What Do You Buy From Costco, Sams?

I don't have a membership currently to either. I used to have one to Costco but decided I was wasting too much time (the place is a madhouse) and money. I know they sell gluten free crackers for good prices in bulk. I'm considering re-joining because I also want to increase my fruits and veggies and their quality was always very good. What other gluten free items are sold at Costco or Sams? Which one has a better selection?

I don't know about Sam's, but at Costco I get butter, chicken, veggies of one sort or another, eggs, and a couple of years ago I got the computer monitor I'm using right now through costco.com for a good price! I recently got a big box of Mary's gone crackers since it had a coupon, but I still haven't tried them yet. It may end up being one of the few items with soy I'll eat on occasion. The price for that large box (after $2 off) was actually less than the price for a small box at a natural foods store I go to. Oh yeah, I also get the extra light olive oil I use for mayo at Costco.

I used to get their hamburg, but I started reacting to beef so for now I don't get it. They also have lara bars available. They also have a good cheese selection, if you can eat that. I'm hoping I can soon.

Try the Kirklands pulled pork at costco, tasty. I also like to get a few bags of (kirkland) mission chips which are cheap and are great to munch on between meals.

Rotisserie Chicken at Sam's Club is NOT gluten free....FYI

Adalaide Mentor

My MILK brought a rotisserie chicken home from Costco last week that was gluten free. It's little simple things that make me happy. She also brought home some maple sunrise cereal that is delicious. It's a nice crunchy breakfast that's good with some fresh or dried fruit added. (I want to say the brand is Nature's something or other, I don't feel like trekking up the stairs to the kitchen to check.) I don't have my own membership but will probably get one soon since she seems to find so many things to bring home.

Samsclub chicken is gluten free. It says so right on the package and we have NEVER had any reaction to it. We buy a lot of products (most listed above) from both places. I would say Costco has more Gluten Free options available. Ours now carry gluten-free waffles also.

I was referring to the pre-cooked Rotisserie, Whole Chicken, that contains wheat on the label.

Totally forgot about them, but was super excited when I read the package in January. Costco has chicken cranberry jalapeno meatballs that are gluten free. I pop open a can of cranberry sauce (jellied or whole berry, whatever flips my fancy that day) and throw it in a pan with good measure of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce and some brown sugar. So good on rice, and I don't think they're spicy at all.

We buy Rudi's gluten-free bread at Costco! 2 packages for $7.89--we buy 8 loaves at a time! (4 of us gluten-free in this family!)

kareng Grand Master

We go to Costco. I have noticed that different Costco's have different items. 2 years ago, we went to the one in Reno & they had almond flour and a couple of others I can't remember now. Not at our Costco in Kansas. Some people have gotten a gluten-free tortellini or ravioli but I look every time.....

I do get my favorite Crunchmasters crackers. When Costco was out, my neighbor let me use her SAMs to get some I needed for a party.

I am in Canada, so we just have Costco.

Amy's Organic Lentil and Lentil Vegetable Soup

Pacific Organic Tomato and Roasted Red Pepper & Tomato Soup

Kirkland gluten-free citrus body wash

Kirkland gluten-free shampoo/conditioner set in pump bottles

Quinoa

Seeds of Change microwave packets of quinoa and brown rice (seasoned)

Canned tomato products

Soy milk

Veggie Patties (found in refrigerated section near meats, they are vegan and gluten-free)

GardenLites Veggie Muffins

Freeze dried fruit (in snack section)

Mary's Gone Crackers

Crunchmaster Crackers

Fruit/veggies

Tofu

Sam's:

Crunchmaster Crackers

Larabar Uber bars

Fruit/veggies

Adalaide Mentor

Essential Baking Company bread

Kirkland organic chicken stock

I've been known to pick up meatballs and warm chickens on occasion.

I get frozen veggies and fruits and chicken breasts.

My husband stocks up on Trio bars there, they also have Lara bars but he isn't the fan I was before I had to give them up. (can't have dates, they're perfectly safe for us)

Fruit leather (I don't remember the brand but it is awesome!)

Crunchmaster Crackers

They have rice at my local Costco that is all non-gmo and blah blah blah super health stuff all over the package but I forget the brand. Starts with an L or something. I have enough rice in my storage to feed a small army though so I'm not buying any at the moment.

I don't buy, but did at one point confirm with them that Kirkland brand rice milk is actually gluten free (not processed with barley like a certain brand) and is very reasonably priced. But since I am drinking cow milk these days I'm not going to spend money on rice milk. As always, double check these sorts of things yourself before purchasing as it has been quite some time since I attempted to be dairy free. (yeah... screw that)

We love to shop at Costco... it makes my gluten-free 3 yr old very happy that they always, always have gluten-free samples.  Seriously... for every gluten sample they have, there is another nearby booth with a gluten-free sample!

They need this at Sam's club! I only go there for the samples lol. I'm not eating gluten free yet, but this post should come in handy soon :)

Is there a digestive enzyme that helps build a healthier gut? I see people taking them but not sure what really works
    • trents
So the tTG-IGA at 28 is positive for celiac disease. There are some other medical conditions that can cause elevated tTG-IGA but this is unlikely. There are some people for whom the dairy protein casein can cause this but by far the most likely cause is celiac disease. Especially when your small bowel lining is "scalloped". Your Serum IGA 01 (aka, "total IGA") at 245 mg/dl is within normal range, indicating you are not IGA deficient. But I also think it would be wise to take your doctor's advice about the sucraid diet and avoiding dairy . . . at least until you experience healing and your gut has had a chance to heal, which can take around two years. After that, you can experiment with adding dairy back in and monitor symptoms. By the way, if you want the protein afforded by dairy but need to avoid casein, you can do so with whey protein powder. Whey is the other major protein in dairy.

hi, i want to say thank you to you and @trents   . after 2 phone calls to my GI, her office called me back to tell me that a blood test was “unnecessary” and that we should “follow the gold standard” and since my biopsy did not indicate celiac, to follow the no dairy and sucraid diet. i luckily have expendable income and made an appt for the labcorp blood test that day. i just got my results back and it indicates celiac disease i think 😭   im honestly happy bc now i KNOW and i can go gluten free. and i am SO MAD at this doctor for dismissing me for a simple blood test that wouldn’t have cost her anything !!!!!!!!!!! im sorry, im so emotional right now, i have been sick my whole life and never knew why, i feel so much better already   my results from labcorp:   Celiac Ab tTG TIgA w/Rflx Test Current Result and Flag Previous Result and Date Units Reference Interval t-Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA 01 28 High U/mL 0-3 Negative 0 - 3 Weak Positive 4 - 10 Positive >10 Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) has been identified as the endomysial antigen. Studies have demonstrated that endomysial IgA antibodies have over 99% specificity for gluten sensitive enteropathy. Immunoglobulin A, Qn, Serum 01 245 mg/dL 87-352

      Thank you this really helped.

Okay that is really good to know. So with that being positive and the other being high it makes sense she diagnosed her even without the endoscopy. So glad we caught it early. She had so many symptoms though that to me it was clear something was wrong.   yeah I think we had better test us and the other kids as well.
