Yeah, I have a couple of high places I'm not quite sure how I'll get too, and no hubby to make do it, lol. I'll figure it out though.

Sorry I'll be off topic for a second--Donna, there is a paint pad you can get at Home Depot that you spread paint onto with a brush (they say to dip in in the paint, but we found if you paint it on with your brush, you have a lot more control)--you can get a pole for it there, too. It works great for going along high ceilings or even vaulted or cathedral ceilings.

Our last house had a lot of high ceilings, and this saved us a ton of time :)

Back to makeup :D

You'll know you have really crossed over to the dark side when you march into Home Depot with one of your containers of EM eyeshadow and ask the person working the paint desk to match the color. Congrats on the extreme home makeover plans. We have been inspired in the same way. We are finally doing the kitchen remodel that we have been talking about for 7 years. We are being a little adventurous with the colors, too.

Ooohhh, what a great idea, lol. I'm going to have them match one of the lavendars, lol.

I'm hoping the new special (and hopefully website) will appear by the 20th. Sooner would be great though too! LOL I think I'm going to end up getting a full-size custom kit, mini custom kit and eyeshadow kit. My foundation is quickly diminishing (but how awesome that I've only ever had to order one $5 foundation, and it's lasted this long!)

Well, the site says the 15th, and I'm hoping they stick to that because I'm getting a full-sized custom kit and my last mini eyeshadow kit plus a free sample kit, lol. Think I also still have the peach lipstick in there too.

GREAT!!! Thanks!!! This would be perfect!

Well, the purple eyeshadow idea kinda fell apart when I came across my (hitherto unused) container of Photo Album.:rolleyes: I put that across the lid, and Oasis (my new favorite ) on the lashline (I need to look up makeup eye anatomy ). I'm also wearing Jump Rope blush.

Have you guys noticed the ads for Afterglow Cosmetics all over the site?

(Wasn't there a person who came on this thread to rave about Afterglow and express her um...not so fond opinion of EM...? Interesting....) I'd actually probably try it if it weren't so dang expensive.

Okay I've been debating about whether to put Oasis in my cart. I love golds so I think I need to try it. Does it have much orange in it though?

And hmmm....Photo Album as eyeshadow. I have a lifetime supply of Photo Album so I guess I'll have to try this.

I see Carla. Hi Carla! :) Are you thinking of joining our crazy mad make-up cult?

It has a little orange in it, but it doesn't have much color at all (I was very puzzled the first time I put it on ). It's more of a sheer brown (with a slight orange tinge) with a lot of gold sparkles. I've heard it goes wonderfully with In The Garden.

Just wanted to follow -up with a cultish group of make-up buddies! I love the eye colors! I still couldn't get the concealer to work well for me-it sort of highlighted the areas I wanted to hide, so I am sure I did it wrong. Anyway, I am so glad that I got turned on to this eye color. Today I used the fine china on my lids and loved the sparkle. We are getting hit again with more snow (Wisconsin), so the mellow color seemed appropriate and pretty.

Nothing new to report today...using stuff I've used before, lol. How dull...hoping there is a new special this week so I can order again. :P I need new stuff to play with.

Okay, so maybe I'll go home and just paint color all over my face and see what happens, lol.

I really like Oasis...I may try to "foil" it one of these days, lol.

Glad you are loving your eye colors! I don't quite have ALL of them yet, but I'm pretty close, lol.

I have the best makeup story ever.

Last night as I was going upstairs I heard my sister say not-so-innocently, "No... I haven't been playing with your makeup!" Apparently she had taken and applied every single eyeshadow color I have!   And as she has no a clue how to do that... well, I was laughing so hard that I could barely breathe.

I've spent around $131.00 total, and that includes several of their brushes! Not bad considering I have not run out of one single sample size container yet. I really don't use much of this stuff at all even though I put it on full force every day!

Oh a little OT. Mango I found Kiss My Face Soap in SHOPRITE of all places! I can't believe how huuuuuuuuuuuuuge that bar of soap is. I dropped it near my foot in the shower this morning and it sounded like a brick! LOL!

I'm glad you found it! Did you get the plain olive oil one or a scented version? I love that soap! Hopefully it will work for you.

I've spent about $187  For the amount of make-up I have that's not bad though! :D

dlp252 Apprentice

I've probably spent the most, lol. I think I've spent nearly $200.

But that's about it for me. The eyeshadows will last forever, and so will most of my blushes (some of which were the same size as a regular eyeshadow container)--I ordered some brushes too. On the next order I'll be ordering full sizes of my foundation, concealor and finishing dust and the current brushes that I don't have yet and that'll be it, except for the ocassional sample size of some color I haven't tried yet.

Green12 Enthusiast

I've probably spent the least...

2 sample kits at $3.97 each and one order at $33, so a whopping running total of $40 and some change :D

I figure that makes me the more conservative member of this cult :lol:

dlp252 Apprentice

Yeah, I'm conservative in a lot of ways, but cult-like behavior is not one of them, lol.

Soft Bronzer

Fresh Air

Any thoughts are welcome and very appreciated :D:D

Soft Bronzer and Fresh Air might be similar. I've heard Fresh Air is super light. Here are some MUA Reviews:

I'm fairly pale and 'colourless' - I don't naturally blush at all - and I've never had much luck with blushers. They've generally looked artificial, clownish or a bit 'trying-too-hard' on me. For this reason most of my life I've just done without.

Got this as a sample during a recent foray into the world of MMU. I chose it because it looked interestingly pale on the website - and was initially quite mystified when I tapped it on. It looked even paler than my skintone! However when buffed on it 'darkens' slightly to a subtle golden peach tone - no shimmer. It somehow contrived to make me look healthier and softer. So I ordered a full-size - pronto. I'd recommend it to other alabaster types who don't normally get along with blushers.

When I ordered this, I thought it would be sparkly, and a wonderful option for cheekbone highlighting--like Light Pink, but I didn't read the description well enough, and it's completely matte. Dissapointment! I've tried it as a face color, and it doesn't make much of a difference, so I'm sure I'll resort to using it as a blush toner when I've overapplied a dark color.

The Fresh Air Blush is really almost like a sheer foundation. No real color at all. That being said I LOVE it to tone down my brighter blushes. I'm a PPP and if I use a bright pink or apricot blush, I just use the Fresh Air over it to tone it down to a paler version of the same color. Love it! As I do most EDM products.

This color doesn't even show up on my very pale skin--not a fan.

Soft Bronzer is very very light, but does add a subtle boost to my complexion.

I don't know if that helps

You could just order all six colors PLUS cookie sheet! :D

Thanks for the reviews Mango, what is MUA again??

dlp252 Apprentice

Well, glad you got some opinions Julie because for once I don't have one, lol!

This article does not address migraines at all.  Yes, red wine and sulfites are often mentioned in connection with migraine triggers. With me, any kind of alcoholic beverage in very modest amounts will reliably produce a migraine. Nitrous oxide generators, which are vaso dialators, also will give me migraines reliably. So, I think most of my migraines are tied to fluctuations vascular tension and blood flow to the brain. That's why the sumatriptan works so well. It is a vaso constrictor.

Excessive dietary tyrosine can cause problems.  Everything in moderation.   Sulfites can also trigger migraines. Sulfites are found in fermented, pickled and aged foods, like cheese.  Sulfites cause a high histamine release.  High histamine levels are found in migraine.  Following a low histamine diet like the low histamine Autoimmune Protocol diet, a Paleo diet, helps immensely.    Sulfites and other migraine trigger foods can cause changes in the gut microbiome.  These bad bacteria can increase the incidence of migraines, increasing histamine and inflammation leading to increased gut permeability (leaky gut), SIBO, and higher systemic inflammation.   A Ketogenic diet can reduce the incidence of migraine.  A Paleo diet like the AIP diet, that restricts carbohydrates (like from starchy vegetables) becomes a ketogenic diet.  This diet also changes the microbiome, eliminating the bad bacteria and SIBO that cause an increase in histamine, inflammation and migraine.  Fewer bad bacteria reduces inflammation, lowers migraine frequency, and improves leaky gut. Since I started following the low histamine ketogenic AIP paleo diet, I rarely get migraine.  Yes, I do eat carbs occasionally now, rice or potato, but still no migraines.  Feed your body right, feed your intestinal bacteria right, you'll feel better.  Good intestinal bacteria actually make your mental health better, too.  I had to decide to change my diet drastically in order to feel better all the time, not just to satisfy my taste buds.  I chose to eat so I would feel better all the time.  I do like dark chocolate (a migraine trigger), but now I can indulge occasionally without a migraine after.   Microbiota alterations are related to migraine food triggers and inflammatory markers in chronic migraine patients with medication overuse headache https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11546420/

Then we would need to cut out all meat and fish as they are richer sources of tyrosine than nuts and cheese. Something else about certain tyrosine rich foods must be the actual culprit.
    • Scott Adams
I agree that KAN-101 looks promising, and hope the fast track is approved. From our article below: "KAN-101 shows promise as an immune tolerance therapy aiming to retrain the immune system, potentially allowing safe gluten exposure in the future, but more clinical data is needed to confirm long-term effects."
    • Scott Adams
Thank you so much for having the courage to share this incredibly vivid and personal experience; it's a powerful reminder of how physical ailments can disrupt our fundamental sense of self. What you're describing sounds less like a purely psychological body dysmorphia and more like a distinct neurological event, likely triggered by the immense physical stress and inflammation that uncontrolled celiac disease can inflict on the entire body, including the nervous system. It makes complete sense that the specific sensory input—the pressure points of your elbows on your knees—created a temporary, distorted body map in your brain, and the fact that it ceased once you adopted a gluten-free diet is a crucial detail. Your intuition to document this is absolutely right; it's not "crazy" but rather a significant anecdotal data point that underscores the mysterious and far-reaching ways gluten can affect individuals. Your theory about sensory triggers from the feet for others is also a thoughtful insight, and sharing this story could indeed be validating for others who have had similar, unexplainable sensory disturbances, helping them feel less alone in their journey.
