Chex - Gluten Free

Has anyone else noticed that some varieties of Chex cereal are labeled gluten free??? This is the first I'm seeing of it, but then again, I went to a much bigger grocery store today than the one I usually visit.

Has anyone reacted to these anyway? Anybody try them and like them? Thanks!

I eat them every day and have no problem. The Honey Nut ones are amazing!

I use them all the time. Chexpartymix.com has loads of gluten free recipes, too!

i'm addicted to them. One of the few starchy things i can eat that helps my indigestion.

I like to eat the cinnamon Rice Chex out of the box as a snack. :)

My son eats them and likes them, but for some reason the honey ones made his belly hurt a little bit. I had him try them again and the same thing happened. Other ones have been fine though.

I love them! the cinnamon is my favorite as cereal (with milk- if you eat dairy). I like the cinnamon, plain, or chocolate dry (for a snack to keep with me if i'm not near "safe" gluten-free food).

Nor-TX Enthusiast

I have made up a delicious munchy mixture. I take 1/2 cup rice chex and 1/2 cup of corn chex and mix them in a soup bowl. I spray on some butter flavor Pam and quickly sprinkle with salt and a little sugar. Mix them up again and spray and sprinkle one more time. They are a great substitution for sweet and salty snacks and only about 115 calories. I don't use much salt or sugar... just to give them a taste. I am addicted to them. There are $1.00 chex coupons out this week too! :D

I've met a few people who've said the same thing. The other flavors of Chex were fine for them, but the Honey Nut ones gave them gastro issues for some reason.

I agree with @trents, could be worth having another scope. Oddly enough I'm in the same boat except my current odd sensation is near my appendix, I think I'll request a colonoscopy for peace of mind.

Yes, take this up with your GI doc during the next visit. It might be a good idea to get an upper GI scoping done if you haven't had one done since diagnosis.

I will be doing in the new year. I had a thought that it might be Diverticulitis but I have no other symptoms related to that.

Have you mentioned it to your gastroenterologist?
