or dignity... At bedtime they were both around my head, mewling and kneading my skull...and then Gus is standing there, eyes bright with wonder, tail whipping back and forth, saying, I'm sure, "What? What? What is it?!" Indeed. What was it?...

I don't know what this means but since we adopted Angus, my 20 pound male tabby has felt the need to sit on my face or Angus's in bed (he's normally quite shy) but he has a smelly bum. Angus likes it (go figure!!!!!!!!)

Judy!!!!!

What do you mean you don't have a sense of humoUr??? Well, I happen to know that you are truly funny and have a very fine--I might even say finely honed sense of hunoUr!

OMG- my dog-in-law, Gracie, had to go in for this "procedure". Need less to say, it was a tad messy and the vet tech emerged from the room, covered in "loose vowels," walking down the hall past my in-laws muttering, "I love my job, I love my job."

Have been to the dentist to be recrowned

Homonomonymic? Tom is suffering from homonomonism? It's a SERIOUS disease Tom, but rarely fatal. At least you don't have onomatopeiaism. That's much worse!!!!!!!!

Now, as to your other ideas, perhaps you could try composing a reply while naked and I'll see how your name appears at the time. You'll have to let me know when you do it, and what other things you might also be doing simultaneously.

Thank you @JulieRe so much for sharing this extra information. I'm so glad to hear you're feeling better and I hope it keeps moving in that direction. I feel I'm having so many lightbulb moments on this forum just interacting with others who have this condition. I also was diagnosed with gastric reflux maybe about 10 years ago. I was prescribed ranitidine for it several years back, which was working to reduce my gastric reflux symptoms but then the FDA took ranitidine off the shelves so I stopped taking it. I had a lot of ups and downs healthwise in and around that time (I suddenly gained 20 pounds, blood pressure went up, depression got worse, and I was diagnosed with OSA). At the time I attributed my change in symptoms to me taking on a new stressful job and didn't think much else about it. They did give me a replacement gastric reflux drug since ranitidine was off the shelves, but when I went on the CPAP for my OSA, the CPAP seemed to correct the gastric reflux problem so I haven't been on any gastric reflux drug treatment for years although I still do have to use a CPAP for my OSA. Anyway that's a long story but just to say… I always feel like I've had a sensitive stomach and had migraines my whole life (which I'm now attributing to having celiac and not knowing it) but I feel my health took a turn for much worse around 2019-2020 (and this decline started before I caught covid for the first time). So I am now wondering based on what you said, if that ranitidine i took could have contributed to the yeast overgrowth, and that the problem has just been worsening ever since. I have distinctly felt that I am dealing with something more than just stress and battling a more fundamental disease process here. I've basically been in and out of different doctor specialties for the past 5 years trying to figure out what's wrong with me. Finally being diagnosed with celiac one year ago, I thought I finally had THE answer but now as I'm still sick, I think it's one of a few answers and that maybe yeast overgrowth is another answer. For me as well, my vitamin deficiencies have persisted even after I went gluten-free (and my TTG antibody levels came down to measurably below the detectable limit on my last blood test). So this issue of not absorbing vitamins well is also something our cases have in common. I'm now working with a nutritionist and taking lots of vitamins and supplements to try and remedy that issue. I hope that you continue to see improvements in working with your naturopath on this. Keep us posted!
    • ElenaM
Hello everyone. I am Elena and am 38 years old. I suspect I have a gluten intolerance even if my celiac panel is ok. I have the following symptoms : facial flushing, Red dots not bumps în face, bloating abdominal distension, hair loss, depression anxiety even with meds and even bipolar. Fatigue extreme to the point of not being able to work. All of these after I eat gluten. Could I have non celiac gluten sensitivity? Thanks anyone else with these symptoms?
    • JulieRe
Hi Everyone,  I do appreciate your replies to my original post.   Here is where I am now in this journey.  I am currently seeing a Naturopath.  One thing I did not post before is that I take Esomeprazole for GERD.  My Naturopath believes that the decrease in the gastric acid has allowed the yeast to grow.    She has put me on some digestive enzymes.  She also put me on Zinc, Selenium, B 12, as she felt that I was not absorbing my vitamins. I am about 5 weeks into this treatment, and I am feeling better. I did not have any trouble taking the Fluconazole.

Hi @JulieRe.  I just found your post.  It seems that I am also experiencing thrush, and my doctor believes that I have fungal overgrowth in my gut, which is most likely candida.  I'm seeing my GI doctor next week, so I'm hoping she can diagnose and confirm this and then give me an antifungal treatment.  In the meantime, I have been working with a functional medicine doctor, doing a candida cleanse and taking vitamins. It's already helping to make me feel better (with some ups and downs, of course), so I do think the yeast is definitely a problem for me on top of my celiac disease and I'm hoping my GI doctor can look into this a bit further.  So, how about you?  Did the candida come back, or is it still gone following your fluconazole treatment?  Also, was it awful to take fluconazole?  I understand that taking an antifungal can cause a reaction that sometimes makes people feel sick while they're taking it.  I hope you're doing better still !
