Hi everyone!

I am looking for a gluten-free dog shampoo. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

couldn't you just use people shampoo? something simple, like baby shampoo maybe... I've done this with my dog, and my horse for that matter!

My vet recommended diluting baby shampoo and using that. My dog's coat is so much nicer now that I'm doing it that way. Her dander is much less and her coat is softer and shinier. Plus, she smells like a baby! :)

In general, I wouldn't. Most people shampoos are much to harsh for the skin of a dog (or cat). They remove too much oil, leaving the coat and skin overly dry. Baby shampoos are milder, and may be suitable, if diluted as Angie suggests.

I use whatever shampoo I use but I dilute it by at least 3/4 first. I just use an old bottle put in 1/4 shampoo and 3/4 water. I don't use any people shampoo straight, I find even baby shampoo straight drys out my little dogs skin.

Thanks Ladies!

We use CA Baby shampoo for all of us, so I guess I will dilute it and give it a try.

I also use baby shampoo for my puppy, but didn't know about diluting it. I'm going to go do that now. Thanks for the tip.

Baby shampoo is not good for dogs. The pH of human skin is not the same as a dogs and it will result in irritated, dry skin on your pup in the long run.

Finally! Here is one I finally got an answer from :

Still waiting on an answer from Earthbath about their "natural cleansers" and the source of their vitamin E ! They do have wheat germ and vitamin E (no source listed) in their products, so I would be very tentative about using their products. I will post their answer if I ever get one, lol!
