Thanks - I'll check into it. My hotel room has a full kitchen, but what makes it a vacation if I have to cook all of the time!

Babycakes! - Gluten-free bakery on the Lower East Side. www.babycakesnyc.com. It's a cute little place with a lot of great options, and it's sugar-free and vegan as well (I promise, they still taste great). I think you take the F train to Delancey Street and walk down to Broome Street, but I would look up their address and look up the subway directions on Hopstop (see below) to be safe.

Risotteria is my favorite restaurant, and you can also check out www.glutenfreerestaurants.org for a list of GFRAP-associated restaurants in New York City. There's also Mozzarelli's on 23rd street between Park & Madison for amazing gluten free pizza by the slice, but they're only open weekdays, and S'Mac in the east village (east 12th street between 1st and 2nd avenues) for great gluten-free mac and cheese.

Check out the celiac chicks . com (one word No spaces) They live in NY and are always reviewing places.

I've posted a ton of stuff on the restaurant thread. Just search for NYC restaurants.

Not previously in any of my restaurant reccomendations is a new restaurant with gluten free mac n' cheese.

The info is:

S'Mac

345 East 12th Street, NY, NY 10003

212-358-7912, 212-358-7917

I haven't tried it yet, but I've heard rave reviews and I know they take great measures to avoid any possibility of cross contamination.

You might want to call Bistango and see if they are open. This is one of my favorites, but I think they are closed for renovations.

Bistango is an amazing Italian Restaurant!!!! If my memory serves me, it is at 28th and 3rd... gluten-free bread, pasta and anything on the menu can be made gluten-free. Excellent service and very safe...

another blog with a list of restaurants that deal well with food restrictions: Open Original Shared Link. she is not celiac but is gluten-free (plus a lot of other 'frees'). List is down the right hand side of the screen, click through for reviews & location info.

another NYC list at Open Original Shared Link (scroll down for full list, the frame makes it look short but it isn't)

most 'high end' restaurants in NYC can handle gluten-free pretty well in my experience.

happy eating!

"Conclusions: The urinary iodine level was significantly lower in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis, and iodine replacement may be important in preventing osteoporosis"  Body iodine status in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis Low iodine can cause thyroid problems, but Iodine deficiency will not show up in thyroid tests.  Iodine is important for healing, its job is to kill off defective and aging cells (Apoptosis). Skin, brain fog, nails, muscle tone all inproved when I started taking 600 mcg (RDA 150 - 1000 mcg) of Liquid Iodine drops. Some with dermatitis herpetiformis, Iodine exacerbates the rash.  I started at 1 drop (50 mcg) and worked up to 12 drops, but I don't have dermatitis herpetiformis.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I found myself giggling with happiness as I read how your body reached such spring! And I hope that your current journey is also successful!! Definitely starting the food diary! So many amazing advices. And it’s very scary. It really hits all our soft spots as well as our confidence system. Most doctors I went thought I was underage despite being in my late 20s. Right now I look like am I twelve, but is also this body that’s taking so much, so I might as well love it too! Going to make the necessary changes and stay in this path. Thank you again! 🫶

Thank you so much for the information and kind message! Reading this transformed how I’ve been viewing my efforts and progress. Guess there’s still a lot to celebrate and also heal 😌  Yes, I’ve been taking it! Just recently started taking a multivitamin supplement and separated vitamin D! I also took chewable Iron polymaltose for ferritin deficiency 2 months ago but was unable to absorb any of it.  Thank you again! Hearing such gentle words from the community makes my body and heart more patient and excited for the future.
