Do you know if your hospital has an I-Nursery?

What's an I-Nursery.

Steph,

I'm so excited for you! I was wondering about yesterday too since you had done so much work the day before.

It's a place on the hospitals website where you can go and see the baby's pictures who were born. It doesn't give last names or sometimes not even anything more than the mothers first name. It gives weight, height, and birth time. They are becoming popular.

Here is the one at the hospital I work at.

You would find the month on the left hand side and you will get a calendar and find the baby. They are a great way to share the birth with long distance family and friends.

My sisters baby was born in a different hospital, and they took a couple different pictures and one of the parents and they were on the "baby's page" on the I-nursery. It was cute.

Ok, I've heard of those.

That's neat! I thought you had to have name/password to access those sites.

Some hospitals you do, some you don't. I know our hospital doesn't require any passwords or anything. :)

Stef, so glad things are progressing for you. I thought for sure that you were having him yesterday. Hopefully you'll go today or tomorrow. I'm so excited for you!!!

About 11:30 tonight sounds good . . . that would be the day and time that I picked!

Good Luck, Stef, Keep us posted!!

Thanks for all the 'Good luck' wishes. I just lost my mucous plug like 10 minutes ago. Since I have never been pregnant, I don't know, if that was the entire plug, but it was quite a big of a chunk. Now all the early signs have happened so far. Next thing must be baby  , there is no other way anymore now. Things are rolling and it's pretty much the point of no return :P .

Um, INursery... I have no idea. There is something like a Web Nursery on the Women's Center webpage, where I'm delivering. But it doesn't seem to be connected to the actual Women's Center  . I have no idea, guys. I decided to just put the link to the hospital in here and if I go into l&d without a chance to update you in time, then it depends on, if this Web Nursery is for free or not. Cause if it's not, then I gladly wait the 48 hours until I come home. I've heard, they can be sooo expensive. Here's the link to the Women's Center in Carlisle, where I'm delivering. Maybe even some of you guys can figure this out. Sometimes I'm an internet idiot... sorry:

Stef, it appears to be free. They will likely have forms for you to fill out at the hospital. Be sure that you read all the fine print though as sometimes they try to trick you into buying your baby's first photos through them and they're generally (IMO) not worth the money. I just took a camera w/ me to the hospital and had my husband following the nurses around snapping pictures. I'm sure you'll be able to do the same thing.

Good luck tonight! I hope you get a good night's sleep before you go into labor. I have a funny feeling your wait will now be measured in hours rather than days. :) Enjoy it all!!!

Me too! I know I would be antsy waiting to move on to that next step in life, especially since this is your first.

Well, if it's not today, then it will be fairly soon. I know it's hard waiting (I went over with all three of my kids), but remember that baby will come when s/he's good and ready...this really is something worth waiting for. :)

It's funny - in our family, we like to be punctual!

My sister had both her daughters right on their due date! I had Eileen one day before and Rhiannon one day before. The boys don't count - they were nine weeks early!

I really thought she was going today--well, there's still about 3 hours left

It's gonna be soon, though. I think on the poll I said a day late...

My next doctor's appointment is at 12:10pm. Hopefully he will check me then. Let's see, if something moved from last week, when I was considered 80% effaced and not soft or dilated, until today. Maybe I'm so far along, that they will keep me right away. Wouldn't that be cool!?! On the other hand, since I apparently don't have contractions yet, I don't want to be induced, just because they keep me and want to get things going <_< . And technically, if nothing's wrong, he can stay in there about two weeks longer, what I don't really want, but you never know :( .

jerseyangel Proficient

Good luck at the doctor today--we'll be waitin to hear!

My first was 3 weeks late :o They planned to induce on Monday--he showed up on Saturday. With the first, you never know....

Guhlia Rising Star

Don't worry, Stef, they won't induce you just because you've dilated a lot. They'll let you walk around at 8 cm so long as your water hasn't broken. Maybe an exam will get things moving along for you. Also, just because you don't feel contractions doesn't mean you aren't having any. With my first I was having contractions and I had no clue. They were very surprised that I couldn't feel them.

AndreaB Contributor

I'll be waiting to hear how the appointment goes Stef. :D

Hi Jane: You may want to try the D3 I now take. I have reactions to fillers and many additives. Sports Research, it is based in the USA and I have had no bad reactions with this brand. The D3 does have coconut oil but it is non GMO, it is Gluten free, Soy free, Soybean free and Safflower oil free.  I have a cupboard full of supplements that did not agree with me -  I just keep trying and have finally settled on Sports Research. I take NAKA Women's Multi full spectrum, and have not felt sick after taking 2 capsules per day -  it is a Canadian company. I buy both from Amazon. I wish you well in your searching, I know how discouraging it all is. Florence.

highly unlikely  NOTHING and I mean NOTHING else has ever caused me these kinds of symptoms I have no problem with dates, they are a large part of my diet In fact, I eat a very high fiber, very high vegetable and bean diet and have for many years now. It's considered a whole foods plant based or plant forward diet (I do now eat some lean ground turkey but not much) I was off dairy for years but recently had to add back plain yogurt to meet calcium needs that I am not allowed to get from supplements (I have not had any problem with the yogurt)   I eat almost no processed foods. I don't eat out. almost everything I eat, I cook myself I am going to keep a food diary but to be honest, I already know that it's wheat products and also barley that are the problem, which is why I gradually stopped eating and buying them. When I was eating them, like back in early 2024, when I was in the middle of moving and ate out (always had bread or toast or rolls or a sub or pizza) I felt terrible but at that time was so busy and exhausted that I never stopped to think it was the food. Once I was in my new place, I continued to have bread from time to time and had such horrible joint pain that I was preparing for 2 total knee replacements as well as one hip! The surgery could not go forward as I was (and still am) actively losing calcium from my bones. That problem has yet to be properly diagnosed and treated   anyway over time I realized that I felt better when I stopped eating bread. Back at least 3 yrs ago I noticed that regular pasta made me sick so I switched to brown rice pasta and even though it costs a lot more, I really like it.   so gradually I just stopped buying and eating foods with gluten. I stopped getting raisin bran when I was constipated because it made me bloated and it didn't help the constipation any more (used to be a sure bet that it would in the past)   I made cookies and brownies using beans and rolled oats and dates and tahini and I LOVE them and have zero issues eating those I eat 1 or more cans of beans per day easily can eat a pound of broccoli - no problem! Brussels sprouts the same thing.   so yeh it's bread and related foods that are clearly the problem  there is zero doubt in my mind

Thank you for your post, @nanny marley It is interesting what you say about 'It's OK not to sleep'. Worrying about sleeping only makes it much harder to sleep.  One of my relatives is an insomniac and I am sure that is part of the problem.  Whereas I once had a neighbour who, if she couldn't sleep, would simply get up again, make a cup of tea, read, do a sudoku or some other small task, and then go back to bed when she felt sleepy again.  I can't think it did her any harm - she lived  well into her nineties. Last week I decided to try a Floradix Magnesium supplement which seems to be helping me to sleep better.  It is a liquid magnesium supplement, so easy to take.  It is gluten free (unlike the Floradix iron supplement).  Might be worth a try.

It could be a fructan intolerance? How do you do with dates?  https://www.dietvsdisease.org/sorry-your-gluten-sensitivity-is-actually-a-fructan-intolerance/

Thank’s for addressing the issue of mushrooms.  I was under the impression that only wild mushrooms were gluten-free.  Have been avoiding cultivated mushrooms for years. Also, the issue of smoked food was informative.  In France last year, where there is hardly any prepared take-out food that is gluten-free, I tried smoked chicken.  Major mistake!
