My faves tonight were David Cook (not such a surprise) and Carly. Andrew Lloyd Weber songs need big powerful voices and these two definitely delivered imo.

I liked Syesha, Jason, and Brooke but I wish they would have kicked it up a notch or two.

No clue who will be going home tomorrow, maybe Jason or Brooke

Totally missed last night's performance so I had to go watch them on youtube. I absolutely loved Syesha this week. Probably my favourite performance. I think Broadway is her thing. I also liked Carly this week.

I predict Jason and Brooke in the bottom three but I'm not sure who to put in there with them. I think Brooke is going home. She's already done that start and stop thing once . . . twice is pretty bad.

Guhlia Rising Star

I think its going to be Brooke tonight. Though, she is votefortheworst.com's pick, so maybe she'll stick around. I really, really, really hope Jason doesn't go home because of last night.

dlp252 Apprentice

I really liked Sayesha last night. I cringed during Jason's song because I knew the judges wouldn't like it, but I really didn't think it was quite as bad as they made it sound, lol.

Yeah, I think Brooke has lost something. She had something in the beginning that seems to be gone now and I can't put my finger on it.

I know what you mean . . . I really liked her . . . but now that the big whiners are gone, she has stepped in - not so much as whining but the pouty face thing is annoying me . . . and she was in my top three!!!

I don't even have a top three anymore. I like David Cook and the rest of them just kind of go up and down. I think the two Davids have been the most consistent. However, I'm not a David Archuleta fan and I think it's mostly his maturity level. Since he's only 17, he's allowed to be immature, I just don't care for his goofiness (I must be old!!).

I felt the same way about Jason last night, I was looking away when the judges gave their comments.

While I didn't think he had a strong enough voice to carry that song, I still thought it was good, not at all as bad as they perceived it to be though.

About Brooke, I think she has let the judging aspect of the competition mess with her head. The last what, 3 or 4 weeks she has just been totally rattled, very unsure of herself. She also started over with one of the Beetles songs. it's too bad she wasn't able to put that aside because I really do believe she could have been a contender!!!!

I don't either, have a top 3 that is. I have a top 1, David Cook. The rest for me, go up and down like you said.

I lost that loving feeling for David Archuletta several weeks ago, I mean he's a cutie and he can sing very well, but he isn't exactly an idol for my age group/demographic

I do think it will be David and David in the top two.....I can't see Syesha or Jason being there, Brooke could have been, see above

I think it's Brooke's time to go home. I liked her in the beginning, but now it seems like she lost her spark.

Yeah, that's it...the spark. Her eyes are different...it's like she is just tired of it all...kind of like she's given up or something.

Me too!

I can't predict who gets the boot, too many twists and turns. Never would I have thought Carly tonight.

Glad things went your way Angie

Guhlia Rising Star

Really I'm just glad David Cook and Jason are still there. After Daughtry got the boot last year, I'm nervous. Though, I have to admit, Cook probably wouldn't sound great singing whatever their songwriter's song will be this year just as Blake didn't last year. I think that for Cook's career it would probably be best to NOT win.

Who do you guys think the top 3 will end up being? I'm betting on Jason, David Cook, and Brooke. I'm not sure why, but I think Archuleta will go before then. Who knows though.

That's a very good point......

Meant to mention much earlier about those group numbers they do, sometimes they are really painful to watch.....Jason Castro looks like he is just miserable

Just when I have given up on predictions, I'm pulled back in :P I really think it will be the two David's (Archuletta seems to have won over the very young-young ladies) and Brooke (or possibly Syesha?)

Cheri A Contributor

I'm glad it went your way, Angie. :)

We didn't watch again this week. It's "Turn Off The Screens" week at my kids school and I didn't tivo. Really, I didn't miss it. I'm not sure if I'll keep watching or not. Just not into it now at all. Maybe I'll watch the finals.

I thought it would be Brooke.....she seemed pretty lackluster the other night...

I'm just so disinterested since Michael Johns got voted off. who cares any more?

I'm still in shock that Blake did so well last year. Did he actually WIN? I didn't really watch last season at all.....but every time I see little Blake and his beat-boxing mouth I just can't believe it.......

p.s. David Cook should win at this point.....but I just want to point something out - - his "cool" hair is really just the beginnings of a comb-over, my friends.......:lol:

LOL!!! Comb over... LOL!!!

No, Blake didn't win last year, Jordin Sparks did. (Poor Jordin). I was a BIG Blake Lewis fan and I was very glad he didn't win after they unveiled the songwriter's song. It was cheesy and weird.

Blake didn't stand a chance with that song. So, do you think they pick the song to showcase the singer that they (American Idol producers) want to win. I know it's suppose to be voted on . . . but how easy would that be to "fix".

Didn't somebody call it 'spit-boxing' at the beginning of the thread? He was so annoying.... The only interesting thing he did was with Bon Jovi.

I felt the same way last year when Melinda was voted off in favor of that little twit Blake. Hello? Has everyone in America had their good taste ripped bodily away? WHAT is so appealing about that guy? I did like Jordin though, she's a good singer.

Green12 Enthusiast

I don't understand some of the song selections for Neil Diamond night

David Cook again imo rose to the ocasion, David Archuleta was a close second for me.

I think Brooke, Jason Castro (sorry Angie :o ), and Syesha are on the chopping block tomorrow night.

Guhlia Rising Star

I think you're right. I definitely think Jason is in trouble after last night (though I have to admit I loved his second song minus the pitchiness in a few spots). Cook BROUGHT IT! Anyone know what the AC on his guitar and jacket stood for? I'm getting more and more annoyed by Archuleta and I'm not sure why. He just irks me now. Maybe its hormonal. lol. Talk about bombing... Brooke was really bad in her first song last night!

dlp252 Apprentice

Yeah, I think I've lost interest, lol! I did watch part of Jason's first song...but,

I've been watching the most weird shows you can imagine, lol. An episode of Ultimate Coyote Search that I've seen 4 times already was on and well, that won over AI.

At this point though, I think they all have their good points and all have their bad points, so I'll just wait until it's narrowed down to the final three or so. :P

I believe the AC on his guitar stands for Adam Cook, his brother who has cancer. There was a small article in People magazine about it. I SO love David Cook, I thought he was great last night. I am usually a big Brooke fan, but I couldn't even finish watching her sing that first song. It was terrible, but the second time around she did better. I don't think she'll last much longer though.

I've lost interest too, I wasn't paying 100% attention to last night's show. It was more like background music and if one of them was sounding good then i would look up and watch <_<

The thing David Cook has done all season is take the songs and put his own spin on them, making them different and current. Even if he doesn't win I think he will be succesful.

I didn't notice the AC on his guitar and clothes, that's neat he honors his brother.

Oh Brooke, I don't know what has happened to her. I'm A Believer was almost painful to watch :(

Green12 Enthusiast

I didn't even watch last night, but I saw on my home page that Brooke was the one to go.

I'd go with a vodka tonic, but that's just me😉

That and my nutritionist also said that drinking cider is one of the worst drink choices for me, given that I have candida overgrowth.  She said the combination of the alcohol and sugar would be very likely to worsen my candida problem.  She suggested that if I drink, I go for clear vodka, either neat or with a splash of cranberry.   So in summary, I am giving ciders a rest.  Whether it's a gluten risk or sugars and yeast overgrowth, its just not worth it.

While plain, pure tea leaves (black, green, or white) are naturally gluten-free, the issue often lies not with the tea itself but with other ingredients or processing. Many flavored teas use barley malt or other gluten-containing grains as a flavoring agent, which would be clearly listed on the ingredient label. Cross-contamination is another possibility, either in the facility where the tea is processed or, surprisingly, from the tea bag material itself—some tea bags are sealed with a wheat-based glue. Furthermore, it's important to consider that your reaction could be to other substances in tea, such as high levels of tannins, which can be hard on the stomach, or to natural histamines or other compounds that can cause a non-celiac immune response. The best way to investigate is to carefully read labels for hidden ingredients, try switching to a certified gluten-free tea brand that uses whole leaf or pyramid-style bags, and see if the reaction persists.

This is a challenging and confusing situation. The combination of a positive EMA—which is a highly specific marker rarely yielding false positives—alongside strongly elevated TTG on two separate occasions, years apart, is profoundly suggestive of celiac disease, even in the absence of biopsy damage. This pattern strongly aligns with what is known as "potential celiac disease," where the immune system is clearly activated, but intestinal damage has not yet become visible under the microscope. Your concern about the long-term risk of continued gluten consumption is valid, especially given your family's experience with the consequences of delayed diagnosis. Since your daughter is now at an age where her buy-in is essential for a gluten-free lifestyle, obtaining a definitive answer is crucial for her long-term adherence and health. Given that she is asymptomatic yet serologically positive, a third biopsy now, after a proper 12-week challenge, offers the best chance to capture any microscopic damage that may have developed, providing the concrete evidence needed to justify the dietary change. This isn't about wanting her to have celiac; it's about wanting to prevent the insidious damage that can occur while waiting for symptoms to appear, and ultimately giving her the unambiguous "why" she needs to accept and commit to the necessary treatment. This article might be helpful. It breaks down each type of test, and what a positive results means in terms of the probability that you might have celiac disease. One test that always needs to be done is the IgA Levels/Deficiency Test (often called "Total IGA") because some people are naturally IGA deficient, and if this is the case, then certain blood tests for celiac disease might be false-negative, and other types of tests need to be done to make an accurate diagnosis. The article includes the "Mayo Clinic Protocol," which is the best overall protocol for results to be ~98% accurate.
