I don't know Carrie, I right clicked on the picture and it said several options but one was set as desktop background? I am just lost on it.

Right click on the picture icon (in the window/file) and scroll down until it says copy, click on copy, close (X) the window you are in and then right click anywhere on your desktop, and scroll down until you see paste. This should work :) but let me know if there are any problems

Hi - Im trying to change my avitar pic -

It tells me it uploaded my new pic, but now shows my old pic still but with the dimensions of the new pic (my old pic is now stretched wider...), but it doesn't show the new pic...

Is a moderator reviewing the new pic...and in the meantime I now look fat? ;-)

I think this is happening, because the last time I tried to change it, it didn't change right away...but said it did...when I came back on, it had changed!

It's very confusing....perhaps the admin can add info to the avitar change section to tell members what to expect?

that's weird. mine changed immediately. there must be an issue, i'm sure someone can speak to that. and if i'm looking at the old one still--you look dang skinny! not fat at all! :D

VydorScope Proficient

No, theres no issue, its your broswer at fualt. I see this alot on my board. After you change your avatar, hold down SHIFT then refresh the page. It should update right then.

KaitiUSA Enthusiast

I see your new one. and you are not even near fat...that should not be in your vocabulary.

They usually change immediately. Mine changed immediately when I did. You may want to hit refresh on your comp though.

Kaiti the FAT look she sees is cause the she sitll sees the OLD image, but with the NEW images dimensoins... so its STRETCHED out. This is a very comon problem with IPB software. It is easly fixed with the refresh method I mentioned.

Is it because I was away I can't see the display of my avatar or is it because I'm in an internet cafe?

I see most of yours today but didn't see any when I was last in?

Do any avatars get used twice concurrently?

Does one have to have one?

Can one search on avatars or no avatar?

Best wishes

KaitiUSA Enthusiast

I can't see your avatar either.

The site was updted and since then some of the avatars can't be seen.

You do not have to have one.

Guest Viola

I'm pretty sure it is because you are on a different computer. I didn't see mine when I logged in from my Dad's computer.

celiac3270 Collaborator

I see an avatar of a stick figure man holding a hammer--in gray w/ a white background. Oh, and the guy's torso is covered in gray spots--kinda like chicken pox, lol.

Technically, no, you can't have 2 at once, but with some people, it may take awhile for your new one to show up, in which case people could be seeing older versions of your avatar for some time.

You do not need to have an avatar.

Not really sure what you mean about the last question. You can search for avatars, you can choose not to have an avatar, etc.

KaitiUSA Enthusiast

Yep, I see one now too...did you just get a new one?

Guest BellyTimber

Yes, I figured as someone else now uses "my old" one maybe I should get a new one?

I'm not sure whether I identify very strongly with the grey, spotty "hammer man" though ...

Guest BellyTimber

Shall I "get rid of" the silly grey hammer man?

Can several people use the same avatar concurrently?

Yes, I believe more than 1 person can have the same one

celiac3270 Collaborator

Of course! It's just that you see that mainly with avatars from the gallery--the chances of someone else deciding to use your hammer man are very slim, but it would be allowed and possible.

Guest BellyTimber

Just had another look... maybe it is someone or something hammering him down...

:o

celiac3270 Collaborator

Could be, but I still think that he's holding the hammer, but the stick figure wasn't very carefully drawn, so they look separated. Unless the hammer is falling from the sky...? :D

So I tried to change my avatar, and put up a pic of me and my bf and all it did was squish the one I had and make it look weird.

What gives?

@Scatterbrain, Thiamine Vitamin B1 and amino acid Taurine work together.  Our bodies can make Taurine from meats consumed.  Our bodies cannot make Thiamine and must consume thiamine from food.  Meat is the best source of B vitamins like Thiamine.   Vegetarians may not make sufficient taurine since they don't eat meat sources of taurine.  Seaweed is the best vegetarian source of taurine. Vegetarians may not consume sufficient Thiamine since few veggies are good sources.  Whole grains, legumes, and nuts and seeds contain thiamine.  Many of these sources can be hard to digest and absorb for people with Celiac disease.   You may find taking the forms of thiamine called Benfotiamine or TTFD (tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide) and a B Complex will give the benefits you're looking for better than taurine alone.

@Jmartes71, I went to Doterra's site and had a look around.  The Doterra TerraZyme supplement really jumped out at me.  Since we, as Celiacs, often have digestive problems, I looked at the ingredients.  The majority of the enzymes in this supplement are made using black mold, Aspergillus!  Other enzymes are made by yeast Saccharomyces!  Considering the fact that Celiac often have permeable intestines (leaky gut syndrome), I would be very hesitant to take a product like this.  Although there may not be live black mold or yeast in the product, the enzymes may still cause an immune system response which would definitely cause inflammation throughout the body.   Skin, eyes, and intestines are all made from the same basic type of cells.  Your skin on the outside and eyes can reflect how irritated the intestines are on the inside.  Our skin, eyes, and intestines all need the same vitamins and nutrients to be healthy:  Vitamin A, Niacin B3 and Tryptophan, Riboflavin B2, Biotin B7, Vitamin C, and Omega Threes.  Remember that the eight B vitamins work together.  Just taking high doses of just one, vitamin like B12, can cause a deficiency in the others.  Taking high doses of B12 can mask a Folate B9 deficiency.  If you take B12, please take a B Complex, too.  Thiamine B1 can be taken in high doses safely without toxicity.  Thiamine is needed by itself to produce energy so every cell in the body can function, but Thiamine also works with the other B vitamins to make life sustaining enzymes and digestive enzymes.  Deficiencies in either Niacin, Vitamin C, or Thiamine can cause digestive problems resulting in Pellagra, Scurvy, and Gastrointestinal Beriberi.   If you change your diet, you will change your intestinal microbiome.  Following the Autoimmune Protocol Diet, a Paleo diet, will starve out SIBO bacteria.  Thiamine keeps bacteria in check so they don't get out of control as in SIBO.  Thiamine also keeps MOLDS and Yeasts from overgrowth.   Menopause symptoms and menstrual irregularities are symptomatic of low Vitamin D.   Doctors are not as knowledgeable about malnutrition as we need them to be.  A nutritionist or dietician would be more helpful.   Take control of your diet and nutrition.  Quit looking for a pill that's going to make you feel better overnight.  The Celiac journey is a marathon, not a sprint.   "Let food be your medicine, and let medicine be your food."

The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.

I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

Anyone experimented with Taurine supplementation either via electrolyte powders or otherwise? Thanks
