bottom line, Martha is probably just testing the waters to see if a "Martha Stewart cooks gluten free" cookbook would be a runaway best seller. Wonder how long till it comes out

you were right all along.........who cares right :P .........if we get a magazine of quality out of that radio show. We'd better go on the 'down low' and keep our sweet little mouths shut about this old mess........................and just keeping voting our hearts out.

This is what I sent out to my email buddies to ask them to vote pro food intolerance issue:

RE: Help & Vote (Non Political) - Health Issue

Open Original Shared Link

To my email buddies: All of you know that I rarely send out "mass" emails or jokes or stuff like that. I get them, read them and sometimes pass them along, but that's rare for me.

Today's email is to ask you to go into the Martha Stewart magazine site and vote on behalf of me and my husband that her magazine should add more information about food allergies and food intolerances.

As many of you know, Mike has been suffering with this for many, many years and I can attest there's just not enough information or publications out there about it. The General Public is so in the dark about Celiac Disease.

So your help in voting on this would be most appreciated by all celiacs like Mike. Perhaps if there was more publications about food intolerances, more restaurants and food manufacturers would be more agreeable to make their products "gluten free." And as a result there would be more food choices and restaurants for celiacs like Mike to go to - and the further result would be that we could finally take a vacation after so many years as restaurants would be more aware of food intolerances and be able to handle providing "gluten free" meals.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and making a "vote."

I know lisa..

Patti and I were wondering the same thing?

It sure doesn't look like the lady on the Oprah show on fertility. She looked alot older I thought.

We just need to keep voting every day until it ends.

Does anyone know when that is?

Voting ends Feb. 7. I'm not sure voting bazillions of times is such a good idea. They may go through before making a final decision and eliminate all the votes (beyond the one allowed) from duplicate ip addresses. We wouldn't want to damage our credibility by being accused of "stuffing the ballot box!" :o

cruelshoes Enthusiast

Pets is beating us by 2% folks. Keep voting and ask your friends and family to do the same!

confusedks Enthusiast

Uh oh! We're tied 37-37% with pet lovers! Ahhhh! VOTE PEOPLE, VOTE! :D

Judyin Philly Enthusiast

I did a google search and I do not think this Alexis is Martha's daughter.

Found another web site promoting this contest and it list this person as Alexis Radogost-Givens

and Givens was listed in the credits under her presentation on the video link.

I love our pets and want them well feed too.............but...............if we don't get well and are 'brain fogged' who will feed our precious little pets.

I have been voting on different polls at differnt sites............so hope it's not considered 'stuffing' by c.com

EDIT------- JUST CHECKED AND IT'S A TIE AT 37% PETS AND US. :D:D

Okay that is really good to know. So with that being positive and the other being high it makes sense she diagnosed her even without the endoscopy. So glad we caught it early. She had so many symptoms though that to me it was clear something was wrong.   yeah I think we had better test us and the other kids as well.
    • GlorietaKaro
One doctor suggested it, but then seemed irritated when I asked follow-up questions. Oh well—
    • trents
@GlorietaKaro, your respiratory reactions to gluten make me wonder if there might also be an allergic (anaphylaxis) component at work here.
    • GlorietaKaro
Thanks to both of you for your responses!  Sadly, even after several years of very strict gluten avoidance, I remember the symptoms well enough that I am too frightened to risk a gluten challenge— heartbeat and breathing problems are scary— Scott, thank you for the specific information— I will call around in the new year to see if I can find anyone. In the meantime, I will carry on has I have been— it’s working! Thanks also for the validation— sometimes I just feel crushed by disbelief. Not enough to make me eat gluten though—

Welcome to the celiac.com community, @GlorietaKaro! As Scott indicated, without formal testing for celiac disease, which would require you to have been consuming generous amounts of gluten daily for weeks, it would be not be possible to distinguish whether you have celiac disease or NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity). Their symptoms overlap. The difference being that celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder that damages the lining of the small bowel. We actually no more about celiac disease than we do about NCGS, the mechanism of the latter being more difficult to classify. There are specific antibody tests for celiac disease diagnosis and there is also the endoscopy/biopsy of the small bowel lining. Currently, there are no tests to diagnose NCGS. Celiac disease must first ruled out. Researchers are working on developing testing methods to diagnose celiac disease that do not require a "gluten challenge" which is just out of the question for so many because it poses serious, even life-threatening, health risks. But we aren't there yet.
