I bought a couple boxes of these crackers. They were in the gluten free area at my Meijer's. The box even says they are Proud sponsors of the Celiac Disease Foundation. Underneath the ingredients it says produced in a facility that also makes products containing: wheat, soy, pecans, and hazelnuts. What do you think of this? A little contradicting if you ask me.

I agree with you. Appears they would love to have Celiac's purchase their products but are not dedicated enough to truly cater to us.

Which ones did you get? Are they good? They seem to have a lot of varieties. I'm getting really tired of all the crackers and such that have sesame seeds. Why does everything have to contain sesame seeds? Last week at the store I was debating between the Blue Diamond pecan thins and the Mary's Gone crackers. I got the latter, even though they were more expensive. Don't like them (sorry MG fans), way too sesame seedy.

BTW, the name always reminds me of the album "Ogdon's Nut Gone Flake" by The Small Faces. Itchycoo Park, anyone?

I got the almond ones and the hazelnut ones. They have a light taste. I tried the almond ones. It is definitely a rice cracker. I couldn't taste the almonds. It took care of my salt craving anyway.

I bake gluten free rolls in a muffin tin, then slice thin and bake....you can put seasonings on them before baking. They are good with cheese and things like that.

These are my daughter Abby's favorite cracker, the almond nut thins and the cheese nut thins. She seems to eat them without any problems. We also love Glutino crackers, they are the most like a real ritz type of cracker.

What a great idea PV. Kind of like bagel chips? These gluten-free crackers are expensive and not very good. Actually, I think it's a stretch to even call them crackers.

I think that's just a CYA statement, at least they're honest about it. Chances are 99% of companies should slap that statement on their products but don't because they don't want to appear duplicitous.

While it might seem that Blue Diamond is trying to have their gluten free cake and eat it too with the sponsoring and CYA statements, the bottom line for me is they make a tasty cracker that stands about as much chance of being CC'ed as anything I have in my kitchen after my 2 daughters have mauraded through it. Just my 2 cents. :)

I like these crackers, the cheese ones are good and I get the almond to go with cheese which is a very tasty treat. I have not ever had a reaction with them. I also do buy other products which are processed in facilities as wheat, etc. I too can get CC from my own kitchen or anywhere else. It all does come down to personal preference.

My family really enjoys the Country Ranch flavor. The Cheese flavored ones are good also. Loved by all in the family..celiacs and non celiacs.

      Hi @Atl222 As @trents points out, there could be many reasons for this biopsy result.  I am interested to know, is your gastroenterologist concerned?  Also, are your blood tests showing steady improvement over the years? I remember when I had my last biopsy, several years after diagnosis, mine came back with with raised lymphocytes but no villous damage, too! In my own case, my consultant wasn't remotely concerned - in fact, he said I might still get this result even if all I ever did was eat nothing but rice and water.   My coeliac blood tests were still steadily improving, albeit slowly, which was reassuring.

      Welcome to the celiac.com community, @Atl222! Yes, your increased lymphocytes could be in response to oats or it could possibly be cross contamination from gluten that is getting into your diet from some unexpected source but not enough to damage the villi. And I'm certain that increased lymphocytes can be caused by other things besides celiac disease or gluten/oats exposure. See attachment. But you might try eliminating oats to start with and possibly dairy for a few months and then seek another endoscopy/biopsy to see if there was a reduction in lymphocyte counts.

      This is a solid, well-reasoned approach. You’re right that “koji” by itself doesn’t indicate gluten status, and the risk really does come down to which grain is used to culture it. The fact that you directly contacted Eden Foods and received a clear statement that their koji is made from rice only, with no wheat or barley, is meaningful due diligence—especially since Eden has a long-standing reputation for transparency. While the lack of gluten labeling can understandably give pause, manufacturer confirmation like this is often what people rely on for traditionally fermented products. As always, trusting your body after trying it is reasonable, but based on the information you gathered, your conclusion makes sense.
